oqhansoloqo Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Personally, I like the looks of the improved scimitar more than the curved vanilla one... but, the only issue I actually have with using the new one is that a bunch of NPCs are constantly commenting on the Redguard warriors using curved swords. So changing the swords to not really be curved makes the comment even stupider than it already was. :D lol
Kuldebar Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 This was a painless mod to try out and use...I really like it, it's a keeper. No more weapons made from Legos or playdough.
Octopuss Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 I am almost certain the installer is somewhat bugged. I selected the no sheaths option, and it's still installing the wrong meshes (I only tested it with glass greatsword, but it's possible it's not limited to just that).Could anyone confirm?Leanwolf said the installer was made for NMM, but I have no idea what that means for MO users. I don't really understand the various installers at all.
DoubleYou Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Updated the instructions for this. I find nothing wrong with the installer, but then I don't use the no sheathes option. It would be nearly impossible to troubleshoot without knowing exactly which options you chose.
Octopuss Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Meanwhile I confirmed the bug. All of the no sheaths meshes are installed wrong (you get fully sheathed greatswords). Pretty easy to test.
DoubleYou Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Okay, tested this. You must use the NCC installer for this mod, as it uses advanced fomod install code which is not recognized by the integrated one. Dual Sheath Redux version fails for the same reason.
Octopuss Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 What's NCC installer? I don't see anything like that in MO.
DoubleYou Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 See the note on the updated Better Shaped Weapons wiki page: https://wiki.step-project.com/Better_Shaped_Weapons
TechAngel85 Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 I see absolutely nothing wrong with the FOMOD that the internal installer should be messing up...I'm curious what is causing it to not work properly? It's not using anything more advanced than I used in the Soul Gems Differ FOMOD...
DoubleYou Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Funny. It only seems to occur with the No Greatsword sheathes option. I assumed the DSR version would be broken too, but that seems fine on a second look. Testing the Glassgreatsword.nif between No Greatsword Sheathes and with them. The No Greatsword Sheathes option doesn't install for the glass greatsword at least. I really don't know fomods, only know when they aren't working as intended.
Octopuss Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 When I changed the fomod "prefer" option to false, the installer looked different, and correct meshes were copied. I really don't understand all this at all.
TechAngel85 Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 The only thing I can find that might be causing issues is the priority tags. Perhaps the internal installer is not handling them properly. I will investigate.
TechAngel85 Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Well, both installers are completely ignoring the priority so that's not it. At this point, I can only assume that the internal installer is not handling the Conditional statements correctly, even though I can't find anything wrong with them.
TechAngel85 Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 I posted a bug report for this issue: https://issue.tannin.eu/tbg/modorganizer/issues/670
TechAngel85 Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Tannin has fixed the issue with the internal FOMOD installer so no need to use NCC anymore.
