Could you maybe add the option to toggle [Display] bIBLFEnable=0/1 in skyrimprefs.ini in a future version of BethINI? This enables or disables static lense flare effects for things like candles or fires which are controlled independently from [imagespace] bLensFlare=0/1. I was extremely annoyed by them and was confused when they didn't go away after I turned lense flares off in BethINI, so it would be great to either add a separate checkbox for static lense flare or turn it off/on together with lense flare.

 

Here is a quick comparison with the setting turned on and off. It is more noticable in motion, but you can still see it in the shots.

Hello: I have an interesting issue coming up with the use of Beth.ini. This is my 4th complete STEP installation and I am pretty good with modding Skyrim and troubleshooting. I was unable to eliminate a crash that occurred during the opening sequence right as soon as Alduin shouts from the top of the tower. After several hours of troubleshooting, I was able to fix it by reverting my skyrim.ini and the skyrimprefs.ini back to the original ones.

Has anyone else seen this? I am going to play with the individual settings to see which one(s) it is to isolate it further.  Thanks. Took me a while to find this as it is a problem I never had before. Actually had to start with running the program outside of MO and was able to re-create the error inside and outside of MO, using the both "SkyrimLauncher" and "TESV."

Hi, are there particular reasons the BethINI Field of View setting drop down menu has the particular values it does (55.93, 65.00, 70.59 and 85.79, while working with Skyrim LE) or are those just somewhat random values?

The values are based on an FOV calculator, but should not be considered optimal. You can type in any value you wish.

In skyrim.ini, [Papyrus] section, fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=2000 has been set by BethINI. Is this considered safe now? I've always kept it to 500 based on several different sources.

I have never heard this tweak being criticized before. This just increases the loading screen time by 1.5 seconds in order to give scripts a little more time to finish before you start playing. There are several other tweaks to Papyrus that have been considered unsafe, but never this one that I have heard.

Thank you. I will test this in parts if you want. As of right now, the ini files were set on "high" with recommended tweaks. The only box I changed was to run Skyrim in "unwindowed" mode. The ini files now read as follows and let me be clear that THESE INI FILES DO INDEED WORK.

So, the "crash" must be caused by the changes the STEP process recommends above and beyond Bethini's recommended tweaks. Would you still like me to isolate the problem? The only reason I ask is that it would appear that it is a STEP recommended tweak, and not a Bethini tweak, so it really is not your issue or concern.

Suggestion: add some text area in the application where we can add our own settings that will not be overwritten by any presets or optimized settings you click on, for instance I'd like to use the settings NAC uses (mainly for godrays and what not) and also starting console commands:

Suggestion: Make the FOV option also change the current FOV instead of just FOV in new games.

Also: User registration isn't working properly, the e-mail verification you get has the wrong link "/index.php?app=core&module=global§ion=register&do=05" when the correct one is "/index.php?app=core&module=global&section=register&do=05", took me a while to get past this ****.

before i used it i could go to third person mode, now i am unable to, i use my mouse wheel to scroll backwards, and when i do the motion is swaying from left to right, is this normal?
