I wouldn't copy over anything, personally. The enblocal.ini is meant to be just that, local to that one system. Preset authors should never include copies of it with their files. If the authors recommend changes to it, then they should do that on their mod pages where the user can copy and paste the changes if they so desire. So in other words, set up your own enblocal.ini file how you want and leave it. The stuff it includes will work for all ENB presets.

Man, I hate that! It happened to me a while back and I had to run on an old drive that the connector was broken on so the drive was hillbillied up. Not fun.

Delete everything from your Skyrim directory beside the Data folder, Mod Organizer folder, SKSE files, and any other tools (like WB, xEdit, etc) that you may have installed there. Then verify your local cache in Steam to allow it to replace the files it needs. This will clean all leftover ENB files from your installation. You'll need to set up ENBoost again after you've done this. Ensure you install the DX9 Runtimes listed on the page. Once all this is done, you should be able to try to install an ENB again. I don't recommend RealVision simply due to it's unorthodox method of installing itself. I've had to troubleshoot it's installer enough for me to loathe it. And it's even screwed up my own system once. It will be removed from the ENB Guide whenever I have the time and willingness to take care of it.

DROPPED NARC - No Animals Report Crimes (by Pharros)
TechAngel85 replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
STEP requires all DLC to fully install the guide. I've updated the guide to reflect this mod's requirements. If you want your free copy of Skyrim Special Edition on October 28th from Bethesda and Steam, then you need to go ahead and purchase the DLCs before that time. Most mod authors are switching to support only the legendary version of the game (all DLCs). To answer your question, no. This mod will not work without the DLCs because they are masters to the mod. You will get a CTD if you attempt to use it without the DLCs. -
I think this will be easier to learn than the actual scripting. I'm old school and will probably still do a lot of my scripting by hand (someone has to stay in practice ::), but this is great for mod authors like SparrowPrince and kryptopyr who know a enough to get by, but not quite enough to do the complicated, more advanced scripting that I've helped them with in the past. I believe this tool to be compatible of creating these more advanced FOMODs for this user base and more. This tool should find a good home in the community once it's out of beta.

ACCEPTED XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended (by Groovtama)
TechAngel85 replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Yes, it is completely safe to replace in the Guide. Just use the settings in the installer that line up with the settings for XPMS found on the wiki mod page. -
Yep, nice to see this is open now. I just couldn't find the time with real life to get to doing a full test during the closed beta.

Fallout 4 - The Ultimate Fax Machine
TechAngel85 replied to Gernash's question in General Fallout 4 Support
DPI is usually just a print (physical copy) thing, isn't it? -
Sure, I'm working today so I'll get them over to you this evening when I'm home. What's the main difference between the two presets? On the ultra preset, I still had to up the draw distance on the grass, and change the grass textures to 7 but I think that's all I changed from its default. The rest was about the same as my custom INIs. I did turn down the shadow resolution because 4K is nonsense for any setup, imo, when the shadows are going to be blurred anyway. Plus I'm running ELEP for detailed shadows and a few other select effects. I also turned down particles to 4500 because with Vivid Weathers it can be a bit taxing. Other than that I kept the ultra preset settings and still get 50-60fps in most cases. Turning on ELEP drops me down into the 40, though.

Ah, so I am. No, shadow filter = no difference in Skyrim. I haven't found any other issues that I can report at this time. It's window did loose focus once and was sent to the back behind an Explorer window I had open when I changed one of the settings, but I haven't been able to reproduce that since. The ultra preset seems to run about the same as my custom tweaked INIs for my custom profile so that's good news. ::

It didn't automatically detect my profiles. I had to navigate to my profile. BethINI installed at: "D:\Modding\Programs\BethINI"Skyrim installed at: "D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim"MO installed at: "D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Mod Organizer" Yes. SFO is active (STEP Extended). I was following your instructions to a tee so MO wasn't open. I clicked the "default" button followed by the "high" preset. After checking the changes in the high preset, I opened it back up and selected the "Ultra" preset. I still had to manually change the grass type to 7 as it stayed at 3 the entire time. Also to note, you say there aren't any visible changes for the shadow blurring between setting 0 and 4. That might be true for the vanilla game (haven't tested it), but it's certainly not true for ENB users. There is a very visible difference with all setting for ENB users. You might want to address that somehow since it can be a bit misleading. I also though Skryim's default for this setting was 3, not 4? If it is 3, you might want to keep it that value since many ENB authors will design their shadows around the default values.

