Discussion topic: Boston Public Library Settlement by pra Wiki Link Allows the ability for the Boston Public Library to be a settlement following clearing the location, rebuilding the precombines for the affected cells and the navmeshes. Notably uses partial form flags to help prevent compatibility issues, which are verified to work correctly. Should load after Previsibines Repair Pack. Small conflict with Clarity's interior fog setting (shouldn't be a big deal). There aren't too many interior cell settlements, and this is a large enough interior location that making a settlement inside makes some sense. This is one of my more favorite interior cell locations, so I like the idea of it becoming a settlement.
  3. Discussion topic: Worldspace Transition Tweaks by AndrealphusVIII Wiki Link This is a very interesting mod, yet relatively unknown mod. While the main thing it advertises is the ability to swim from Skyrim to Solstheim, it is a lot more than that on the LOD front. It has overhauled a huge amount of the landscape, mostly the landscape beyond the playable regions. It also expands the size of Tamriel and Solstheim worldspaces. I am unsure that there aren't problems due to the size increase, as I had thought that there was a certain limit on the bounds that can be used for worldspaces without bugs. There are multiple incompatibilities that can be found and resolved in xEdit, mostly involving weather records added to certain cells. There are landscape conflicts between this and Smooth Shores that possibly might require a Creation Kit patch. One idea I had, however, was to not use this mod in its entirety, but only for xLODGen generation, like xLODGen Resource - SSE Terrain Tamriel (which is merged with this mod, btw). I'm not sure if this is a viable idea or not, but seems possible. This will not work. Testing notes: Look for problems with LOD. Author has stated it doesn't work for DynDOLOD 3, but I rather doubt that is truly the case. Look for landscape conflicts. Install ACMOS patch.

  5. Discussion topic: Hearthfire Extended by Kinaga Wiki Link STEP SE Note: Test Files: Main File Hearthfire Extended - Not actually a patch, but addon that isn't needed. This mod was in the LE Guide. Needs to be considered and tested for the SE Guide. Would likely need custom patching. Might be an issue with the basements.

Discussion topic: Tundra Homestead Exterior Cleanup by TheShiningAbsol Wiki Link The Creation Club Tundra Homestead uses aspen trees and Dunmeri lamps that stick out like a sore thumb in Whiterun Hold. This mod removes these objects. The attached screenshots are using the Tundra Homestead Exterior Cleanup - Nordic Door Lanterns option. I think this mod makes the home a lot more in line with the base game.

It is not recommended to be installed until you have finished the initial quest, even though you can. I tested this and decided, though while nice looking, I continuously had difficulty with characters getting stuck outside the walls. I enjoyed building my own vault, and this template made me feel stuck in an enclosed space.

  14. Discussion topic: Midwood Isle SE by Will Evans Wiki Link This mod adds a new land called Midwood Isle. Midwood Isle is home to the Sonmer - Sun elves. While admittedly the entire scope of this mod is placed entirely outside of any established lore, it can be considered lore-friendly in that it doesn't conflict with established lore, but it is rather an addition to the world, albeit entirely made up by the author. The main quest has you pitted against a powerful daedra by the name of Zahkris who wants to kill you in order to inhabit your body and lay waste to Midwood Isle. Only you as the Dragonborn are capable of defeating him entirely and saving the island. This mod took me quite a long time to complete. As for compatibility with the STEP guide, the roads must somehow conflict with Blended Roads as they flicker and fight at places, so that would need patched. I simply ignored it. Also, using the latest mods in testing for STEP, the mod's worshippers can become quite powerful through the use of the enhanced spells added to their abilities, and I died a lot. Killing Zahkris was easy by comparison, because there was only one of him. Mind you, I was playing as a level 55-ish character, so this might be disproportionate to most people's experiences. I was able to play it through, but I did have to drop it down to Novice difficulty at places to account for the multiple overcharged mages. This is in no way this mod's fault, however. One nice little touch you will see are the colored lanterns throughout the villages. Every detail is well-designed and polished, and I didn't have any trouble with any of the quests breaking in any way.
  15. Discussion topic: Helgen Reborn by Mike Hancho Wiki Link I have been play-testing this mod while testing the STEP 2.0 guide. This mod adds a quest to rebuild Helgen following the dragon attack. I haven't finished the questline yet, but so far it seems to be an extremely well-polished and enjoyable mod. There's been some discussion about adding these kinds of mods, and I think this would be a good candidate.
