ACCEPTED Complete Alchemy and Cooking Overhaul (by kryptopyr)
ButchDiavolo replied to TechAngel85's topic in Skyrim SE Mods
CACO just got a "bug fix" update, which includes the temporary patch. It now has a FOMOD to select the correct AE version AND the True Fortify Effect optional included for selection. I am not sure if the cleaned textures are also included, but I guess not, since that is the only other file remaining on the mod download page. DrMonops also mentions more news to come about CACO in a sticky.- 44 replies

Strange "spider-bunny" image?
ButchDiavolo replied to ButchDiavolo's topic in General Skyrim SE Discussion & Support
I did a little more digging online. Turns out it is in fact a file called "enbsunsprite.bmp"in the enbseries folder. removing it, solved the problem. -
I am almost done redoing my graphics list again, following the preliminary 2.2.0 list and the latest parallax mods (drools). However, during a test run in Whiterun, I noticed something odd. When looking at the sky, there suddenly appears a... cartoon spider-bunny...? I vaguely remember seeing it before, but I can't remember which mod is causing it. If anyone knows where it is from, please tell me? See pic.

ACCEPTED aMidianBorn Content Addon (by CaBaL & kryptopyr)
ButchDiavolo replied to Mercury71's topic in Skyrim SE Mods
So far it looks good to me. Maybe it is my imagination, but it appears that the armors looks... more detailed? Of course that could be due to the new parallax mods I installed recently. I haven't really looked into that yet. Well, yes and no. I don't use all the CC armor mods, because they look plastic and ridiculous. And in my opinion "un-Skyrim" (medieval as opposed to nordic).- 35 replies

Mod Updates for Non-Nexus Mods in the Guide

This is freaky... I just discovered by accident that xLODGen was updated and was thinking how "annoying" it is that there is no update alert. And here you go posting this! Thanks -
ACCEPTED aMidianBorn Content Addon (by CaBaL & kryptopyr)
ButchDiavolo replied to Mercury71's topic in Skyrim SE Mods
Well, you know me: I have a well working install, so I am always looking for ways to screw it up But seriously, you made me curious to the differences between the (optional) AMB install and this version.- 35 replies

ACCEPTED aMidianBorn Content Addon (by CaBaL & kryptopyr)
ButchDiavolo replied to Mercury71's topic in Skyrim SE Mods
So, having read through the Mod Page, if I understand correctly, you'd have to remove the AMB plugins installed now and replace them with just the AMB CCOR Content add-on. Then install this file. And any patches from Krypto's patch hub?- 35 replies

ACCEPTED Nemesis Unlimited Behavior Engine (by Shikyo Kira)

Ah, that would explain a lot actually. I am not going to try Nemesis again now, but it would explain why I never got it to work. Thanks.- 54 replies

ACCEPTED Nemesis Unlimited Behavior Engine (by Shikyo Kira)
ButchDiavolo replied to DoubleYou's topic in Skyrim SE Mods
I had looked at the GitHub, but saw no notices/ progress mentioned, which sparked my (perhaps too snarky?) comment on this. Maybe I didn't look hard enough. I did look at the Nexus comments/ bug reports, which was a rather shocking experience to be honest. However, if it is being rewritten, then we should of course wait for the update before deciding. FNIS is indeed officially dead, but still functions as expected, except for mods specifically designed for Nemesis. I have no experience with DAR at all, so I can't comment on how it handles/ implements animations. Since it has not been updated to the latest version, I can't test it out either. For reference: The reason I brought this up, is my experiences with Nemesis and FNIS. FNIS has always worked perfectly and is pretty simple to install and use. I have tried Nemesis several times and each time it threw up so many issues that it was unusable for me. Finding documentation was extremely difficult and the Nemesis team was completely unresponsive. The reason for the issues could of course be my mod list or between-chair-and-pc malfunction. The sheer amount of bug reports and lack of official help didn't help either, so I gave up trying. I understand that others have a completely different experience with Nemesis, where it works right out of the box. I am just not one of them for whatever reason. Since animation "handling" is kind of in the doldrums right now (FNIS not being worked on any more; DAR not updated yet; Nemesis being worked on), I guess having a discussion on it now would be pretty moot. So now we wait...- 54 replies

