  1. I like how the STEP community is starting to get guides together for the other moddable games...
  2. oh so that is how you fix MCMs. I knew it was something simple because what I thought was that the MCM scripts searched for the esp name. Do you know of any popular mods that rely on the esp existing to function correctly. After Oblivion I kinda want to give skyrim another poke. So I will definitely "take a look"... every time I type that, the line in skyrim is drilled into my head As for the dynamic Potions... i am sure that there are scripts and value that are being overridden.... a patch may be able to fix it... On a side note about the guide... I'm working with Sorie and any suggestions is welcomed... if you feel like editing or adding something -like a description or instructions- message me first because I am working on it periodically... EDIT: I just saw the post on the error in the skyre patcher mods... I guess they've been updated since when I used them. I ditched SkyRE because it thought the patches were inconsistent with each other and didn't want to deal with it. It really doesn't matter anymore... I guess My bad
  3. hate to burst you bubble but CF doesn't work in windowed mode... The second card never turns on and contributes. So... no CF just a single card The only game that ever used my second card in windowed is TESO and it ran bad probably because "beta" testing
  4. The error in frost fall is probably benign.... Is it something like null reference... because those are fine and I would say don't be merging any mods with MCMs... You'll get half working MCMs which you'll easily see. There will be a lot of $ in front of almost all names.
  5. Yesh that is what I was worried about... And weird because that is the exact situation that I was thinking... But shouldn't be a problem since across the world and whatnot... Thats crazy and a little creppy how being across the world is a thing that is just normal.
  6. I took a quick real through and almost everything you suggested is what I have known. There was some interesting bits. for heap size i tried 1024 and worked well... MaxAnisotropy=8 can easily be max out to 16 when using ENB. Note... water blur... Ignore this... I'll take a peak at what the difference is between windowed and fullscreen. performance/feel I can take the lead one the application side of things if you want. As for ENBoost... I noticed little difference in the memory. I run 2x 6970s and I remember there were issues with multi card as well as the full potential on my card wasn't being utilized fully. When I was running two cards I saw 0 fps increase... literally... Both cards were working though, my guess was it was the engine since it has issues. I might take a look into a memory purger that is installed in the background. as for BCFs At the end I was going to include an archive full of them. You can edit what ever you feel like. The only problem I have is I don't know how the wiki handles two edits at once.... yes I like dots...
  7. I think there was a discussion of whether the number mattered or not and I believe it was Arthmoor or the guy that made inconsequential NPCs or GDO. Hmm... I may go hunt the discussion down later but unlikely. Anyhow I believe the conclusion was that most of the records counts don't matter because the engine just reads the number of entries.
  8. theres many problems with MO but not many realize it. That kinda the issue with my guide. It requires WB for pretty much everything. I have almost no experience with Oblivion but should be pretty close to Skyrim. I know skyrim but thats about it. I want to start off with a fixed guide and then expand to sections that are modular and I want to see your install list. I find that documents get... lost to easy... I was using a few guides to get ideas but now i can't find them... I think I have been typing for 6 hrs over two days but I used macros for formatting. Do you know any tricks to increase frames because mine is at the ceiling were hardware doesn't matter. My GPU usage hovered around something really low like 30%
  9. after you said the error I remembered sometimes windows forgets things.. :/
  10. oh in the Skyrim folder look for DirectX10 folder and then run DXSETUP.exe in admin
  11. did you happen to change the SSME settings in the SKSE.ini if so ExpandSystemMemoryX64=false... umm, you try removing the enbseries.ini because why not try it.
  12. I like the idea that this mod presents but the hair seems to have no resistance. It just freaks out, which is worse than the hair not moving.... Maybe time will tell.
