  1. It would be helpful if you show a screen with ENB toggled off using shift+F12 I assume it's the shadow of the bow of the boat appearing 'lighter' than background? need the w/wo ENB to verify the effect though. It's probably a mesh issue though. I forget which mesh it would be (water mesh, water reflection mesh, etc.).
  2. Good summary. Lesson learned: never store anything important in your horse's inventory. In fact, I think it's bad to have a container attached to a horse. much better that a horse increases your own carry capacity wile you are riding it or within x distance of your mount (or x time after dismount). Many of he quirks stated are why using a horse never caught on for me (disappearing horses, or unable to find horse, or lost items, or wasn't followed, etc.) That said, I vote for this mod and TTaH (and possibly the horse stamina mod mentioned) IF when combined, these mods do not present the compat issues of Convenient Horses.
  3. The appearance of a 'subtle' seam is subjective. Something like the seam will always be apparent at certain time of day and using certain weathers. Does the seam disappear when you toggle ENB off using shift + F12? If so, you are good, Nothing is perfect. If not, you either have Cathedral Weathers or some mod configured incorrectly for CW compatibility. Or you may also need to try another ENB (we haven't extensively tested any of those listed besides Cathedral Minimalist ENB)
  4. Please re-read my post you quoted. I don't feel like you are understanding the problem. You don't need to 'downgrade' your Skyrim. You only need to ensure that your SKSE-related plugins are compatible. I recommend that you re-upgrade back to SSE 1.6.xxx, but that's beside the point. Everything is compatible with 1.5.97, but proper versions of SKSE-related mods may be a bit confusing either way. Also, many other mods you have may require different game versions. You may need to disable ALL mods besides SKSE and SSE Engine Fixes if you continue to have problems using the process I describe below. To be clear: Your mods ARE enabled. Mods are enabled in MO left pane. The error you are getting is SKSE saying "The following DLL files are incompatible with this version of SKSE (or the game)". DISABLE the following mods in MO: Fuz Ro D'oh FISS ? (need to search the MO Data folder for the other DLL files to see which mods provide them) Open MO and go to the 'Data' tab in the right pane In the filter field under the right pane, begin typing in the name of the other files one at a time (hdtsmp64, jcontainers, simplyknock, storageutil) For each of these files, the Data tab view should filter to a single folder that you can expand to see the DLL file and the mod providing that file. DISABLE these four remaining mods by unticking them in the MO left pane. Sort with LOOT Note LOOT messages up top about SKSE version. If it looks good ... Close LOOT and launch the game. If all errors go away and the game menu comes up, quit to desktop Revisit the Nexus page for the 6 mods that were disabled, and download the versions needed for your version of Skyrim (1.5.97 or 1.6.xxx), and re-enable the 6 mods after. DONE. have fun. If LOOT complains that SKSE is wrong version, revisit SKSE downloads and grab/install the proper version for your game version (SE 1.5.97 or AE 1.6.xxx) Re-run LOOT to verify no SKSE complaints. DONE. have fun. The method Mousetick mentions above is useful but better for people that understand the mod files well. My approach above tells you the mods that are causing you issues so that you can troubleshoot those mods and get the proper versions. Post back with results or questions about this process.
  5. This message appears when you have SKSE-dependent mods that have DLL files incompatible with your version of SKSE. Be sure to check each of these mod's SKSE requirement so that they are all in sync. You cn use MO right pane (Data tab) to filter those file names listed (type file name in lower right filter field). Expand the folders filtered in the Data tab to see what mod provides the file if it's not clear by the file name.
  6. Hmmm ... never tried that. I guess a horse IS handier than I had thought in Skyrim. Now that's what I'm talking about, what a PITA
