I'm actually having the same issue and the beta build for MO2 fixed it but caused other issues. For now, I've just been install via manual download.

"Cande Vahta fey Athel" in Aldmeris means "The Secret Vaults in the Sky". "The Vaults", for short, is a mod I am developing for Skyrim, which is in the very early stages. "The Vaults" will be a storehouse for most of the unique weapons found in Skyrim, much like Jaggarsfeld's trophy hall (a player home mod), but with expanded storage, less bugs, and other unique features. Unlike Jaggarsfeld, the mod will work completely independent of any house mods, but will contain assets designed for mod authors to quickly and easily include The Vaults within their own mods; both in a grand way or very subtly. However, players who don't have a player home with this integrated will still be able to use the mod on its own by following a quest to find Cande Vahta fey Athel. For now this will be a placeholder and developmental topic. Development Document Dev Shots

issue with running skyrim through mod organizer 2
TechAngel85 replied to norimyxxxo's question in Mod Organizer Support
The normal BSA/plugin relationship has been restored in MO2 so you can't deactivate them. As long as their plugin is checked, the BSA will load. However, that means if a plugin from a mod is unchecked that also houses a BSA, then the BSA will not load. As for the issue, my first thought is that it's either an issue with String files or you have a mod that is changing a interface file, resulting in the "$". I know some mods that change "gold" to "septim" cause this issue. -
That makes things simple. I will test it out for STEP:Core when I get to that point. I also see this is basically intended to replace the Bashed Patch besides the Merge Patch feature. I'll have to test it there too.
-
I have to learn to use it first since I'm the only one doing the Guide work these days. Depending on how big the learning curve it will depend on whether or not it makes it into the Guide. The resulting patch also has to satisfy my expectations. This all comes down to whether or not the time spent is worth it since the Extended Patches are already made. The only Patch left is the Core patch.

I feel you are being combative for no real reason. You are not providing anything to this topic of use. If this continues, you will receive a warning and your posting abilities will be revoked for a period of time. If you wish to continue and want help, please do so in a way a manner that is informative and helpful so that other member may help you with your issue. This post will serve as a verbal warning to user: Agent_XXX The next warning will be an official warning within the forum system.

Though I am reading this as you are simply getting some of your frustrations out, please be aware to not call out anyone specific. Ranting is fine as long as you keep it civil. Anything pass that will get you a warning on these forums. We manage our forums differently than Nexus because we like to keep a mature, as possible, community here at STEP. Though I don't feel this has gone pass the point for a warning, I will let this post will act as a verbal caution to user: Agent_XXX BTW, I can play Skyrim LE with STEP Extended just fine at 60FPS, which includes DynDOLOD. So you are most likely either taxing your system beyond what it is actually capable of or have a bad setup somewhere. EDIT: https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:STEP_Community_Citizenship

ACCEPTED XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended (by Groovtama)
TechAngel85 replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I've updated the FOMOD instructions for this mod (v4.31). -
I did a quick scan through and it only looks like a bunch of tables being removed. Nothing looks out of place. It could be the number of tables being called for a single page, in which case splitting up the guide into multiple pages should fix that.

how to use mod organizer 2 in portable mode?
TechAngel85 replied to Vakarlan's question in Mator's Utilities Support (archived, read-only)
All you really need to do is hit the "Instance" button (first button on the menu bar) and select portable. Then move the files/folders from the appdata folder to the MO2 folder. The great thing about MO2 is one install can be used for all your games when using "instances", however, when used as "portable" it behaves more like the original MO and stores everything in the MO folder. When using portable, you can only use MO2 for one single game...meaning you have to have an install of MO2 for each game when using portable. Personally, I have MO2 set up to handle my "playing" from instances and, thus, a single install. Then I have two additional installs of MO2; one for Skyrim LE and one for Skyrim SE, which I use strictly for mod authoring. This keeps my authoring files completely separated from my the installs that I use to play the game. -
Moving object to different cell w/ TesEdit?
TechAngel85 replied to Mookeylama's question in xEdit Support
You should never "delete" vanilla content. You should simply change it to "initially disabled" and move it under the ground or floor, if it's in the way. -
DROPPED Lepidoptera Of Skyrim (by Impulseman45)
TechAngel85 replied to kryptopyr's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Such practices of sharing mods outside of the author's provided source is against our policies as it underwrites the author's rights. You will not find any mods shared in this way on STEP. Your install will work fine without the mod.- 34 replies

