  1. As far as i know this guide is not actively maintained anymore? About removing the Mass Ownership Tweaks mod from your modlist, if you're familiar with xEdit, you could remove the relevant records and then the dependency as a master from the STEP patch. This post was very helpful at least to me in that regard (the principles should be the same with Skyrim and New Vegas): How to Remove a Step Patch Dependency About the user interface section, OneHud and also DarnUI are a bit dated mods and prone to problems in conjunction with each other and other mods. Personally i am using Contextual Hud together with Vanilla UI+ and Clean Vanilla Hud.
  2. Discussion topic: Wasteland Flora and Terrain Overhaul (Patched) by Inthegrave Wiki Link This is a replacer esm for the main WFO esp, fixing 'various issues with Wasteland Flora and Terrain Overhaul' like dirty edits, ITMs and deleted references within the original file. If interested, see also the discussions on the main mod's board.
  3. With a most recent update this mod's dependency is now shifted from SUP NVSE to JohnnyGuitar NVSE, making it fit again with a STEP build.
  4. Thank you. This is a thoughtfully crafted and still regularly maintained and updated mod. For it's new implementation replacing Veronica's companion weapon alone it is worth considering as an addition to any 'Vanilla Plus' mod list. This mod is now also part of the 'Viva New Vegas' guide.
  5. I share your dislike of FCO. I am currently playing with 'Character Expansions Revised', which is a more contemporary character overhaul and closer to vanilla. If you installed the full STEP guide and decided to disable FCO and everything related including the STEP patch, you will have to do your own conflict resolution patch in xEdit to replace the STEP patch. Playing without a conflict resolution patch might still work, but you would have a lot of oddities, small errors or even quests not properly progressing ...
  6. With this mod still being maintained and frequently updated, it might be more convenient and safer practice to add one's own ini preset as a separate mod overwriting the main mod instead of repeating the ini edits every time the mod updates. The author (in collaboration with Viva New Vegas) also just uploaded four different ini presets for use with NVTF, which could be used in this regard. (The preset fitting a STEP installation would be the file called 'Texture Modding and High Res Preset' in Miscellaneous Files). NVTF - INI Presets
  7. Discussion topic: Essential Vanilla Enhancements Merged by PushTheWinButton Wiki Link 'This is a merged and updated collection of various small mods or concepts, with a focus on compatibility and fitting seamlessly with the vanilla game. This is intended as a partner to Essential DLC Enhancements Merged.' (Author's description) This compilation includes (among others) several mods already listed with the STEP guide and would make their individual installation redundant: Bryce Anders Companion Inventory, Burning Campfire Redone, Casino Exchange All, Enslaving Arcade Fix, Harvestable Cave Fungus, Logic and Consistency Fixes, Mantis Gauntlet Crafting Schematics Restoration, Mass Ownership Tweaks, Miscellaneous Tweaks Collection (in parts), More Caravan Players Restoration, Return Vance's Gun, Strip Wall Billboards, Thermic Lance Fire Effects, Ultrajet Recipe Contreras. The compilation also conflicts with several mods in the STEP guide, because it integrates their own counterparts, namely for mods like 'Faction Armor Usage Enhancement' and 'Primm Reputation Restored Revised' which would be substituted by Simple Reputation and Disguises, integrated in the compilation. The compilation also conflicts with the current STEP conflict resolution patch and cannot be added to this guide 'out of the box', but might simplify and smooth a future guide and conflict resolution ...
  8. Superseded by / can be substituted with Butcher Pete Complete - A Melee Animation Overhaul.
  9. Superseded by / can be substituted with Butcher Pete Complete - A Melee Animation Overhaul.
  10. Discussion topic: ActorCause Save Bloat Fix by lStewieAl Wiki Link 'Fixes a save bloating issue related to actors detecting the player, improving save/load speed and decreasing save size 10-30% depending on playthrough length.' (Author's description)
  11. To comment on my own comment, i've been playing these last couple of weeks with the 'NVCS Vanilla Weights' main file, which seems to be working fine.
  12. This mod has been updated on March 30th: 'Meshes.bsa no longer gets split into Meshes2.bsa - its content gets directed to Misc.bsa instead.' (Changelog) Instructions for this mod would now be a bit more simpler, especially for the INI edits.
  13. Discussion topic: Exterior Emittance Fix - NVSE by WallSoGB Wiki Link 'Mod fixes incorrect exterior emittance handling which leads to particles being black.' (Author's description)
  14. Mod now offers an additional script to remove the need to manually alter the INI files and resolve mod conflicts ...
  15. Mod is updated with the Script Runner version now omitted in the new version (Installation instructions for STEP suggest using the Script Runner version main file, which is now only available in the 'Old Files') Version 3 scripts redone delete the scriptrunner version wich was less performant add fRadsFromLandAlt new setting, to apply rads increase from environment better than fRadsFromLand
  16. Sadly, despite a fixed version and a full rewrite in the last couple of weeks, this mod does not seem to work, at least not in its english version (no interaction at all). In comparison, Universal Water Bottling - Fill Empty Bottles seems to work perfectly fine within the STEP 1.2.0 setup. and could be used as an alternative.
  17. Both, 'Fallout Character Overhaul' and 'Gun Runners' Arsenal Merged' worked just fine for me to install with each their respective FOMODs. With both, the first screen is a bit irritating, you'd just have to press 'Start' ... According to the changelog the author removed any edits related to FPGE and TLD, so there are no more dependencies to the mentioned mods. I personally would install the newest version here. I'd also go with the latest version here, since the updates are mostly bugfixes and QoL changes. Still i have no idea how this would affect the bugfixes mentioned in the instructions or make them obsolete alltogether? If not specificially mentioned in the guide, i would not install any additional patches and stick to the guide. (Any compatibility issues might already be solved with 'NV Compatibility Skeleton' or later in the STEP patch ...) EDIT: Please correct me if I'm wrong here at any point. I am also just in the middle of installing the Fallout NV guide here ...
  18. This mod has recently been updated to version 13. I assume the now current version to be used for the STEP guide would be the 'Main File - Updated for B42 Bow and Arrow' under 'Optional files'. (Please correct me if i'm wrong here, the instructions refer to version 12 'Updated for 360 Movement' optional file, which is no longer available.)
  19. Regarding the recommendations/ INI file edits for the mod: The lines 'bChristineSkills=1' and 'bMissingDMReturnOptions=1' are no longer part of the INI. Both options are moved to another mod, 'Essential DLC Enhancements Merged' (see changelog).
  20. Found the second of the two 'Easter egg' armor sets yesterday, both have nicely written notes attached and, as with all the other additions from the mod, are flawlessly integrated into the gameworld. Thanks for revisiting this mod and adding it to the guide ...
  21. The mod had three more smaller updates in the meantime, but more importantly since version 2.0.0 an INI file is already included with installation, so this might be a bit confusing with the guide instructions describing a later-generated INI ...
  22. xEdit shows you the available plugins that are listed above the plugin you choose to add a master to. Maybe change the position of the plugin, put it further down the list?
  23. True, the link was posted not by the author, but by another user. The above linked guide also clearly references (and was initially written for) an older version of the Uncapper, but still is also is the only reliable reference source for the mod for me so far ...
