Better Dynamic Snow vs bEnableProjecteUVDiffuseNormals
DoubleYou replied to dreadflopp's topic in INI Tweaking
Ok. I am really confused. I thought bImprovedSnow would only affect snow. Clearly, that is not the case. bImprovedSnow=1 bImprovedSnow=0 Edit: Nevermind the above. It appears that I accidentally stumbled onto why T4GTR34UM3R says to set iLandscapeMultiNormalTilingFactor to 1. It appears that setting bImprovedSnow to 0 fixes the iLandscapeMultiNormalTilingFactor bug. Therefore any images taken with iLandscapeMultiNormalTilingFactor set to anything other than 4 are invalid comparisons, since this bug can be fixed by setting it to 1. -
Initially bModManagerMenuEnabled worked to disable the Mods menu from the main menu. They changed that so that didn't work anymore, so I assumed the setting did nothing anymore. Now it seems after investigation that it does disable the Mods listing from the in-game system menu, so I will bring it back, as that is useful. You cannot remove the Help button via INI tweaks. You can grey out the CC for Fallout 4 only.

Do we know if the projected diffuse and projected normal textures are used on things other than snow? Such as the ash on Solstheim? -

How would you guys feel if I disable the "Improved Snow Shader" by default in BethINI? I'll leave it as an option, of course. Or I could just make it a part of "Recommended Tweaks" too. BTW, bEnableProjecteUVDiffuseNormals=1 is a Bethesda default setting for Medium and above presets, which is mirrored identically in the BethINI presets. Other related snow settings that I do not yet know how they affect the game but may prove useful: Skyrim.ini [Display] bEnableProjecteUVDiffuseNormalsOnCubemap=0 bEnableSnowMask=1 SkyrimPrefs.ini fProjectedUVDiffuseNormalTilingScale=0.5000 fProjectedUVNormalDetailTilingScale=1.2000 -

Lemme guess... Bethesda's idea of improving snow is buggy... 😂 -
[Display] sScreenShotBaseName=Screenshots\Screenshot Simple example. It is a good idea. You can even direct it to your My Games folder, for example: [Display] sScreenShotBaseName=D:\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\Screenshots\Screenshot

[CameraPath] bRecord=0 bStart=0 iFPS=30 iTake=0 sDirectoryName=TestCameraPath sNif=Cameras\CameraTest.nif sOffsetID= CameraPath settings relate to the mysterious "Multi-Screenshot" function (source: controlmap.txt) which is enabled by pressing CTRL+Printscreen. It acts as a toggle, almost as if it were supposed to be recording a video??? It saves folders with the sDirectoryName in the Skyrim main folder, but doesn't seem to place any files in there. bRecord toggles something. Testing didn't reveal anything. bStart toggles something. Testing didn't reveal anything. iFPS is similar to iFPSClamp when in Multi-Screenshot mode. If set to 0, everything will be as is related to frames per second. If set to 30, it will regulate the game speed to 30 frames per second, and the faster your performance, the faster the game speed (e.g., iFPSClamp). iTake records the number of the previous "take." If sDirectoryName is TestCameraPath and iTake is 0, the folder created first will be TestCameraPath01. If iTake is set to 60, the folder created first will be TestCameraPath061. sDirectoryName sets the name of the directory created in the Skyrim game folder for each Multi-Screenshot. sNif sets something to do with a nif file??? sOffsetID sets some kind of offset, probably an address in the created file? All in all, these settings are useless, other than to explain the effect experienced if you accidentally hit CTRL+PrintScreen in game. I thought it would be cool if somehow it was some secret video recording function LOL.

Please remember to state the game you are referring to, as this tool is used for multiple games. Since you mention Skyrim Classic, I will assume you are on SSE. It is impossible to disable the Help menu via INI edits AFAIK. The bShowTutorials tweak is broken in SSE IIRC. There is no other tweak to replace this functionality. SSE has no direct way to disable screenshots. You can, however, modify the prefix for screenshots via the sScreenShotBaseName setting under [Display]. This line can change the directory where the screenshots go if you were to specify a subfolder such as ScreenshotFolder\Screenshot. Alternatively, you can effectively disable the screenshots with that line by using an invalid symbol for filenames, such as the ? character. This would tell the game to save a file such as ?12.png, which is an invalid filename and therefore would not save the file. It would still say that a screenshot is created in the upper left-hand corner. You would have to modify the controlmap.txt file to remap the screenshot function. There is a ControlMap_Custom.txt file that can be used by the game to change the control map differently than simply overwriting the original, but I do not know if anybody has figured out how to use it.

You can also export to csv file format.

