  1. Conflicts with ECO. Might not be needed.
  2. Looking through xEdit, this mod's conflicts are a bit of a mess. We should compare against Quest Tags Redux because it looks like it may be better in this regard. This may honestly be a good candidate for a Synthesis patcher.
  3. Discussion topic: Quest Tags Redux by ThePrinceOfHell Wiki Link Test against Quests Tags - Factions and radiants and more
  4. Looks more like you are missing a terrain noise texture with sufficient noise to make it not look blurry.
  5. Discussion topic: DLC Timing UFO4P Patch by VishVadeva50 Wiki Link While checking conflicts, I saw this mod needed a patch, to which I found that VishVadeva50 has already provided for us as an esp replacement.
  6. Thinking about this further, I don't like the idea of hiding the textures. There is at least one specular texture that it adds that isn't provided by the game/mods, and it would be missing. So I am going to opt for choice 2: Keep the textures ba2 and allow it to overwrite our texture mod's speculars and hope they look ok. Given the nature of the guide mostly sticking to similar-to-vanilla textures anyway, I think it rather unlikely there'd be an issue where this would be problematic.
  7. I don't want to hinder the future possibility of providing a Wabbajack or Collection.
  8. Along with the other mods I indicated by this author, the author has explicitly banned my adding it to our guide with this line: Therefore I am removing this from our accepted list.
  9. Due to landscape changes and such, I do not believe there would be a simple solution to your issue beyond a patch provided by the author.
  10. I haven't tested. Should just be able to modify on the custom tab in BethINI.
  11. Those mods are not updated for the latest runtime as of yet. There is a thread here that has been tracking this for the mods in the guide: You can simply skip these fore now.
  12. Oh yes. It was quite miserable. Very weak laptop. Had to use HialgoBoost, which was a popular mod back in the day for potatoes that would pixelate the image to improve framerate. Some places were 15 fps. Pretty sure I prematurely killed the poor thing playing Skyrim. When I upgraded to a laptop with an AMD APU, I was in heaven by comparison.
  13. Following some of the discussion Nightfallstorm relates in the comments regarding iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes:Papyrus, it sounds like he knows what he is talking about, and it doesn't really surprise me. I remember on my old Intel HD Graphics, I had to increase these values, against the conventional wisdom, for my potato laptop to even play the scripts without failing due to how insanely slow it was.
  14. I wouldn't say that. That's a rather extreme statement. I merely express concern about long-term viability.
  15. I'm more worried by becoming too heavily dependent upon mods that require an active maintainer against Bethesda updates to ensure usability, especially in cases like this author, who has a ton of mods that would need updated, and very candidly posts about the unavailability to provide significant support. I mean, he says... This could easily result in the bricking of mods that require it if the game receives an update and no update is provided. We have this annoyance already with the .NET Script Framework, which we were forced to drop, along with mods requiring it.
  16. The ini settings used by BethINI will by default grab the language that is already in your INI file. If switching languages in between, you will need to either delete your INI files and regenerate them via the launcher, or modify the language to reflect your updated preference in the Custom tab of BethINI. I'm honestly uncertain about what value corresponds to each language, but the default for English appears to be "en." I am unsure if German would use "ge," "de," or "german." Only way to be certain would be to delete the INI files and regenerate from the launcher first.
  17. I find it interesting that he recommends increasing iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes:Papyrus ini setting. Since he has reversed this, he likely knows what he is talking about, but that has been against the "accepted wisdom" for the setting. I never personally tested them.
  18. Gog provides different files, most notably a changed binary, for the game. SKSE Plugin authors may choose to only support a specific version, and Steam is what most have, and what is widely tested against. There may be unforeseen bugs due to this.
  19. Discussion topic: Fallout 4 HD Overhaul 2k by luxor8071 Wiki Link Luxor8071 has released a lower resolution version of his HD overhaul. This is probably preferable for the Step setup, provided it doesn't degrade quality too much. Notably, he has 512 resolution LOD textures on this page instead of the overly large 1k ones, so I may test using it instead of HD LOD Textures. See detailed compares in the original mod's topic:
  20. Alternative ultrawide fix:
  21. Discussion topic: Ultra Wide Interface (21x9) by Aigni Wiki Link Alternative widescreen fix that can be used instead of Truby9 Ultrawide. Most notably it fixes icons missing in workshop screens.
  22. Discussion topic: Long Save Bug Fix by Nukem Wiki Link Github Link Given the way things have been, I think it is fair to say that it is not entirely likely that this will be integrated into Buffout 4 any time soon, so I think it would be good to provide this fix in our guide. It fixes a game bug as described on the Github page. Basically there is a game bug that can cause script-heavy mods (such as Sim Settlements 2) to cause save games to take forever to load.
  23. This sounds more like a Previs issue to me.
  24. I would just put it in and see if it works. I have used it successfully before, so it probably is compatible.