  7. I like horses, you judgemental horse sycophant!
  8. horse taming isn't necessarily incompatible with the mandate. I like the idea, since it adds a bit of realism and control (assuming that the horse considers itself 'yours' once you go through the work of taming it). I just don't play with horses much if at all. They get in my way more than they help. Using horses is just one more task to manage, IMO. I don't even use mounts much in DA:I (but they are convenient for the big desert areas)
  9. From my own XP and what I think I know: High-res textures (I usually aim for 2K, not 4K) - increasing texture res costs in terms of VRAM and memory management rather than FPS in my XP (which really should not be impacted) Using an ENB - small to major cost in FPS (and possibly VRAM), depending on the settings used (look at the main "Effect" toggles ... these are the main features that dictate what ENB features are enabled. Some cost a lot while others cost very little. Adding ENB light sources - small to major cost in FPS as previous Spell effects and other similar eye candy - Mostly GPU dependent, but CPU can also limit. I would expect mostly FPS drops like ENB, resulting in lag. Interior lighting and weather mods - I don't expect this will have much impact outside of some increased VRAM usage Weather mods (including rain and fog) - Same as previous, but rain and fog can depend on how it's implemented and density, but I honestly don't know if either taxes the GPU much without ENB (with ENB is another matter though, see previous) LODs - Can have small to major FPS hit (3D LOD models) and VRAM hit (3D LOD models and texture billboards) Tree and grass mods - Same as previous (using "Level" vs "Billboard" in mesh rules has a dramatic impact to FPS hit) The best ways to keep your GPU happy and run and 50+ FPS is to: Use sensible LODGen tactics and mesh rules for DynDOLOD (high setting is fine, but ensure tree rule is LOD4: [Level0|Billboard4], LOD8: Billboard4, LOD16: Billboard) Be selective for ENB Effects toggles (test impact of each independently using Shift + Enter or toggle (Shift + F12) use 2K max textures (for big stuff) and 1K max textures (small stuff) Keep uGrids at 5 and defaults for DynDOLOD grids/texture resolutions Avoid script intensive mods and mods known to be taxing in terms of scripted events. Reduce screen resolution (but 1080p should be fine) Optimize your display settings Consider SSE FPS Stabilizer for dynamic, on-demand LOD (and other INI settings) adjustments VRAM really isn't much of a limiting factor if you have at least 4 Gb in my XP ... it's more about memory management and drivers ... and having a 64-bit system with ≥ 8 Gb system RAM)
  10. I like that it builds off of LFfGM, so patching with Smooth Shores and other mods may be a bit simpler.
  11. Take care to rename/delete your previous DynDOLOD folder so that you can drag/drop the new version into place to ensure a clean folder. Relics from previous versions break DynDOLOD (e.g., ..\DynDOLOD\Edit Scripts\DynDOLOD\Presets folder contents). I always use the Mega links, BTW. You should also completely replace (rather than merge) DynDOLOD Resources on update and ensure you have no conflicts from previous versions in you mod list.
  12. Yep, makes good sense. So this mod would seem to be a no brainer then. Only one big report that was promptly addressed with a response by the MA, but submitter hasn't replaid with the request for more info.
  13. There is a new tool that makes this really easy now: We will take care of all the tags and such if you don't. If you don't do it, we may eventually, but lots of people have mod suggestions that we may not be aware of, so best to empower everyone to do this
  14. You should post the mod topic for any mod you recommend PS: only if it doesn't exist already
  15. LOL ... ok, so more should be coming now.
  16. I am almost certain that it's an OS-level or display-level issue and not an application issue (although certain apps may be sensitive to it). Since you have multiple monitors, I would test display settings and basically make your OS think that you only have one monitor (the 4K). Make sure taht this monitor is the only one plugged into your box and ensure you are using your optimal display port on your card. Reboot once the OS is displaying your desktop and Windows apps correctly. Update your display drivers (keeping the one-monitor system in place). Verify your display driver settings for the 4k display (these may have different requirements/optimizations). Then check MO and xEdit once all seems kosher (after reboot). Once all is well in this config, THEN plug in your old monitor and troubleshoot the multi-display issues if they persist (hopefully, they will not).
  17. You will need to use a ENB compatible with Cathedral Weathers. We have listed several options on our current Step SSE guide, but most ENBs should mention CW compatibility if they are.
  18. I think he means that the horse doesn't have a default location?
  19. This is posed as an SKSE question, but you are also speaking about MO (which should not be run as administrator, as it causes all kinds of other issues). Also, I don't know what you mean by SKSE not enabling mods. Can you explain what you mean? Mods are 'enabled' via MO. SKSE runtime mods execute at runtime via SKSE. Moved to MO support.
  20. We have opted several times on this topic to drop this one, so marking as such. See OP for the two contenders for replacement and try them out when you can.
  21. Updated OP for comparison mods also in testing. This one has several reported bugs that remain unaddressed for over a year. Not sure about their validity. We know Convenient Horses has several compatibility issues for us. Looks like the new one, Simplest Horses, is the simplest and bug free. I don't play with horses really, so I vote for this one or Simplest Horses, since they are both much simpler than Convenient Horses.
  22. Discussion topic: Simplest Horses (and other mounts) by Hackfield Wiki Link This one is even simpler than the competing mods in testing: Convenient Horses Simple Horse SE Accepted for version 2.0.0 to replace Convenient Horses.
  23. I do think this should be re-marked for testing, since we are using both prerequisite mods, and this would seem to apply. It is also arguable that we don't need XPMSSE and Nemesis though.
  24. your items are recorded in your saves, since it's a snapshot in time ... I think if you remove a mod that adds a new item, a corresponding save could become corrupt though.
