1. yeah.... Thats what I was afraid of and why I don't use MO... I believe its MOs limitations... Tannin might have an idea post to the MO bug report thing...
2. Its a limitation that Oblivion has that is by no means hardware...
3. Ah, yes, I did have two different things... A generated page and a Semantic form.. Since, the generated page is not possible then how would I implement semantic forms... I was taking a look at it and I was clueless on how to do simple logic... Anyone can write c/cpp logic but I have no idea how to do basic logic using semantic forms... For the example above, is there someone that knows it well enough to help me understand it?
4. as for the more heap thing you can do both... you can replace the algorithm and/or change the size but hey I am just looking at the setting in OSR like below OSR ini Heap = {iHeapAlgorithm = 6iHeapSize = 768the default size for Oblivion is said to be 450 Generally the size doesn't matter but it definitely helps with The game is definitely engine limited, poorly optimized, etc... thus on modern hardware, it performs sub-par It was developed for 512MB AGP cards(not 100% sure about this) but it was developed for shader model 2.0 with some 3.0 but cards at the time had trouble even with 2.0... current is SM 5.0 Thats why I left it out... I can't get above 30 FPS even with [General]uGridDistantCount=15the above tweak is not UGridsToLoad... So, don't get those two confused Take a look though what my guide is in the current state... Its kind of a mess but it's slowly getting cleaned up and Im about halfway. Then I have to do conflict resolution I have yet to figure out what causes frames to dip Since, you're using a 780ti, I can guarantee you won't see 50% of the card be utilized The engine doesn't have a problem with 4K res... Downsampling works pretty well 0 frame drop You can even inject smaa Streamline is a pain in the a**... I need to get more into it As for monitoring whats going on... I look at my keyboard... Its got an LCD on it that MSI can use Oh.. As for most modern hardware most of the performance tweaks don't work. Like the sound thing But water reflects do a good amount + the distant thing
5. I cleaned up some stuff... I need to add a new thing I like... BUT If anyone reads this.... What do you think about the different formats in this section... https://wiki.step-project.com/User:Hishutup/OblivionGuide#Weather.2C_Sound_.26_Lighting Yes, I know its all over the place. Its because I am trying to find something I like... I hope to hear opinions, suggestions, etc...
6. I have never got that error when creating my own for my guide... It seems that it was looking for a file that doesn't exist, meaning its not there, different name, different folder(s)... BCFs are really picky...
7. as for the AMD alternative... playing with the multi card stuff only seems to make it worse... very poor performance flickering Orange menus serious lag But that is my experiance
8. for that example yes... each selection will unhide one result and the others are hidden. Down the road I am positive that selection the correct group of patches is going to be a pain to explain. Since, the Guide loaded with choices there there are going to be many different combinations of Load Orders I'm hoping with the proper bash tags, the need for patches will be greatly reduced compared to skyrim...
9. As for cleaning mods, I just took the values from BOSS meaning they could be old, I will go ahead and clean them again and put the values that I get and that whole variations thing is reds... and yes you are correct... good catch we are both becoming more and more blind as the guide comes along. Format is all over the place but I think we are starting to figure it out.
10. moreheap is unneeded... OSR also does heap replacement but needs to be configured (turned on) streamline is tricky to config correctly.... BUT there is a memory purger (cell buffer) included with Streamline Stutter is tricky because theres many parts: Memory swapping hardware limit engine limit memory can kinda be fixed with iPreloadSizeLimit Hardware is unlikely to be reached The engine is the main culprit. You can test it yourself with Really AEVWD. My GPU usage hangs around 30% while my FPS is 15. I do know Oblivion has a memory leak... It grows pretty quick but most people shouldn't hit the top. It takes like 6 hrs for 2 GB RAM The goal of my guide is to have a good feel to the game. Not slow, laggy, etc. but at the same time be fully loaded with a broad choice of mods.
11. First, I am not 100% sure this is the correct location. Take a look at this first: Okay, as you see for the patches even for two different mods telling/showing the user the correct patch is going to be tricky for when there is more patches. Is there a way to have a guided list. For example, when a user is at that location hey/she will see selectable boxes. So that when the user select both UL + Let the people drink that only that only: Check00 ROC +UL Imperial Isle +Let the People Drink shows up. This isn't a big deal with two but when there are many more it'll become cluttered. Is there a way to apply logic to text to hide/unhide when needed? Is it a feature that could be added or be too difficult? Is there a way to add logic elements to text? I'll mock up something to visually explain it later. The best guided list I can think of is Newegg.com Where you can pick categories and then individual sub categories. Then give a list of all the things that match. If this is completely impossible or isn't worth the hassle then i'll look into a new format.
12. ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=false It happened to me AA AF are not super heavy... I would also say EnableCompression=false Unless you have VRAM problems. If you did the DDSopt thing with a 1k limit you should be fine... I have 2GB and I had all 2k and 4k for what I could find You might want to also reduce ReservedMemorySizeMb=512 to something really low... 64 or 128
13. what is you enb local settings use a spoiler
Text Here
14. textures don't directly affect Frames... but like I keep saying they can if the card maxes out VRAM which can cause low frames. The original poster is fine on VRAM
15. As far as I can tell it only has an effect on VRAM... VRAM will only affect performance if its maxing... Yes, most bethesda games are poorly optimized. If they remade the engine for each game and sold it, Im positive people would purchase it. They could do the whole 4A strategy: Overhaul the game and slap Redux on the end of the title and resale as a new game. ENB sometimes does weird things... If memory serves correct on time this happened: Initial FPS = 30 50% on both After disabling all effects FPS = 25 30% both Enable all except TAA FPS = 35 80% both Why IDK... I wish I had screens because it was weird After disabling CF everything is half... AMD 6970 CF
16. You only need OSR... Plain and simple... You can even do a test yourself. There a lot of "fixes" out there that are not needed. Just be aware. And the Bash vs OBMM seems out of date... meaning some things have changed. Omods are archives themselves. Its easier to do the install procedure I have described above. The reason I use Wrye Bash is because of many reasons that are pretty hard to describe... uninstalling a mod with files that overwrote another it will reinstall the previously overridden files visually see installed mods, patches ( this can be a real pain if a mod is Load Order aware) wizard.txt support directly edit the archives (7zip) monitor external install (.exe support) etc... and wyre bash having OMOD support... I see people claim that it does but its never worked for me
17. Its the same thing with Oblivion... In one location you may have solid 20FPS (20% GPU usage) with nothing but base game After using ENB, SFX with SMAA, 4k downsample, and installing textures galore it stays at 20FPS (75% GPU usage) I even Added a downsampling section in the guide because 4k is actually doable with 0 framedrop I don't know what it actually is though... Some say polys... memory tweak dont seem to affect FPS but rather stability and stutter
18. Type pcb into console... I remember my game being perfect until about 10 hours in... I later installed a purger, I am unsure of long term effects. Unless you are consistently maxing VRAM, generally textures shouldn't do anything to performance
19. I've noticed that in some locations, my GPU usage does the same... Frames will drop but the usage stays around 50%. After using ENB and smaa my frames stay the same but usage increases to 85%. I don't think there is a fix. Oblivion does the same thing, its just accepted. I think Skyrim is the same. Maybe someone knows a trick. In your case textures don't matter, you have 3GB VRAM. DDS only applies to people with less than 2GB
20. That's kinda what I am saying but on the flip side... Almost all of the sound processors are the same... just rebranded with different software and components after the DAC. Meh, its one's preference...
21. like tech said about motherboard audio... I would tend to disagree. My Asus Crosshair IV (ROG) came with a garbage sound card. The sound was thin, tinny, and very difficult to have control over and overall very quiet. I later got a Asus Xonar Essence STX and that is amazing. Drivers are a pain but trick is to burn it to a disc and then run them from the disc... Windows permissions :/ After owning the card for 2.5 yrs it did break (poping and fuzzyness) and after an RMA, I am good for another 5yrs now. It was the 4 band headphones. You need to use that adapter. The card also sits between to hot (95C+) graphics cards. The card is easy to repair if you have a basic understanding of electronics. The Op Amps are pricey but meh... I also have an Asus Xonar DS and its ok... nothing compared to an essence For an SSD replacement I still use 2x 1TB in RAID 0 and they dont do half bad. Yes, its fake raid, one of these days they'll be hooked up to my RAID card. Dump your money into graphics with high VRAM 3+GB Processor doesn't matter as long a its a decent one -or if you like to render video- the FM2 socket processors are terrible stick with AM3+, 2011, 1150 RAM 1 8GB stick is more than enough 1600MHz+ (I use 1866)
22. you're missing textures thats what the purple is... the black is one of the following: mesh errors (I doubt this) VRAM problems (I believe it this, thats why ENBoost exists) Another unknown reason, meaning I have no idea... hmm.... click the archives tab that next to the plugins and what do you see which boxes are checked... list them and use aberrations or link a pic...
23. nope I need to do monitor external installation for it to work... It works pretty good BUT if you do get it to work I am unsure how well... EDIT: MO has many troubles down the road. Especially with external applications... GL with UL patches, wizard FTW fast exit is included with OSR OBMM was superseded by TesModManager Wrye Bash does CRC and has wizard support... Its complicated but once you have a ton of individual mods you'll understand why I talked Red into WB even though it does have a bunch of issues. AND don't use that qarls use this one... The omod one is incomplete https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/44772/?
24. wait... The ssme log is perfectly fine no issues... The reason for my last post is because you said something about TES5 not overwriting correctly and the Enb dll just not working and I became blind to that... Hmm... after looking at the entire thing again... Remove Skybirds and skytest ppl say those don't have issues but I know they do. Edit: Just nitpicking but I would say create your own weather patches. Sometimes the two overlap and are not properly patched. On a side note you probably want to leave out one sound record its in COT sound, solitude, solitude march ( its repetitive and very annoying) you'll understand once its removed EDIT 2: A lot of users claim Enhanced blood can cause crashes and I would agree with them but I like it too much. To get to the bottom of the in game crashes leave it out. Im unsure of any special uninstall procedures. Remember everybodys PC is different, your results may vary. EDIT 3: some say DSI is also to blame, I disagree. EDIT 4: Just naming ones to take a closer look now. Locational damage (even apollo removed his version from DCO), BFS (no opinion) EDIT 5: head tracking(no opinion)
25. like I said, something is screwed up... You would have to screw with it for (a) hour(s) to find a solution... There are so many possibilities and I really do not want to type them. You seem to have an issue that is probably super simple but try: disabling UAC Yes, Yes we know STEP does not recommend this but try it remove custom graphics control profiles re run the exes that are in the skyrim directory (VCRedist, DotNetFX, DirectX10) try playing with all the values (enblocal, SKSE ini, etc) Some Mod is going to remind you to back up your stuff reinstall graphics drivers play with the TESV file properties/ compatibility section reinstall the game (try a different location) MO probably screwed something up (re start from ground zero) reinstall windows If it isn't one of these then you're going to need to dedicate time to try literally everything. Once, you figure it out come back and share. In all honesty it'll probably take any higher ups and me a few minutes to find the solution but GL. I may add more later but it is unlikely.
