GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
WilliamImm replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
I'm pretty tempted to make a spinoff of this guide that focuses on using more modern "black magic" scripted mods for a more flexible & extensible game. So instead of Project Nevada, using stuff like JSawyer Ultimate, the item sorting and sprinting mods, replacing CaliberX for Mojave Arsenal, among other things. I do think that a lot of the old stuff there could be done better by newer mods, heh. Pushthewinbutton has done a great job with his own works in that regard. -
GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback

The original mod's version of the WMX plugin (Courier's Stash Integration) also replaced the WMX pre order plugins. As far as I know, this plugin also adds in the extra mods for the pre order weapons, but if they are not showing up, there might be another issue or something with this. Check your load order, Jax? Maybe? See if the Integration plugin is being overwritten by something else. -

I can say this much in regards to the situation, Luthien did intentionally close his account alongside removing all his modifications. Those who know why Luthien did this don't really want to share - something I'll respect. -
Ebony Weapons 2017 Retexture (by OperatorCactus)
WilliamImm replied to rolandito's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
This looks spiffy. Like how they actually tried to aim for a little consistency with Cabal's look of the ebony armor. -
Wryebash deleted all my DLC's from MO, how do I get them back?
WilliamImm replied to znaroks's question in Mod Organizer Support
We can't help you then. All legal versions of the game require Steam. Either you got the game from a bootleg disc or (more likely) you pirated the game yourself. We don't provide support for illegal copies of the game. -
Skyrim Creation Kit Non-Steam

I feel that's low for him though. Thread locked. Original poster banned for harrassment of STEP staff. -
Skyrim Creation Kit Non-Steam

So a guy walks into the forums, asks for something impossible, then gives conspiracy mongering political crap when others point out what he wants is impossible. Is that what happened here? -
I've gotten early access to it. Apparently, Bethesda thought that it's important to get EBQO fit and ready for there. Playing it so far seems to show it as, well, Skyrim, just with what appears to be the high-resolution DLC included and a slightly more refined engine. What did I expect? Some people were apparently wowed at the graphics, but really, It looks like Skyrim usually looks like to me. Still, that and official console mods. Might not be a bad idea to plan guides for the consoles when we can.

Hmm. Should we come up with easy to follow instructions for installing v2 should someone want higher quality trees or the latest version of the mod? Right now, there are none provided.

Irgh. Time to look into another security form for this site. I've already changed my password on the Nexus, don't want this to happen to the high profile mods I have access to.

No way am I buying the $120 edition of this game. If I wanted to spend that much at once on a single game, I would seek out a collector's edition, those give you something physical to have on hand for around the same or even less than the all-digital pack costs. It's questionable in the first place why the game's season pass needs to be $50, when more expansive games like Fallout 4 and Witcher 3 only charge $30 and $25 for their season passes respectively. Kinda damaged my interest in the game, and it seems that beyond the added aesthetic polish, the 10-year old Battlefront II looks to be a lot more complete anyways. Besides, I've got many other games to hold my interest, and I'm anticipating both Fallout 4 and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (now that the Augment your Preorder taint for the latter is gone).

The topic that I was never expecting to see on the STEP forums. I almost was going to moderate this, but...

ACCEPTED Superior Lore-Friendly Hair - HD textures (by skyrimaguas)
WilliamImm replied to FCqt's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Well, the all-in-one installer's been updated with the version I made back in 2013, with a few minor fixes made after the fact. Not sure if STEP would ever decide to user this installer now, but it's there, and hopefully should be more step-by-step... -
Older Bethesda and Fallout games now available at GOG.com
WilliamImm replied to GrantSP's topic in General Game Discussion
I'm glad for this, and the fact that the original Fallout games are once again available. The only problem with those is that the new releases have considerably less extras than the ones that were original up on the site. No Fallout Bible, no soundtracks, only manuals. Most tempted by the id Software bundle, getting Doom 1+2 and Quake along with the bonus Elder Scrolls games. Then again, on the Humble Bundle end, getting Telltale's Tales from the Borderlands, Wolf Among Us, and both Puzzle Agents for $11.04 seems more tempting... -
Yeah. But only the alternate art. Since like you, that's the only part of the mod I'm using. Adding in the other options from this mod would take some time, and would be good to leverage the FOMOD installer for. If the Witcher 3 mode of NMM supports it at all. Also, for the card tweaks, I'd rather seek the original author's permission beforehand, since those are ultimately his. And besides, I want to see if this works as intended in the first place before I make any official uploads. EDIT: Also, the manual camera mod needs to have two script files (playerInput and r4Player, both in scripts/game/player) merged with the counterparts from the HUD toggle and close camera mods respectively. Here are the merged files for ease of use, extract to scripts/game/player in each scripted mod.
-
Oh. By the way, I've decided to do a bit of dabbling to ModKit up a mod for ease of instiation. That is, the alternative art modifications to Gwent. Here's the file to install with NMM in question. Haven't tested, but if it does work, it'll update one more mod to the new format.

DROPPED Fast Travel Timescale Fix (by rolloLG, Hexaae)

Perhaps once I can get myself to set up a working development environment for the game, I'll do something along those lines. -
Star Wars KOTOR2 gets update ten years later?
WilliamImm replied to EssArrBee's topic in General Game Discussion
Wow. I owned Kotor 2 from... I guess the Humble Star Wars Bundle. This was a nice suprise to see, giving that installing mods normally for that game is a clunky, clunky process. Wow. And widescreen without game hacking... wow. Wow. Wow. Seriously. WOw. If I wasn't sucked into Witcher 3 as much as I am, I would give KOTOR 2 a shot just to check out the new update. EDIT: AND done by the same guys who did the Mac/Linux version of Civilization V. Seriously. Wow. -
I'm keeping track of Better Combat Enchanced for my next playthrough of Witcher 3, perhaps after playing the previous games in that series first. The game looks and feels amazing with the mods, that's what I'll say. And def. using the controller quick sign casting mod myself. EDIT: In fact, I'd add this to a section of the guide. This makes the game feel more smooth to play, and is good future-proofing if and when the combat mod does get added. For me, the controller user, I had to replace (with backups, ofc) each of the input_*.ini files in bin\config\r4game\legacy\base with the contents of this file, and used the Antimicro right trigger file from this mod. Credit to them. Have not tried the version for keyboards yet.

I'd have expected the author of Improved Closedfaced Helmets to cover this one at some point, but the helmet is very open already, so I can see why it would have been skiped over. But yes, this mod looks to be a very good-looking and not very intrusive fix to a vanilla problem. Actually, several with the same helmet. This one I can see being included in the Unofficial Skyrim Patch wholesale. As such, Marked for Testing.

Windows 10 - Overall Review and Modding

I'll likely try Windows 10 on my laptop after school ends, since there's nothing critical that I have to do on it after school. Will report back with my results and thoughts. -
GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
WilliamImm replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
Regarding Project Nevada - Extra Options: Both fixes can be dropped for it, as they are integrated into the main mod. Keep the Med-X fix, though, that's for the main Project Nevada mod.
