  1. Okay, so I have 120 comparison shots between vanilla and this mod. This took many hours to compile. I feel confident that we can use this as our foundation texture pack to compare against. This mod replaces EVERY texture in the game, and the author made it in a way that you can literally replace the vanilla texture BA2 files.

  3. Vanilla --> Fallout 4 HD Overhaul
  4. This is being absorbed into the next version of the Unofficial Patch, so dropping this from testing.
  5. The BA2 archive in the main file is named incorrectly. It should either be renamed OVT.ba2 or OVT - Textures.ba2 in order to be loaded by the game.
  6. Discussion topic: Fallout 4 HD Overhaul by luxor8071 Wiki Link This may be a better base to work on than our current foundational texture mods. Using the 2k version instead:

  8. Definitely do NOT clean them. They are NOT the same files as in Skyrim. They have the same names, but it is all Enderal, NOT Skyrim.
  9. Along the mountain range. It's fine that I see it from say Winterhold area where you can see behind the mountain range. I've never toyed with occlusion, so I don't know if that is easy/hard/impossible.
  10. This is why I structure my fomods to install folders instead of files. Makes it dead simple to update the FOMOD.
  11. Discussion topic: PrivateProfileRedirector F4 by Karandra Wiki Link This mod speeds up the reading of INI files by caching them in memory. This is not replaced by Buffout 4, but Buffout 4 has a fix that tells the game to not load INI files that don't exist for plugins that don't have them. This means that the major reason to use this mod (long load times for large load orders) is largely solved with Buffout 4's solution. However, if the mod list has many mods with individual plugin INI files, using this mod *could* improve startup times even more. That all being said, I doubt that we need this mod with Buffout 4's fix.
  12. Discussion topic: xSE PluginPreloader F4 by Karandra Wiki Link This mod is required by Buffout 4. Also note the requirement for the Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022 Redist (you want the x64 one of course).
  13. Thanks for confirming what I have read. The author of PRP seems to have built a good relationship with the Unofficial Patch Team and is no doubt the source of these changes.
  14. Thanks. I hadn't opened xEdit on these yet.
  15. I know we have discussed the issue of cleaning the vanilla masters in regards to Skyrim, and for the Skyrim Special Edition guide it was found to be necessary, especially as regards Large References. However, Fallout 4 doesn't use the large reference system, and there is some general conflicting views in cleaning them in regards to Fallout 4. For instance, the Previsibines Repair Pack, which is the main source for fixing the precombines issue, operates on the assumption that the vanilla masters are uncleaned. I am going to operate based off our previous discussions and decide to skip the cleaning process for Fallout 4 vanilla masters, but I would like to leave this open for discussion based off anyone who has knowledge/experience around this topic.
  16. Accepted for 1.0.0. Use this instead:
  17. I use this and it is an absolute improvement. Marking Accepted for 1.0.0.
  18. Dropping this in favor of There It Is - Satellite Maps For Collectors. Since there is no released guide version for this, I am merely removing the accepted tag.
  19. Moved to 02-Extenders.
  20. Moved to 02-Extenders.
  21. Yeah, I just did minimalist as well.
  22. Nuka-World and Far Harbor are rather hard at low level, so I normally wait till I'm very high level to go there. Loads easier when you can ignore mines (sneak perk I think), hack robots (Robotics Expert), and pacify animals (high level charisma perk).
