EssArrBee Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Wait, I thought we had to delete them from RWT, am I wrong? RWT gets installed last and we need SkyFalls' files to supersede.
DoubleYou Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 This says to install SkyMills first then SMIM to get this update to work correctly. If that's the case, we'll probably have to hide (or delete) the two files that conflict with SkyFalls and Realistic Water Two (textures/effects/fxwatertile02_n.dds and textures/effects/fxfluidtile02.dds) and move Skyfalls above SMIM in Conflicting Graphics. If you delete meshes/architecture/solitude/swindmill.SM.nif and farmhouse/farmhousewindmill/farmhousewindmillfan02.nif from SkyFalls (same amount of file deletes) everything can stay where it's at, right?True, but then some people might get confused by the fact that Brumbek says to install SMIM after Skyfalls, and we already have changed the 2.2.8 guide to use the hide method on Realistic Water Two with Skyfalls above SMIM in Conflicting Graphics.
O0mix0O Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Hi all, Recently did S.T.E.P extended and was really happy until I realised SMIM's 3D ropes weren't working. After a bit of tweaking it still wouldn't work so I deleted all my mods and started a new, clean install of Skyrim to the letter of the guide on this site. After doing S.T.E.P again, my ropes STILL aren't 3D. I know it's a niggle but I really like them :( Any advice? Many thanks - Mix
DoubleYou Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Perhaps the fomod installer isn't working right. Will investigate.

DoYouEvenModBro Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Wait' date=' I thought we had to delete them from RWT, am I wrong? RWT gets installed last and we need SkyFalls' files to supersede.[/quote']Wait, so with current step order from 2.2.7, do I delete these two files from RWT or Skyfalls/MIlls? NEO's guide says from Skyfalls/Mills but now I'm seeing that he also installs Skyfalls/Mills AFTER Realistic Water Two (of which STEP does the opposite). Regardless, it doesn't matter if I just go into my Skyrim folder and delete them manually, right? Do they regenerate if I click "anneal all" in WB?
DoubleYou Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Not with current STEP. That is for STEP 2.2.8 which probably shall be released this weekend. Is that how Neo does it? Maybe we should switch it around since this might get confusing.

In STEP 2.2.7, Skyfalls is installed BEFORE Realistic Water Two (or W.A.T.E.R. as it stands now. I just subbed RW2 in for WATER). Regardless though, if I delete those two files manually and then anneal in WB, will it bring them back? Does anyone know?
DoubleYou Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Scratch that. Those two files are unneeded for STEP 2.2.7, 2.2.8 and SR:LE, so it will do no harm to remove them. Sorry, but I know nothing about Bash, other than it is much harder to manage in regards to installation order.

NEO would probably know so hopefully he'll see this.
DoubleYou Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 If you're following Neo's installation order, remove the files he says in his guide for SkyFalls. You can also remove the files from RWT safely, as SkyFalls will provide them both ways. Removing all four files will have the exact same effect, and you can still follow both.
Octopuss Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 My head is dizzy from all this, I will wait for 2.2.8 instructions :D
EssArrBee Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Look SMIM has new mills that need to overwrite sky mills but rwt has stuff for water meshes that need to overwrite SMIM. Skyfalls has two waterfall files that need to overwrite rwt so it is circular. Install skymills & falls overwrite with SMIM then install rwt and hide the two files with MO. You have to remove them ahead of time with any other manager. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
