ACCEPTED Improved Close Faced Helmets (by navida1)
WilliamImm replied to mothergoose729's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Doesn't look like it. I didn't see an official respose from the author, or the main mod files being updated. It's possible that we can get fixed meshes for the mod going following Aiyen's instructions on the mod comment page. -
Kelmych, IIRC, the compatibilty patch for EVE on the RH_Ironsights page still has a test container for the energy weapons left in. I don't it's been updated since Gopher discovered that very fact during his LP of Fallout 3 via the monsters taking non-level appropriate weapons from that area. Might want to include instructions to remove that test container from the compatibility patch.

Free (or Cheap) Games & Giveaways
WilliamImm replied to EssArrBee's topic in General Game Discussion
I already own WC3 through GOG.com, and I would prefer that version over Origin (since it comes with some really, really nifty extra content along with it), but still, getting it for free does really work. Funny, nearly all the Origin free games are ones I already own on other services currently. -
When suggesting mods, please make sure you have the name of the mod author in the tile.

There is already a discussion topic for this mod. I will likely merge the two topics together. The main reason STEP didn't look at this mod further is, well, because (to the STEP staff) it made the elves look like they were contantly doing a duckface, which looks plain off. The post is old, but the mod hasn't been updated since then either.

Free (or Cheap) Games & Giveaways

EA is offering Sims 2 with all expansions for free. Thanks to /r/gamedeals for letting me know about the offer. If you don't want to click the link, redeem I-LOVE-THE-SIMS into Origin. EDIT: If you use IFTTT (if not, go start using it, it's one of the most useful services ever), this recipe is really useful for tracking free game giveaways. It's how I heard about the Sims 2 deal, and helped me score other free games too. (Also, the deal is only for until the end of this month.) -
SKYRIMLE Leazers Open Lock 2_0 by Leazer425
WilliamImm replied to Kuldebar's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
A .psc file without a corresponding .pex implies that the script was either bundled in the mod by mistake, or the script just wasn't compiled by mistake. I'm thinking the former for this mod, there seems to be no need for it to modify the MGRitual05 quest. And yes, Lock Overhaul does allow you to unlock locks with magic. It also includes it's own "Open Locks" spell too, as a bonus. -
Legendary Unofficial Patch???
WilliamImm replied to EssArrBee's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
I'm in support. This does mean I will need to merge and make major changes to Even Better Quest Objectives, but that was on my roadmap anyway. -
I've switched from Chrome to Cyberfox long ago. Night and day difference for me, I love the fact that it doesn't take up ginormo amounts of RAM unless you have a ginormo amount of tabs open. Also like that it doesn't use the explictivly-bad Austripe interface by default is awesome.

redirishlord: Tentacle dreadlocks on argonians don't really look quite right for the race. I mean, it's a cool techincal achievement, but that sort of hair works much better for the asari or the D&D 4e dragonborn. And in the former case, they don't flop around. (OT: Don't like the 4e Dragonborn that much. Elaborating right here will cause me to derail my own thread violently, so I've started a new discussion in the Banter Inn.)
-
I was going to post this on the Argonian Fins mod thread, but I'm posting here because I really don't want to completly derail my own thread. In short, I do not like the dragonborn race in D&D 4e. And yes, name's the same with the Skyrim protagionist - so if you were expecting a rant on that (why would you), this thread isn't for you. If you don't play or are not interested in D&D 4e, then this thread is also not for you, and may fly over your head. So, why don't I like the dragonborn race? The thing that bugs me the most about it it that it's become one of the two most favored races of 4e, the other being the tiefling. This bugs me, because WotC could have gave extra content for the races and classes that could use some more meat, but nooo, let the dragonborn choose between 3 ability score options (when most races only get two) instead of giving the Battlemind something to actually do other than Brutal Barrage all day, or giving other races useful and cool feats. But there's also a major stylistic aspect of the race that bugs me. No, not the breasts on the females (through I don't think it makes much sense) - but the fact that it falls flat on it's major selling point: It doesn't really look that much like a dragon. Sure, the head is very draconic, but it pretty much ends there. It notably omits proper wings - something that has appeared on nearly all other draconic races and draconic options before, but not here because having flight is completly broken for some reason. Not when omitting draconic wings makes the race fall into uncanny valley, and doesn't make it interest players who are looking for a draconic race to play. These issues did factor into the TRPG I'm working on off-site, Born of Legend (which I will post when the initial playtests are ready). I'm trying to make an effort to avoid giving too much support at once to a particular race or class, no matter my (or anyone else's) personal preference. There is a draconic race there (called the Dragonkin), which is intended for those times when you want a draconic character. Importantly though, it actually has functional wings, which help it look like an actual dragon. If anyone wants to discuss this or any other peeves with the system, go ahead. (Note to those reading: I actually really like D&D 4e, mainly for the engaging tactical combat it had. Born of Legend's combat is itself heavily inspired by the system in 4e.)

1.2.6 - Do we still need the NCC Downgrade?
WilliamImm replied to DocClox's question in Mod Organizer Support
I've posted on the CBBE comments. Hopefully the maintainer will pick up on it and upload the fixed installer. -
RESPONSE! As it turns out, the author's account was hacked, and that hacker deleted everything from Tko's account, including the mod. There still is the possibility of reuploading the mod with the update, but who really knows for sure. I've asked for a ETA on when the mod will be back.

I know what I was doing when putting this mod back into testing. Yes, it is a major effort to sieve through and compare all the textures for STEP (and Skyrim Revisited), no matter how it's sliced. However, it's an effort better done sooner than later, if only to help get it over with. We have the mod testers, and I'd imagine there are a lot of gems buried inside this pack. Gems that we should uncover.

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/55707 From the same mod author as the Argonian Decapitation fix. Adds "hairstyles" for the Argonian race with fins - like in the previous games. They apply to both genders, and has a variation with feathers. I'm likely to try this mod out when I return to Skyrim.
-
I'm not entierly sure that's his intention, considering that the Nexus allows you to hide mods for major updates like this.

I've actually PM'd the author about this, considering how weird of a move it was. Waiting for a response from him.

And, also, there are definite updates to make for the Python dependencies. It's better to link to the more recent versions of stuff anyway, unless there is a special case not to: [*]Python 2.7.7 - notably, the 64-bit version CANNOT be used, or else Wrye Flash, when launched through Mod Organizer, will not reconize mods installed by Mod Organizer (due to a MO limitation) [*]wxPython 2.8.12.1 - this is the last version of wxPython that can be used with Wrye Flash as of now, otherwise Flash complains about a invalid color pallete being used, and doesn't load properly. (Let Sharlikran know about this issue) [*]comtypes is up to date [*]pywin32 219
