SKYRIMLE Immersive Patrols by Scrabbulor
WilliamImm replied to skwareballz's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Really wishing that TES5Gecko was finished about now.... Anyway, I can try my hand at making a merged ESP with all the patrols included sometime soon. -
Well, you can turn off the map requement for the map interface off in the latest version of the mod, I believe. Do agree that there should be options to turn off map consumption for fast travel and the map menu.

DROPPED Unique Region Names (by Thingy Person)
WilliamImm replied to blacksol's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I'm including this in my STEP installations from now on. Good find! -
Looks good. One thing that I'd like to see however is the description of the actual in-game effects of the disease left intact. I really do like the idea for immersion, but I do want to see what effects this has on my character mechanically. I'll work on a version with that soon. EDIT: Looks like the author has allowed others to make improvements to his mod. I'll get to it when I get home.

Closer Quivers & Longer Arrows
WilliamImm replied to rootsrat's question in General Skyrim LE Support
To supplement what rpgsc said, Closer Bolts is the recommended option - UNLESS you are using UNP and you want to play a male character. In which case, hide the crossbow bolts. If you don't know what UNP is, or if you do have it but you don't plan to play a male character, then you could be fine with using the normal version of the Closer Bolts. -
Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
WilliamImm replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
By the way, I do think that I'd suggest you add Closer Quivers and Longer Arrows back into the guide. That mod now has a compatibility version for Explosive Bolts Visualized, and I think it's a worthy addition to the guide. Other worthy additions include Ethereal Elven Overhaul (which I personally use), ACE, ASIS, but I'd highly suggest Closer Quivers and Longer Arrows for now. -
implemented Maintain Your System Specs On the Wiki
WilliamImm replied to z929669's question in Wiki Support
Also, can you please add the 1440x900 (16:10 ratio) resolution to the list? It is my resolution, but I don't see it for some reason on the list. -
SKYRIMLE Hectrol CAVES DELUXE HighRes Retex (by Hectrol)
WilliamImm replied to thalastwon's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Well, what about comparing Hectrol's mod to the recently released Beauty of Skyrim - Caves and Mines? I posted a mod thread for that here: https://forum.step-project.com/showthread.php?tid=1492 -
https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/30631/ Found this recently while browsing around on the TPC page (for no reason whatsoever). Apparently, this is a spin-off of one of raiserfx's (of Ruins Clutter Improvement) old mod Skyrim HD Enviorments, and from the screenshots, it looks like a nice overhaul improvement of the caves. Now, the question is, is it any better than the current STEP mods that cover those areas? Defiantly need to compare to Snow and Rocks Textures HD, probably with Skyrim HD, and possibly Redefined Dungeons? So far, this retexture appears to have won out, though we are yet to test the aMidianborn caves. Scene: Exiting Bleak Falls Barrow, immediately after the first word wall and obtaining the Dragon Stone from the boss draugr Vanilla-HRDLC >> Current STEP - Snow and Rocks 2K >> Beauty of Skyrim >> Hectrol Caves Med. Res 2K Scene: a different shot just down the hallway from where the other shots were taken, still in BFB Vanilla-HRDLC >> Current STEP - Snow and Rocks 2K >> Beauty of Skyrim >> Hectrol Caves - Med Res 2K Caves Vanilla >> Snow & Rocks HD >> Beauty of Skyrim >> Hectrol Vanilla >> Snow & Rocks HD >> Beauty of Skyrim >> Hectrol Vanilla is with all the HRDLCs; optimized textures and normals. Mines Vanilla >> Snow & Rocks HD >> Beauty of Skyrim >> Hectrol Vanilla >> Snow & Rocks HD >> Beauty of Skyrim >> Hectrol Snow & Rock HD and Hectrol does not edit the mine texture files.