Now that is good detective work! So the main good tweak here is iLandscapeMultiNormalTilingFactor should always be set to 1 (bug fix). Everything else could use addition to my snow detail settings. Could the SSS in fSnowSSS settings be described as Shadowed Snow Shader?

SKYRIMSE Skyrim Special Edition Default Values for All Valid INI Settings
DoubleYou replied to DoubleYou's topic in INI Tweaking
I had briefly tested the filmic settings, but I really couldn't see much use for them. What are the Snow ones for? It is always good to learn about settings that are dependent upon other settings in order for them to work. I can see this changes the color of something, but I am not sure what without testing. -
It's an easy feature to implement. I just haven't used ENB on SSE enough to know what settings are required.
-
I only have the ENB Mode checkbox for original Skyrim. You have to make the necessary changes yourself for the other games.
-
You can use it at any time. Now if you are changing things like uGridsToLoad, that can cause issues on existing saved games, but otherwise you should not experience any problems using it at any time.

Ok. So I just need to wait until you finish the mod. -
SKYRIMSE Interior sparkles(lighting) bug
DoubleYou replied to Rezzoxe's question in General Skyrim SE Support
Ah. And there comes all the incompatibilities I mentioned with fixing the issue. It would be a good mod, however. Do you experience it on your Nvidia card, Tech? For kicks, I plugged in the Creation Kit and I was looking at the issue I have in the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary. Changed multiple effects (it really is hard to see the effects, since they don't show up in the render window). Figured out that if I move the waterfall splashes Z down to negative infinity, the issue is removed. Of course that's just a brute force hack lol and looks weird. However, I couldn't seem to locate the specific fog effect, as there were a ton of them (I'm a newb when it come to the CK), and it's time for bed. -

I haven't tried these, but here are some fog-related mods that may help this issue: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/4298 Interior Floating Fog Remover https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/7397 Dimmer Fog and More -
SKYRIMSE Interior sparkles(lighting) bug

What are you suggesting? The problem is in vanilla, so said clipping would be vanilla, so a mod would have to be made to fix the problem. -
SKYRIMSE Interior sparkles(lighting) bug
DoubleYou replied to Rezzoxe's question in General Skyrim SE Support
You might ask, but I have no idea how to. I tried reporting the issue years ago, but obviously nothing happened with it. @Greg The waterfall inside the dark brotherhood sanctuary would always do it for me in vanilla. I know I tested it a lot there, and that is when I learned to turn down the Particle count to lessen the issue. -

DoubleYou replied to Rezzoxe's question in General Skyrim SE Support
That's the other problem I have found. Changing settings can cause it to be fixed for the one area, until the next area comes. Probably the only real solution would be a massive overhaul of these kinds of effects. Which would be incompatible with everything under the sun. Unless there really is something simple that I am completely missing. I am glad to see that you also have an AMD card, which even more makes me think that it is a driver issue. I have the issue in Fallout 4 as well. -
SKYRIMSE Interior sparkles(lighting) bug
DoubleYou replied to Rezzoxe's question in General Skyrim SE Support
I myself have this problem with Skyrim and have never been able to solve it. I'm not sure if it is not dependent upon hardware or drivers or if is just another game bug. The only thing that I have been able to do to lessen the issue is lower iMaxDesired under [Particles] in SkyrimPrefs.ini to about 250. But then maybe someone else knows what the actual issue and solution is, as you're the first person I have seen who also has this problem. I blame AMD drivers. I am on an XFX R9 380x. -
DROPPED Not So Fast - Mage Guild (by CDCooley)
DoubleYou replied to TechAngel85's topic in Skyrim SE Mods
If you haven't played Skyrim before, you probably will not notice the difference. You're most likely going to go back and forth from the college a couple times anyhow. This just makes it less linear of a questline, more realistic. If you've played it before, it may confuse you that the quest didn't progress right away if you don't know about the mod.- 8 replies

ENBoost setting for fixing water?
DoubleYou replied to Katarsi's question in Post-Processing Support
Interesting. I guess I should have just promoted my own tool. Lol. -
Fallout 76 is solely an online game. Internet in my rural area is not capable of supporting online gaming at the moment, so there is no real way for me to test it. Also, I am not sure how INI tweaking may not cause problems with the anti-cheat mechanisms of the game.

ENBoost setting for fixing water?
DoubleYou replied to Katarsi's question in Post-Processing Support
I don't know everything, but in my experience when at startup there is a noticeable change in graphics as the game loads, it happens from an outside injector, such as Reshade, Radeon Pro, Sweetfx, ENB, and the like. I am curious, however, if it may just be a graphics driver issue. It doesn't sound like you are seeing ENB loading, as you would be seeing the ENB startup text if you did. Also, the files for ENB are not present. I would recommend that you uninstall and reinstall your graphics driver first to see if that is not the issue.
