CTD with Cathedral Weathers and Seasons - Help?
Greg replied to SuperOwen's topic in Step Skyrim SE Guide
I agree with DoubleYou and I think he worded it much better than what I was trying to write. -
CTD with Cathedral Weathers and Seasons - Help?
Greg replied to SuperOwen's topic in Step Skyrim SE Guide
I think what you are seeing here is standard behavior that also happens in my profile. The first time you run the game after completing the setup, some mods may create new files that go into the Overwrite folder. If it's only "SKSE/Plugins/Fuz Ro D'oh.ini" in Overwrite, you might open Overwrite and drag the SKSE folder to the "Fuz Ro D-oh - Silent Voice" mod. This is easier if you collapse all separators except 09 - Fixes so you don't have to scroll to find "Fuz Ro D-oh - Silent Voice". I usually check Overwrite every so often and try to move these to the mod they belong to. -
See this topic for information on removing a master from the Step CR Patch, but you'll have to resolve any conflicts with Perkus Maximum on your own.

Removing CR-Patch relevant mod from load order
Greg replied to Morath's topic in Step Skyrim LE Guide
Just to clarify Step 8. inspect every record in Non-essential Children and you'll see one or more columns in the right pane with names of the plugins these records are from at the top. If the right-most column is the Step CR Patch, right click on that column and select Remove to remove this record from the Step CR Patch. If the right-most column is Non-Essential Children or some other plugin, leave it alone and move on to the next record. Also verify you sorted your load order with LOOT before using xEdit to ensure all the plugins are in the correct order. -
Altitude Making the stip way too bright
Greg replied to Reize12's question in General Fallout: New Vegas Support
Oh wow... those exterior lights do look like a supernova. The only mods that affect the lighting here are Lucky 38 E3 Lights Restored and Altitude - A Vanilla Plus Weather Mod, but neither of these should affect the lighting that drastically. Lucky 38 E3 Lights Restored enables the window lights around the dome and adds a spotlight as seen in the right half of this comparison shot. The left half is from another mod that adds some really bright yellow lights on the stairs and exterior around the doorway that was blinding to my eyes. I'm wondering if it might be something in your INI files that could be causing this, although I don't know which of the light settings may affect this. -
I really like this one so me too!

Sounds good to me.

It's been so long I had completely forgotten about Dual Sheath Redux that's in the Skyrim LE guide. For anyone looking for an alternative, you might try Simple Dual Sheath. This is a DLL that requires SKSE, Address Library and XP32 Maximum Skeleton Special Extended - XPMSSE that are already included in the guide.

The advice by ButchDiavolo is very good, but you may consider adding a couple of additional steps. Copy your existing Step profile to a new profile named whatever you want. This will give you complete freedom to add whatever you want and you can always revert back to the Step profile if necessary. Also note that if you add any animations, uncheck the Step Nemesis Output mod first and generate use Nemesis to generate animations into a new mod named something like "{Profile Name} Nemesis Output" (where {Profile Name} is the name of your profile. If you change anything that requires re-running xLODGen or DynDOLOD, do the same thing by unchecking Step xLODGen Output and Step DynDOLOD Output and generating into new mods. This way your Step profile remains pristine and you can easily revert to it at any time. Just keep in mind that if you generate animations and/or LOD into the Step output mods, you'll bork the Step profile.

Access denied when wanting to hide folder in mod
Greg replied to Halde's topic in General Skyrim SE Discussion & Support
Yes, I think this is a bug on MO2 as well. It generally happens to me if I expand the Actors folder to see the files it contains and then attempt to hide the folder (even if I collapse it before hiding). Follow Mousetick's workaround but don't expand the Actors folder. -
I have the same experience so it would not bother me at all if some mod purges the disarm shout from existence.

GUIDE v1.1.0 - Feedback & Bug Reports
Greg replied to TechAngel85's topic in Step Fallout New Vegas Guide
That path seems wonky to me. I'd expect it to be more like G:\GOG\Fallout New Vegas or G:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout New Vegas or something similar if you have Steam installed in a different path from the Stream library. -
GUIDE v1.1.0 - Feedback & Bug Reports
Greg replied to TechAngel85's topic in Step Fallout New Vegas Guide
If you are indeed running xedit.exe, you should use the -FNV argument to tell it to use Fallout New Vegas. This should not be necessary if you are running FNVEdit.exe. Run Fallout4NVLauncher.exe from File Explorer not from Mod Organizer. If you still get the error, check the Fallout New Vegas folder to verify Fallout_default.ini, high.ini, low.ini, medium.ini and veryhigh.ini all exist. If these files are missing you may need to reinstall the game. -
I've been doing much the same, but I add the Note column to the left pane and add a note with a background color with text like "ENB Version" and "non-ENB Version". It's a bit more of a pain than that adding "ENB Version" to the mod name, but these stand out in the left pane.

GUIDE v1.1.0 - Feedback & Bug Reports
Greg replied to TechAngel85's topic in Step Fallout New Vegas Guide
Using Ragdolls as an example, the instructions are to "Download and install the Ragdolls and NOT the Ragdolls TTW main file. Then install the Blind Deathclaw and the ED-E fixes under the Optional Files tab. Choose Merge when prompted." For this one, download and install the Ragdolls main file as a new mod named Ragdolls. You'll then install the "Ragdolls - Blind Deathclaw Fix" optional file. If you used the Mod Manager Download button, this optional file installs as Ragdolls and you are prompted to replace or merge. Select merge. If you downloaded the files with a browser and you click Install Mod (or drag the file from File Explorer onto the left pane), you'll get a dialog with the parsed name at the top. Change the name to Ragdolls (to match the name of the installed mod) and click install. Mod Organizer will then prompt to replace or merge. Select merge. Repeat the same as above for the Ragdolls - EDE Fix (Maybe) optional file to merge this one into the installed Ragdolls mod. Also note that merging the main file and all optional files into a single mod is mostly an organizational aid to help keep the left pane somewhat tidy and organized.