ACCEPTED Immersive Sounds - Compendium (by lazygecko)
ButchDiavolo replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim SE Mods
Because of my modlist, I am not able to use the STEP patches. So I wouldn't know if it works better or worse. All I know is that I have had these mods installed for years and never noticed any audible strangeness. The sounds are crisp and clear and appropriate for the situation. With the new system/ addons, it sounds even better in my opinion. But again, I don't use the patches, so my experience may be completely different to those that do. Also in my experience with the new system and using Wrye Bash to iron out conflicts with a Bashed Patch, I have noticed some sound settings are overwriting each other, so they need to be manually corrected. Which is, I guess, based on personal preference then, aka using AOS, ISC or the new addons as the preferred settings.- 27 replies

I have been playing for a while with this installed. But, like Cornelius, I have never experienced the bug, so I wouldn't know if the bug is fixed or not. I didn't experience any adverse effects with it installed though. I guess it is handy for people who do experience the bug, but otherwise it more of a "take it leave it" mod.

ACCEPTED Nemesis Unlimited Behavior Engine (by Shikyo Kira)
ButchDiavolo replied to DoubleYou's topic in Skyrim SE Mods
A genuine question: Can someone explain to me why we should use this abandoned, dead in the water, hot mess? Is it just for Ice Skating Fixed? It hasn't been worked on/ updated for 2 years (except an update to the readme). The mod team don't respond to bug reports (besides claiming "User error"). I for one never got it to work properly and still use FNIS, which just works out of the box and is so much simpler to use. I have also never noticed any "ice skating".- 54 replies

Same!

OK, so having actually installed the mod this time and watching the woodland critters go about their business, I did see bunnies "swim". By swim I mean they more or less run just below the water surface with heads/ shoulders sticking above. So far I have seen deer, wolves, foxes and skeevers swim as well. I tested it with a "test" setup which made all creatures flee from me, so they would actually run towards the water (Mod: One With Nature all creatures set to "Cowardly). I guess this mod does what it says on the tin. Having said that, I personally never really paid attention whether animals swam or not, nor do I care very much about it. But I guess for immersion sake this would be a good feature.

*sigh* So like, sometimes I remind myself that I am indeed a moron. I commented before on how rabbits were grazing underwater, right? Turns out I don't even HAVE THIS MOD INSTALLED! *Hi5's self. In the face. With a chair* So please disregard my previous comment. EDIT: I have installed it now, so I will report back.

Help w/Overwrite Files - New Step Build v2.1.0
ButchDiavolo replied to Paes's topic in General Skyrim SE Discussion & Support
As Kattmandu said, the Dialogue, source and cc_ files belong in the Original Data folder. As for the SKSE output, I personally always make an empty mod in MO2, call it SKSE Output and drag&drop the SKSE files in there, keep it activated and keep it last in the left window of MO2. Or you can open the SKSE folder in overwrite and drag & drop the files into the respective mods. -
ACCEPTED Sound Record Distributor (by doodlez, Dylan James)
ButchDiavolo replied to CorneliusC's topic in Skyrim SE Mods
My experience with AOS + ISC + AOS/ISC patch are very positive over the years. So I would vote accept for both. Currently I am testing the SRD versions though. So far it all seems to work well together.- 18 replies

ACCEPTED Immersive Sounds - Compendium (by lazygecko)
ButchDiavolo replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim SE Mods
Also been using this for years without issues. For people using the Sound Record Distributor, there is an ISC patch out here. The same mod page has a "cleaned ISC .esp" file, which is "with unneeded edits removed as SRD now handles that. ISC is typically loaded pretty high in your load order, so there's likely not much point to using this, but here it is". MA mentions in the comments that the AOS+ISC integration patch is still needed with this. EDIT: I have never used Synthesis or said patcher. I have of course used Wrye Bash, which does a pretty good job at forwarding the sounds- 27 replies
