ACCEPTED aMidianBorn Book of Silence (by CaBaL)
WilliamImm replied to EisDrache's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
It does look much cooler. Hey, even the Core definition can bend for Rule of Cool. Sent from my Optimus G using Tapatalk -
Go with Immersive Real Stars + HDR Nebula. The vanilla background is irredeemably horrible. I'd consider this the "water rule": if the vanilla version is so horrible that nothing will save it, any change from it (as long as it fits) is Core. Sent from my Optimus G using Tapatalk

It will conflict with EDT2 and the HQLod textures for sure. Not sure if this replaces the noise.dds texture - if it does, it would replace EDT and/or HD Enhanced Terrain. HQLod meshes are prob. safe.

...static electricity? Seems to be the only explanation that makes sense...

ACCEPTED Consistent Older People (by Winterlove)
WilliamImm replied to Kelmych's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Then again, just about all the lore in the Elder Scrolls games should be taken with a grain of salt - the only events that for sure happened are the ones that the Player Characters experience. -
1. There's actually three original problems. The first is that the Soul Trap spell did not actually show an actual projectile, making it really hard to tell whether you aimed the spell right. This problem was due to the spell using Target Actor instead of Projectile for the type (the former not showing the projectile for some reason). The second is that the hit effect mesh for the Soul Trap spell is broken, also making it hard to tell whether you aimed the spell right. The third problem is that trapped souls can fill up gems that have a higher value than the soul is actually worth (eg: Petty going in Grand, Black soul gems carrying non-Black souls). The last one, however, is debatable as to if it's a intentional choice or as a bug. 2. ASG fixed the third issue with a new soul trapping mechanic, but that required modifying each effect that Soul Trapped to support it. EPSG modified ASG's fixes to include fixes for the first two problems, including a fixed mesh for the Soul Trap projectile. 3. The USKP includes EPSG's fixes by default, so the latter mod is no longer needed. Additionally, due to the game not being updated anymore, Smart Souls is a viable option since it does the same as ASG and does NOT require any ESP modifications to work.

If autosaves/quicksaves were as buggy or broken as they were in Oblivion or in both Beth-developed Fallouts, then this mod would be needed.

Yea. Sorry. However, this is the point at which most users should have all the DLCs bought (either through Legendary or bought seperatly). This is a great time, however: Steam's about to start one of their big sales, and you can bet that Skyrim and DLCs will be included.

*Dragons Shout with Voice. In any case, yes, you have my permission to use Disease Descriptions in the STEP patches.

...Wow. I own so many old games (console and PC), but one game that I actually really remember playing and loving was, well, RollerCoaster Tycoon 2. In fact, I still have my original disk for it in my computer room. For console games, I did really like the first Paper Mario game when I played it. That's what I remember from my younger times. I think we also had KOTR - and, well, I like playing that in present day and age. EDIT: Oh, thanks for reminding me, Ess. I really, really liked the first Metroid Prime when I played it.

I don't think it's needed. skse_loader.exe chainloads into TESV.exe, and the settings for TESV.exe should be used.

SKYRIMLE Better Xbox360 Controller - 8 hotkeys quicksave -load and more

In any case, can you imagine how hard it is to use a controller with flippers? At the very least, I am ninja-like using the keyboard and mouse (managing to play fighting games with just the keyboard). It was a really useful secret I learned from Strong Bad - apparently, typing with flippers is very much like typing with boxing gloves on. (No, don't ask me how I do it) (In all seriousness, yes, I am seriously good with the keyboard and mouse in RL, even being able to play Street Fighter well using it. Must be because of all that time using command lines...) -
In any case, I have set up a wiki page for the project, through it's really more of a placeholder at the moment. First thing I'll do is talk with BGS forum user Dubiousness about how to go about this guide. He's a walking resource on Oblivion modding - where I got a LOT of my help and advice from. If he is able to, I'll also ask him if he could have a active role in the formation of this guide. EDIT: I've PM'd him, additionally inviting him to join the forums. In any case, I should learn SMW writing - I want the guide to look as pretty and neat as Neo's efforts. I did ask the user about a few important questions - namely, if I should just DDSopt Qarl's instead of using the current texture pack arrangement, if I should use a different Oblivion overhaul, and if MO or Wrye is better for Oblivion installation.

Well, I bounce around between Cinnamon and KDE. Cinnamon is a replacement for GNOME 3's UI to make it more intuitive for desktop users (right now, GNOME is heading towards a more mobile focus - not that good for us desktop users).

Or, and this is what I prefer, I would use Cinnamon (Mint's custom UI for Gnome). Sent from my Optimus G using Tapatalk

I looked at that. Wasn't as comprehensive as the ESP using book replacers. -
SKYRIMLE Mystery Modders Giants HD by Mystery Modder
WilliamImm replied to DoYouEvenModBro's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I think StarX did a decent job with his giant retexture. AV only, but still. Generally, yes, Mystery Modder, when he's not doing mushrooms or divine shrines, would be just another "upscale and add noise" artist. Same applies here. -
SKYRIMLE Better Xbox360 Controller - 8 hotkeys quicksave -load and more
WilliamImm replied to Ubeogesh's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
...and what's wrong with playing with keyboard and mouse? It's not like Skyrim requires extremely precise movement - and besides, you have a lot more hotkeys on the keyboard that you can use for tons of stuff... -
Ubuntu is the defacto beginning distribution. I've heard that the latest release is actually very good. Sent from my Optimus G using Tapatalk

Blocking *all* torrent activity? Isn't that extreme? Torrents can be used to transmit perfectly legal stuff - Linux distros use torrents legally for redistributing their ISOs, and there's a whole site called LegalTorrents that hosts... well, guess. They may be commonly used for pirating, but not always...

Because (at the time), I thought that the suggested texture packs would sufficiently replace Qarl's. That being said, I may end up using that once the actual guide is implemted, with DDSopt optimizaton. It all depends on what I want to do. -
Same with rootsrat: I used Dolphn, but I ended up switching to Chrome. Also: even through I am a technician, I still would use Avast over MSE (or Windows Defender). Becase, ya never know. If I had money to spend on antivirus programs, I'd get NOD32 or MalwareBytes, but I think I'll stay with (and love) the combo of Avast and TinyWall. (In fact, the only thing MSE/Defender did, really, was flag WeiDU as malware. WeiDU being the main mod installer for Infinity Engine games, and not in any way a piece of malware. Hey, at least it's not McAfee.)

DROPPED Closer Quivers and Longer Arrows (by EvilDeadAsh34)
WilliamImm replied to stoppingby4now's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Synixtrix: Is that folder within the meshes folder? If so, that is the correct place. Never heard of the installer misplacing files.
