  1. I thought I had already commented on this one, but I agree that the dark surface dirt seems out of place to me.
  2. I think I've finally built all of the homes and I haven't noticed any issues with Hearthire Extended. I installed the main file without any of the optional files.
  3. I'm not so sure about the weathered look of the standing stones and the weathered look of the stone room around the claw door, but the rest of it looks good to me.
  4. I think SSE Display Tweaks is the better choice over Havok Fix. At least SSE Display Tweaks seems to work better on my system and I'm just using 1920x1200 at 60Hz.
  5. I've been using TK Children for a while now and I think it is a significant improvement.
  6. I read the mod description and it appears to be a moderate change to the height of a few races so it's ok with me.
  7. I've been using borderless window mode for the past several years without any noticable issues. I prefer it in my case because it allows me to easily Alt+Tab back to the desktop.
  8. Hopefully (crossing fingers) it'll be available again soon.
  9. I completely missed this one so you are probably correct. The "Lanterns of Skyrim SE - MCM Version - 1 Original MannyGT" main file seems to be the most sensible choice because the guide does not use Obsidian Weathers and Rudy ENB. The light seems to be a bit overly bright so you'll probably want to use one of the optional plugins in "Lanterns of Skyrim SE - Various Weather Mods Preset Pack" to dim the brightness a bit. I played around switching between 1 and 5 while standing next to a lamp post just outside Riverwood. I want to play with it some more to see if I can get some screenshots to capture the differences with each of the options. Also keep in mind that that STEP Skyrim SE Patches resolves some conflicts with Lanterns of Skyrim II and I have not looked to determine if this mod needs a similar patch.
  10. Lanterns of Skyrim SE has only one file and I think this is the one TechAngel85 is referring to.
  11. Converting mods from Skyrim Legendary Edition to Skyrim Special Edition is outside the bounds of the guide. Some mods are relatively easy to convert whereas other mods are significantly more difficult. This one happens to be very easy to convert, but STEP doesn't want to guide users through using the Creation Kit because of the complexity involved. And, yeah, the first time I ran Creation Kit I stared at all those warnings for a long time trying to figure out what I had broken.
  12. Interesting... When I double click an ESP file in that dialog and click OK, it complains about no active file selected. I'll try it again this weekend to see if it makes a difference whether double clicking on the mod name vs the box makes a difference.
  13. Install the main file named Dragons Shout with Voice - LOOSE. The Dragons Shout with Voice from location optional file is not required so you can skip it. If you prefer to use this optional file: Install the optional file with Mod Organizer (the same way you would install any other mod)Run Creation Kit from Mod OrganizerClick File | DataSelect the ESP file that was installed in the first step and click Set as Active FileClick OK to load the pluginWait for the Creation Kit to finish loading and validating the plugin and masters (it'll take a while).Close the dialog showing a bunch of warnings.Click File | Save to save the pluginExit Creation KitFor the extra cautious, run SSEEdit and check the plugin for errors just to verify Creation Kit didn't do something silly. The last step isn't strictly necessary, but I'm wary of Creation Kit throwing in a bunch of identical to master records at random.
  14. I don't think this is an issue with the guide since several of us have installed and are using the guide successfully. The .NET Script Framework mod page on Nexus has a troubleshooting section toward the bottom of the page you can use. The first step should be to verify that Skyrim Special Edition is not installed in any UAC-controlled folders (like C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files (x86)). If this is good, open NET Script Framework in Explorer, right click on each DLL you can find and click Properties to ensure none of these has an Unblock button or checkbox. If you see Unblock in the Properties dialog, click it and click OK.
  15. aMidianBorn Imperial Light and Studded and aMidianBorn Stormcloak Officer Armor contain only textures that are fully compatible with both Skyrim Legendary Edition and Skyrim Special Edition. You'll find a few other texture mods from Skyrim Legendary Edition used in the guide as well and these are all safe to use with Skyrim Special Edition.
  16. This is going by what I seem to remember of the issue with Skyrim Legendary Edition so it's subject to being incorrect and missing important details. The save file contains a list of plugin names and position in the load order like this: 00 Skyrim.esm 01 Update.esm 02 Dawnguard.esm 03 Hearthfires.esm 04 Dragonborn.esm 05 Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch.esp ... Also note that the first byte of all FormIds stored in the save file contains the plugin's load order (e.g. 03003035 for Iron Fittings in Hearthfires.esm). If the load order of a plugin changes when a save file is loaded, the game must build a new plugin load order set (like the one shown above) and update all FormIds in the save file to the new order order index. If you swap Dawnguard.esm and Hearthfires.esm for example, Iron Inogts has to change from 03003035 to 02003035. The game must do this for every FormId in the save file (and there are a lot of them) and there is some risk this may break some scripts that are stored in the save file. I don't know what the game does with scripts, but I imagine it has to do something since these are generally tied to specific plugins as well. This probably isn't relevant for your specific case, but if the plugin names do not match exactly (or a plugin is removed from the load order), all FormIds for the old plugin slot are removed from the save. This means if you uncheck Hearthfires.esm and load an existing save, all the Hearthfire items in your inventory and containers are gone. The save files already on disk are not changed, but any new saves will no longer have any Hearthfire items.
  17. I'm using a slightly modified STEP build at the moment with TK Children, Simple Children, Simple Children Updated Textures, Simple Children Patches, Legacy of the Dragonborn and, Legacy of the Dragonborn Curators Companion. I really like the improvements Simple Children brings to the table. I haven't gotten very far with Legacy of the Dragonborn due to time constraints, but I have noticed a few weird glitches with a couple of the quests -- notably a quest stage directs me to talk to Auryen Morellus at the museum and I'll have to reload two or three times before he appears in the museum. It may just be script lag, though.
  18. I haven't noticed any rain in High Hrothgar or Winterhold, although I have not spent a lot of time in these areas either. I've been spending most of my time between Solitude and Whiterun and the weather around here is either bright and sunny or what seems to be a severe tropical rainstorm.
  19. If the game starts without any mods enabled, have you tried to start it with only one or two mods enabled to see if it still works?
  20. If you create a bashed patch, you should do so before Step 5 (xLODGen, DynDOLOD and Occlusioon). I recommend doing everything up to Step 5, sort the load order with LOOT, and play the game for a while to verify everything is working well. If everything is working well at this point, copy the STEP profile to a new profile, add your mods in the appropriate sections in your new profile, sort using LOOT again, create the bashed patch, and verify everything is working well again with a new character. Adding your custom mods in a new profile makes it easier to revert back to the working STEP profile if something goes wrong. If you are comfortable that everything is working well with your custom profile, complete Step 5 through the end of the guide.
  21. Expand the Hunterborn.esp node and it should show the detailed list. Usually the black box in a checkbox means one or more of the child nodes isn't checked.
  22. I realize this doesn't help much, but I have never seen behavior even remotely like this with Mod Organizer. Is it possible your antivirus software is doing something wonky? If you are running Mod Organizer as an administrator, you don't need to and really shouldn't.
  23. Have you tried the vanilla start with Alternate Start: Live Another Life? I doubt Alternate Start is the cause of the CTD. It's more likely missing meshes or something in one of the other mods and the selected start just happens to put you in the area that's causing the crash. You might start by verifying the LOD resources are installed correctly and the LOD generation at the end is good. If you're still experiencing issues, go back through the guide again to verify all mods are installed correctly.
  24. You should read the mod description for the details: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2475