Fore's New Idles in Skyrim - FNIS (by fore)
TechAngel85 replied to WilliamImm's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
MO2 can be used for both versions of Skyrim...I'm doing so now. However, it's features and use are slightly different so users should look into those differences and make an informed decision. As for the FNIS statement, that was for SSE, not Skyrim LE that the STEP Guide is for. -
bug STEP v2.10.0 Official Bug Reports
TechAngel85 replied to TechAngel85's topic in Step Skyrim LE Guide
Thanks for the report. I wish authors who choose to retire wouldn't pull their content. This will require an update to the patches. I will attempt to update the core patches this weekend. The extra patches will likely remain untouched because they are going away with the next release of the Guide anyway. There are simply too many versions of the patches being maintained. -
4k and efficient use of graphics processing
TechAngel85 replied to castleheynow's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I would stay away from adjusting uGrids. It's generally no longer a recommended tweak. As for the 4K textures, it really depends on what objects you choose to bump up to the higher resolution. NPCs and creatures won't effect things that much, however, landscapes and buildings will. Anything the game loads a lot of, you'll probably want to avoid bumping to 4K. I have a GTX 1060 and only use 4K for things that I will be getting close to or for things which are bigger in size which I feel justifies the added detail. The reason I follow this philosophy is because 9/10 times you'll never noticed the added detail unless you're screenarching and spending time at close range to objects. Most interiors you can get away with 4K everything without much issue. Exteriors are another beast entirely due to the shear amount of textures loaded at once. I typically limit myself to 2K for most exterior objects. -
I've updated the mod page. As for the MSCV, we specifically instruct to use the installer version so adding any information beyond that is going outside the scope of the Guide.

Can I deviate from the STEP guide and still use the STEP patch?
TechAngel85 replied to a topic in Step Skyrim LE Guide
The plugin requirements for the Patches are listed here: https://forum.step-project.com/topic/9370-step-compilation/ As long as you have those plugins installed, you can still use the STEP Patches. -
Learning how to make FOMOD Templates.
TechAngel85 replied to Razorsedge877's question in General Skyrim SE Support
For a selection that users can only select one box, use "SelectExactlyOne" instead of "SelectAny" for the group type. <group name="NameHere" type="SelectExactlyOne">This makes a radio button for each entry, which users must select one of the options. For a "None" option to be displayed, use "SelectAtMostOne". -
CTD with Entering Riverwood and Audio Stuttering
TechAngel85 replied to Elruesta's question in General Skyrim LE Support
You have installed quite a few mods on top of STEP:Core. You also did this without patching, which is most likely your issue. You have conflicts within your mod plugins that need to be resolved so your modlist will work properly. This is what the STEP Patches do; however, once you go beyond the scope of STEP, as you've done here, it's up to the user to patch their modlists. -
Best resources for Mod Creation?
TechAngel85 replied to TheTechGenius's question in General Skyrim SE Support
The answer for resources is going to be vastly different based on the type of mod/mods you're wanting to make. -
ACCEPTED Book Covers Skyrim (by DanielCoffey and doccdr)
TechAngel85 replied to dstansberry's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
The text for books is located with the Interface folder/archive. Your issues would be there and have something to do with it displaying on these setups; not with this mod. Skyrim has several issues with multi-monitor support. -
To add to what Greg said, having this INI included while using MO or WB, will overwrite any INI setting you have in your default INIs. Therefore, including this in your default INI is not necessary. You'll always have those tweaks in your game from USLEEP as long as another mod doesn't overwrite them with its own INI tweaking.

bug STEP v2.10.0 Official Bug Reports

I've removed aMidianBorn Farmhouse from the live Guide since it being hidden is confusing newer users. This change will filter onto the Guide during the next page refresh. -
ACCEPTED Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - DynDOLOD (by Sheson)
TechAngel85 replied to DoubleYou's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Looks like a huge LOD... Just redo the entire DynDOLOD process. -
Yep, I managed to grab a copy and will be putting it through the ringer with a STEP install.