I didn't think about that, but now would be a good time to consider if we want to remove the benchmarks from the Guide, as well. Some of that data has been sitting since 2013 and hasn't been touched. Realistically, will it ever be compiled into something useful or is it just going to keep sitting there? The benchmark stuff was Z's baby so perhaps we should PM him for his thoughts. The reason I proposed putting it at the end of the guide was so it would pick up some mods that are in STEP which have specific INI tweak recommendations, like SFO.

VRamSizeTest tool only seeing 4GB of VRAM?
TechAngel85 replied to johnnywatts's question in Post-Processing Support
Should matter too much. There are a lot of using running on Win10. Just be sensible with your texture resolutions. -
I am confident after seeing the changes BethINI makes that it can fully replace the entire "1.D. INI Tweaks" section of the Guide and I propose we place it in the Patches section to be ran after the Batched Patch (alphabetical order). The mod page can be fleshed out with instructions.

VRamSizeTest tool only seeing 4GB of VRAM?
TechAngel85 replied to johnnywatts's question in Post-Processing Support
If you're on Windows 10, that is the reason. Win10 can only use 4064 for the value due to how DX9 is implemented in Win10. -
I can confirm that it did not detect SFO for me because my setting was still set to 3. @KLWaster Just hover over the setting and you'll get a tooltip that opens at the mouse. Though, it would be helpful for the tooltip to list the actual INI parameter being edited. @baronaatista It saved just fine for me and MO picked them up okay (files are edited in INI Editor). Make sure you're not running it from within MO and make sure you close MO being running it.

They're hoping 3.0 will be released before the end of the year. Looks like I'm late to the game. Haha! -

Over the last couple weeks I've given this guide a good work-through. I finished it up this evening. Changes are as follows: Corrected use of tense to align with standards (took out the "you" and "your")Applied default formatting to nearly all sectionsImproved the layout of the guideExpanded or updated the information for many of the settings (this could probably be improved further)Added a few missing settingsChanged the format of the guide to be directed towards general use of the tool as a first priority and provided recommendations for Skyrim users as a second priority

NEW Skyrim Special edition... Future of STEP?
TechAngel85 replied to razanon's question in General Skyrim LE Support
If you have FO4, then it's likely going to run very similar, if not the same, as that game. This is because the engine is likely to be very similar. Bethesda ported Skyrim over to the upgraded Creation Kit (the one used to make FO4 or at least an earlier version of it) for testing purposes on the Xbox One dev kits they received from Microsoft (which is 64bit). So they had planned to release SSE for a long time ago after seeing it played on the Xbox One. This helps to hold us over until Elder Scrolls VI is released. (interview here) Speaking of which (and not to get off topic here but...many people missed this info at E3), it's been confirmed that Elder Scrolls VI is planned. However, no details are known besides, whatever Bethesda has planned the "technology" doesn't exist yet. No one is really sure the meaning of how Tom used the word, "technology" (interviews here); however, some are speculating this could mean a completely new engine. No one really knows. It's also been confirmed that the work has not actually begone on Elder Scrolls VI by Pete. What this means is that the game is probably "many years from now ~Tom". Apparently there are two big titles coming before Elder Scrolls VI and one could be a new world on the same level as The Elder Scrolls and Fallout worlds. Tom was cryptic but still let a few tidbits out. -
Enderal without messing up Step extended
TechAngel85 replied to Yougurt's topic in Step Skyrim LE Guide
I haven't ran it yet, but by the sounds of that it seems like you can't change where Enderal installs its files. That would be a nice feature to have because then it would be even easier to install. Overall, those instructions seem to be sound. -
NEW Skyrim Special edition... Future of STEP?
TechAngel85 replied to razanon's question in General Skyrim LE Support
1. SSE is being released as a new game so mods will not be obsolete. They will still work on the original game. Some mods will transfer without any issues. Others will require some work by the authors. 2. STEP will not work on consoles due to some mods requiring SKSE and other tools. Console modding will be very basic.
