Some of those textures seems like they took the .bsa textures from fallout 3 and then just repacked them into .ba2

Lol you touched Ess' nerve Neo.

To be honest though, you are not really seeing what it is about. You have to overlook the Bethesda jank and see a game that sways from emotional to B-Movie rather fast. That is the whole point. It's meant to be cheesy sometimes. The money sound on kills was in Fallout 3 and I quite like it. It's a small reward sound like finding locations.

Tech, I honestly thought you'd like this as it is quite sci-fi with lots of RPG mechanics. I wasn't a huge fan of New Vegas too, even if it had better writing. Don't play Fallout 3 though, this one will be more of your thing trust me. Fallout 3 was very bleak. It is also Bethesda's testng waters for this game, as much as I liked it at the time.

Edit: Saw the game running yesterday on Ultra as my frind did VPN. It looks decent. Not awseome, but decent. I was meant to be heading home quickly after work, but we got carried away on settlement building for a few hours. Haha!

Edit 2: Oh the wasteland storm cloud and lightening look amazing. To see it brooding in the distance was something like out of Mad Max. The volumetric fog works wonders. Easily my favourite thing visually.

I love pc gaming and reddit, but /r/pcmasterrace is cancer.

I tried to do the VPN thing right now to spoof I was in Aussielandia and it didn't work. Just gonna have to wait another 2 hours. Gives me time to finish of the next STE....

You are getting Ess? I thought you were waiting a while you said? Also, your PC is still a potato you said? We tested it on a old 'backup' PC with some kind of 5 year old AMD + Nvidia combo + 4gb RAM and it runs 40 - 60 fps on medium with forced 2x MSAA, textures medium (because it was a 1gb card) and AO off. Every other setting at medium default too and running @900p. At 1080p it still hovers above 30 a lot. Locking it to half refresh caused stuttering though for some reason. Still, it runs alright on potatos.

Well, I usually buy moddable games on console and then play through them. After some mods come out I buy it on sale for PC and go down that rabbit hole. I've been putting off the PC upgrade for a while. Might be time to treat myself to an early Christmas present.

Oh, I've already got the game. It just won't let me play it yet. Steam must have figured out that VPN trick to unlock the game early if you have a Wallaby IP address.

Funny thing is, this is suppose to be the first truely moddable console game. Though I expect it to be limited to BSA/Plugin only mods like what you get with Steam. Any word on that end? I've not heard anything about modding it on the console in a good while.

Hobbit land IP is better than Mad Max land IP by hours usually. My copy is stuck with the Sheriff of Nottingham, quite literally. He holds your games for ransom at his depot for 2 days just to annoy the hell out of you. What a evil man. You better post your character! My pal made Walter White. It  was actually quite good! I think I will make Marty Mcfly as Mcfly works for a first name for Codsworth apparently.

Tech, apparently all we have is early next year and Xbox first. I damn hope I can make a performance mod. It will be glorious! Optimisation is great regardless of platform. As I originally wrote in the OP, I am eyeing that grass as with Skyrim.

I think that is exactly what's going to happen with the Steam Workshop type of thing for XBONE. There will probably have to be a special installation of F4SE(?).

Looks like someone already put together a resource of high res textures. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/62/?

4k screens look pretty good. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/images/45/?

Wait up, that first image looks like it has transparent windows. Actual transparent windows in a Bethesda game.

I doubt half those textures are good for PBR. Lots of baked lighting and shadowing. I guess it does depend on Bethesda's implementation though. Can't wait for the .ba2 unpacker. Please buzz me if you spot it. You think Mator could easily make one? That guy has talent. You should have seen the windows I saw in the Concord History Museum (?) Ess. It looked like a poster of a window stuck on a wall. Probably the worst texture I saw in the game.

Please dear $deity someone fix the AI and pathing I spent 5 minutes boxed in corridor between Dogmeat and Cosworth. Now I am having to revert save because the quest giver is standing on the roof and I can not reach him.

If you are on PC can't you tcl? Also, you can't dismiss them? The dog blocks you off a lot, I can't imagine rolling with the robot. By the way, I heard some guy got stuck in a elevator, so save before elevators.

Geared up in that first armor and took the minigun. Started shooting. I can't stop. I don't care for bugs, graphisms, stuttering, dumb AI or whatsoever. I... Just... Keep... Shooting... Sooo.. Goood !

Btw, the sims-like feature is awfull to use... super-time consuming, and very little satisfaction.

It's only satisfying when you have Charisma for stores and routes and Intelligence for scrapping stuff. You can make so much more then. Our town looked like Ewok village, but with deadly turrets everywhere.