  13. Mythic Dawn: Gateway to Oblivion WIP Hey, I need people to kind of help me with the guide since its getting to that point where, its really large and if I disappear then the guide will to. If you want to be like a co-editor then send me a pm. I don't have anyone else that can keep track of mod updates and editing of the guide. Sooo, if anyone is interested then shoot me a pm. This first post will update from time to time. Probably every week, maybe. If you wanna chat with me and other group members go over to Unofficial Chatrooom And by I have. I mean Soire(Red) has helped and merged her guide but has been absent for quite some time because of personal reasons. I hope she is okay. I have not heard from her in ~2 months now, I am assuming she is gone for the time being First off, take a quick glance (yes, its long and a little strange). There are going to be typos There are going to be issues related to mods conflicting. There are going to be issues with Wrye Bash There are going to be issues with the lack of Conflict Resolution for the time being. I took a look not to long ago and saw that CBash does a pretty good job Mods were abandoned. Most mods work just fine but the ones that don't will NEED to be weeded out. In short there are going to be issues. I cannot find all of them myself. That is not going to be a thing. Then come share what you think. Im kinda open to anything. I have kinda of imitated the S.T.E.P. style of things but compressed it into one guide. As I go through the mods, I do a quick assement from the documentation and then put a color with it. If you disagree, make mention of it. I am not really limited to what type of mods but I am on the content. If I dislike it. I am not going to add it. There is going to be a section for player homes, companions and some other things but that is latter and is not going to be something I am going to use but it will be included. I'll be updating the intro info on the guide page eventually. If you see something that doesn't look correct, share it or fix it. Either PM me, make a post or fix it yourself. You can even use the Unofficial Chat I use the top of the page for a more up to date update article. I am wanting a few things before more/less 'Alpha'. A different title, Mythic Dawn is better than the original but can be confusing Here are some suggested ones What do YOU want YOUR Oblivion to be like? This is open ended on purpose. Do you want a fast pace game with pretty good combat filled with story and adventure. So, mostly Extended with some optional mods Tell me what you think Color choices I am by no means creative. So, help me out. I mean look at this post... Terrible color choices have been made I'll appreciate any help/suggestion/criticism/etc. Updated: Nov 16, 2014
  14. https://wiki.step-project.com/User:Hishutup/OblivionGuide I've been working on it quite a bit for the two day I have been typing it. To get it started. I don't really fully understand Oblivion but I am hoping to. I would recommend setting up a macro system using probably the num pad. I have 18 programmable buttons and 12 of them are being used a lot. But other than that it doesn't take a really long time. Especially with macros.
  15. Hmm... I would recommend using enb like some say. Just use the base and then change the following [EFFECT]EnableDetailedShadow=trueEnableCloudShadows=falseEnableVolumetricRays=falseEnableProceduralSun=falseEnableMist=false
  16. At first of reading this. I was thinking that this is exactly like EssArrBee FNV guide but then I read your first post and realized you said fallout 3... Cool mod guide... Ill take a look when Fallout 3 is for $5 on steam.
  17. That ini only touches how fast the starting main menu appears. So it doesn't affect anything.
  18. the skyre ones... *sigh* I have to go hunt the names now... SkyRe Compatibility and ReProccer Patches SkyRe ReProccer Compatibility Patches qotsafanthere were a few in there that were covered in errors
  19. As I was messing with the SkyRe patches and what not. A majority of the patches are loaded with errors. Errors can and will cause your game to crash. Plus for MMO they could be not merged because of the large amount of errors but mashed into one esp.
  20. with windows you only get winzip integration in explorer
  21. I have use win rar for a long time now and have finally decided to switch. Why...? Well, its simple, its the most known, shell integration because I cant get 7 zip to work and I am most comfortable with it.
  22. Get a 4GB or 3GB card... I have a 2GB card and it just isn't enough today. People seem to do better with Nvidia but the price is higher. As for ram ditch two sticks just get one 8 GB. Easier to upgrade down the road. Look at the 300-400 range. The card you're looking at is pretty equal to one of my 6970s and it just doesn't have the grunt anymore. I bought another just to keep up(this was 2+ years ago). Skyrim and most other games don't give a care about processor. I'd also recommend a WD black but that is just me. I chose WD over other any day. If you can afford it go with SSD but a spin drive is okay. There's only load times. Don't do AMD processors there terrible, I have two pretty high end ones and the feel isn't what I like. As for a benchmark on graphics my 6970 with 1k textues, REGS and SRLE... I max out VRAM in cities Riverwood, Falkreath, Windhelm and fps wise I get low 20s to 40s... Thats why I have two but then Skyrim is horribly in efficient with CF most of the time. So dump more into graphics or wait so you can get a high end card. It'll save you regret, headache, if you really want 2k textures a full ENB or have that 'I need more mods' thing
  23. 1.9 to 1.95 GB Hmm.... not bad.... in enb you can save some VRAM by disabling compression and for the ebb water disable pre cache.
  24. ETaC textures are to give each town there own look. All of the textures are 1k and 512. Vanilla textures just mean to use the original base mesh rather than the unique ones that MissJennaBee edited
  25. oh remove the font edits from your ini... if youre not using the English Darnif UI I was helping a friend and this was an issue
