  1. I was patching Flora Respawn Fix and Harvest Overhaul when this idea came up. It would have made patching those mods take one minute instead of ten.
  2. I'm curious if a feature is planned (or already implemented). For this example, say am I patching for a series of the same record types, such as Ingredients. I would love to be able to select multiple records, right-click, click "Forward Record Fields", select the mod I'm forwarding from, select the mod I'm forwarding to, select the field name(s) a want to forward (say "PFIG - Ingredient"), and click "OK". The program then forwards all selected records from pluginA to pluginB, of the chosen field name(s). This would make manual patching a lot faster when patching two mods that alter the same records.

  6. There is not. The only official guide from STEP is the Skyrim guide. Though many of the user guides are of very good quality.

  10. Yeah, BethINI is the same program (like xEdit) across all games. Just change the game selection in the program.

  12. Just use BethINI. It's going to get to maxed out settings in the safest way possible, imo.
  13. That's more investigation than I've ever done, but I'm still running at 1920x1080 @ 60Hz. Getting the quality I like from a monitor with high specs still costs an arm and three toes for such a monitor.
  14. Anything over 60FPS has the potential to throw the havok in the game off. For users like yourself, I typically recommend turning them all off and using the video card's framerate limiter to limit the game to 59.8 FPS.
  15. No idea. My guess would be loading a merge is causing assets to be loaded that wouldn't be otherwise.
  16. The fact that I have to hack it up to kill all the telemetry is excuse enough for me not to update. That should be optional and easily turned off, imo. My data is my data.
  17. GrantSP made a good point. Make sure you're using a fresh save/new game. I always COC into the game when doing some quick testing, but when creating a stable save to test from it's best to start a proper new save. My gut is telling me this might have to do with Win10 or some other software running in the background. There's good reason I have yet to upgrade to Win10, and it offers nothing as an incentive for me to do so.

  19. You can switch out SFO versions without issue. In fact, we'll be dropping that mod for the next major release. Just hide or overwrite the billboards from the STEP Compilation. The rest of your changes are just options in the installers for these mods. Change them however you wish. Yes, you do need to using the option in XP32 for AGO.
  20. Those mods shouldn't cause any issues. I was simply pointing them out that they weren't in STEP. I'm going to one-up theblackman here, did you establish that you had a stable game before installing any mods? Is the vanilla game stable? The reason I ask be because you posted this: If your game was crashing with just this, then the problem is most likely bigger than the game itself (assuming you have SKSE and ENBoost installed correctly). There is no way anyone should crash with just the base setup in the quoted text above.
  21. DoubleCursorFix is not needed if ENB/ENBoost is used. What and why are you using a Preloader? Both of these are not in STEP. This test is bogus. From those of us here at STEP who have completed thousands of hours of testing, this is "stability test" is flat out crap...to put it bluntly. It mainly started with Vurt (SFO author) spreading it around and can still be found on his mod page. Where it he got it from, I don't know...perhaps he made it up. The fact that you've gotten to 17 minutes should be proof enough that your game is stable, though. We obviously do not support this testing for stability with STEP. The game was simply not designed for it. By doing it, you are guaranteed to eventually overtax the game engine and get a crash. No amount of tweaking can fix it. Furthermore, the more mods you add the faster you're going to get a crash...because you're overtaxing the engine faster by feeding it larger data. If that is the only testing you are going off of to stay your game isn't stable, then I would suggest you move on. Install the mods you want and play the game. If you get a crash during normal gameplay, then you can start looking into the cause. Though, be aware, classic Skyrim will just simply crash for no reason sometimes. I can play for hours without issue and sometimes just, BAM, random crash for seemingly no reason. Crash Fixes does help to an extent with this since it's fixing some buggy coding or telling the game to ignore certain errors.
  22. Yep, what evmiller said. There is a note on the SRO page to reduce the textures, if needed, for a good reason. Some users, especially Win10 users will need to do this to save some space. As technology develops, we feel it's not a terrible thing to include such mods. Most are running with at least 2-4GBs of VRAM now with the newer models now sporting 6-8GBs of VRAM. We have to keep up with the times so as technology evolves, so will the requirements for the Guide. Personally, I feel as though anyone who is running the minimal requirements listed in the Guide is overdue for upgrades...at least where the video card is concerned.