ACCEPTED Skyrim Realistic Overhaul (by Starac)
WilliamImm replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Yea, that was my mistake. The post was made on a rush, and I was just going to say basically, that unless the mod author uploads a official version somewhere, this mod will not be in STEP. Also, I really don't like downloading from sites that I've never heard of (and the user didn't make many posts, if at all), so I initially took it as a spambot and gave my hasty response. The site is fine - nothing that brings up a red flag. Looks like a guild site, actually, on further inspection.- 425 replies

ACCEPTED Skyrim Realistic Overhaul (by Starac)
WilliamImm replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Well, we don't care. SRO is not going to be included in STEP for the forseeable future. Also, downloading something from a site that I've never heard of - what could possibly go wrong? (Hint: nearly everything. I'm not going to be suprised if that link was infected)- 425 replies

Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
WilliamImm replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
May as well say that Enhanced Projectile Soul Trap has been added to the BOSS masterlist (in fact, in exactly the same spot as you suggested), so the blurb relating to adding it should be removed. -
DROPPED WATER - Water And Terrain Enhancement Redux (by SparrowPrince)
WilliamImm replied to Asimov's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Looks like OpticShooter/SparrowPrince is back - he recently released a cleaned version of Better Dynamic Snow, and he's planning to release 1.6 of WATER, which may have some really nice additions. -
Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
WilliamImm replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
No real objections to SkyRe. That is a really well developed mod, through you might want to consider the fact that it changes a lot of the game. I know that ABT should be removed if you are going to use SkyRe, and Ars Metalica/DSpSoB need patches to make it compatible. Anyway, there's one more mod that you might want to look at: Ethereal Elven Overhaul by nuska. It really overhauls the elves to well, look more like elves and less like goblins. It works with custom body replacers (through you might want to check for seam issues). There is a pre-exisiting patch for SkyRe compatibility, through I have noticed some compatibility issues with Bring Out Your Dead and DSpSoB. Then again, that's no problem for a TES5Edit expert like you, so I'd recommend it. -
@Hvergelmir - Since you are on this site, do you want to take a look at the STEP 2.2.1 working changelog thread? Specifically, from the part I linked to onward. The team compared your mod against a similar mod (HQ Beards), and for the most part, that mod won out, because it was considered more coarse and realistic, while your mod sometimes had mustaches that looked painted on. Sorry if this sounds harsh - this is still feedback to your mod, and any feedback is helpful to make it even better. Also, I am noticing that you have negative 1 posts right now. What, posted while in Minus World or something?

Since you appear to be so concerned as to Enhanced Lights and FX, despite the fact that it changes lots of meshes, following Nevolan's Skyrim Revisited install, the only conflicts are with: Unoffical Skyrim Patch (several meshes for Solitude/Farmhouse interiors, the latter overwitten by SMIM) Better Dynamic Snow (some nordic meshes - don't know how this affects the actual mod) SMIM (which already has a compatibility patch from ELFX) I'm pretty sure the situation with STEP 2.2.1 would be similar to my findings using Mod Organizer. So there's no real concern from me about adding this into STEP 2.2.1. And I think the "pain in the ass to uninstall" comment about the mod is pretty irrelevant to STEP, considering the fact that most people will be using a mod manager to install the project. So, Enhanced Lights and FX not only gets my vote, but I feel it should go directly into STEP 2.2.1.

SKYRIMLE Immersive Content - Exterior Lighting Enhancement
WilliamImm replied to TheCompiler's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
@Nevoalen - I really don't know, but probably not, as Dawnguard isn't mentioned on the main page. I did ask the author in the comments of the mod to make sure. -
DROPPED WATER - Water And Terrain Enhancement Redux (by SparrowPrince)
WilliamImm replied to Asimov's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Here it is. Be sure to read both it and the wiki guide carefully - it is a complicated tool to use, but it is a amazing one as well. -
https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/24740 This really simple mod fixes an issue when using both Dawnguard and the official High-Resolution Texture Pack together. When they are used together, Castle Volkihar looks quite ugly from a distance, due to the High-Res DLC using a version of the needed LOD without the normal maps for the castle. This mod fixes that by adding a higher resolution version of the Volkihar normal map to the needed LOD file. I would say this is a good candidate for STEP, probally belonging in the Fixes section. This mod only has one file (textures/terrian/tamriel/objects/tamriel.objects_n.dds), so it will conflict with anything that overwrites that file (other than Dawnguard and the high-res DLC)
