WB is not in the SLE guide instructions. Updated mod page to point to SSE version. It's just a single texture You will need to find an alternative or skip this one. I don't think the SSE version will work with SLE, but I am not positive. I contacted the author about letting us host it. Disregard the above comment on the mod, because there is no way that author can know about what every mod does or will do. Use MO Data tab (right pane) and mod information > Conflicts tabs to filter assets and find conflicts. If VW overrides all assets from Smooth Sky Mesh, let us know. I am 99.9% positive that the bashed patch is not needed. Step has it's own patches at the end of the guide. These also patch leveled list items. Forget about WB.

Good point. We haven't updated those for over a year now. Should be fixed. -

See post linked just above. Therin lies the answers, I suspect. -
They did give those birch trees aspen leaves (ish) While there is definitely variation in aspens (even in same species), they tend to have skinnier, whiter, straighter, and longer trunks/branches than birch. Most aspens in Skyrim look like birch to me (and a bit like [crab]apple trees). I wanted to try some trees that are more certainly aspens. Nature precludes our ability to say things like 'never' and 'always' whilst remaining 'correct' ... so I tread carefully

If you are running Windows 10 (or even earlier versions, unless I'm mistaken), then you are running Windows Security in one form or another (Windows Defender handles the firewall in Win10+ and possibly earlier versions). Windows update can also change the state of native OS security apps. Regardless, you may want to see this topic best answers:

Thanks. Yes, these seem to be modeled after a monoclonal stand in Idaho and likely elsewhere, where they compete for light. Aspens can grow as a 'colony' from a common root system (I believe the Idaho stand is one of the largest organisms on Earth). I did not bother changing vanilla placements, so there are stragglers (and my CK skills are rudimentary at best). I agree that the mod would benefit from some fuller aspens in places, but with straighter trunks than vanilla, IMO. I didn't create the models but rather used Tamu's as a resource. I made plenty of NifSkope modifications though. I do plan on loading these up into Maya or 3Ds Max to rework them at some point. Still have a lot of learning to do yet.

Shouldn't be needed if you use the patch. We don't support the LE guide any longer officially, since we no longer have a curator for LE on staff (because none of us is running LE). As you discover workarounds, we will update things though. ALL assets overridden?

Mutagen / Synthesis Test Drive
z929669 replied to Mousetick's topic in General Skyrim SE Discussion & Support
Thanks for the write-up. It sounds like Mutagen/Synthesis may be the way to go if/when patchers evolve for mods of interest (Requiem for me). I like the ELE and ENB Light patcher concepts. Need one for TCIY and CACO! Could get really interesting as it evolves. -

Perhaps Vokrii then, yes. Either way, it rang true for me. I'm no magic system guru. I always play warrior or rogue with minimal magic ... like a Witcher. I must've read right past that detail in your post then or didn't make the connection. I don't think the CACO stuff can be patched out can it, since they are new records to a unique reference? Unless we can recreate those refs and nullify maybe? Never tried that. I wanted to delete them but wanted to see what you all think first.- 44 replies

ACCEPTED Complete Alchemy and Cooking Overhaul (by kryptopyr)

I am running with both optional files myself (see my last post), so I will take your advice and advocate likewise for our instructions. DynDOLOD complains about this one: Warning: File not found textures\ccor\plants\imp45\ironwood01_n.dds. Used by Meshes\ccor\plants\imp45\ironwood01.nif Complete Alchemy & Cooking Overhaul.esp CACO_TreeIronwood "Ironwood Tree" [TREE:725A9810] We should also patch out these references to CACO missing meshes reported by DynDOLOD, since no meshes are available for CACO that I know of (and no vanilla meshes my these names exist): Warning: File not found Meshes\caco\targettraining0500.nif. Latest alpha works well for me. Haven't done anything extensive though. Just want to point out some typos in the doc if you aren't aware:

So to be even clearer, without using this, you can gen grass cache in 1.5.97 without NGIO, but to get the benefits of "NGIO" you must pregen cache with NGIO and use taht output to override the vanilla *.gid files in 1.6.xxx, which is what this mod does?

I think this has happened to me before in testing LOD. I didn't know the cause until I read this mod's description, so that must've been the issue. It looked like it does flying around using camera and tll and goes away sometimes and isn't necessarily reproducible. It's happened to me when I cow or coc after loading a save. Could be useful for some in edge cases.

GUIDE Creating Tree LOD Models (by The Step Team)
z929669 replied to z929669's topic in Game-Specific
Works like a charm in constructing hybrids (after I found that I needed to account for the extra folder in the TexGen_Output path. I also used your "strip from" method (and CRC script) to construct the hybrids rather than my "copy to" method (and manual CRC). Your way is a tad bit quicker and a tad bit less potential for error. I only did it on some simple aspens, so I have yet to try it on skinned trees, which will be a bit trickier stripping down. Do you remove the BSTriShape blocks from under the NiNode/BSMultiboundNode and place under root block or just leave NiNode/BSMultiboundNode/BSTriShape? I guess I will see for myself at some point but just curious.- 9 replies

SE/AE Compatibility - Grass Cache Pregen

For mod config instructions under 1.5.97, see this section of our guide as well as the resources and foundation sections to get mods you have configured (particularly with respect to extenders and the loader issue). Those with the "expand" link at right of the table, click this to see instructions for the mods you have.- 13 replies

SE/AE Compatibility - Grass Cache Pregen
z929669 replied to burnersaurus's question in General Skyrim SE Support
You should check your .NET FW log (inside that mod or in SKSE/overwrite possibly) to see what is recorded there (and/or get/install Crash Log SE, but that may or may not play nicely with .NET). Check your game file version (right click skyrim.exe > properies > Details), validate files, and ensure you have no lingering DLLs or other stuff in your SSE root folder. Cleaning the vanilla masters is unnecessary and no longer advised by us. Not sure if you are trying to launch a savegame or not, but if that Helgen save is from a different LO, please try launching a brand new game. That's the actual test. Enable Alternate Start mod as well if you use it to make this simpler. I always choose "I own property" > Breezehome. Once you figure out what is causing the crash problems, I also recommend installing all other mods accept for those you know don't touch or contribute anything to the outdoors. Obviously this is more work, but you don't want to gen grass where NGIO excludes it (I think NGIO excludes grass from the cache where it's not wanted/needed, but not sure ... DoubleYou would know for sure). When you gen grass, you should also consider not doing so for unnecessary worlspaces. This script speeds up the process 3x for me (YMMV). or have a look at our grass LOD guide for more tips.- 13 replies
