  1. Is anything else changing? If not, BethINI is unable to edit the file for some reason. Include one of the logs in the BethINI cache folder on paste in and your current INIs.
  2. So you don't get the iMaxAnisotropy=0 when doing that? You certainly should. Are you looking at the correct INI files? Are you merely missing it? I can't think of any way the line could simply not exist after using the tool.
  3. You can choose to use either the ENB AF or the game's AF or your driver's AF. That's all the user's choice. Honestly they all seem about the same to me.
  4. Version 1.1 released. -Bugfix: Particles could have duplicate preset numbers after the GUI was refreshed after certain actions. -Bugfix: 3rd Person Arrow and 1st Person Bolt Tilt-up Angle settings were not being correctly refreshed. -Bugfix: Mouse wheel zoom speed message required a space between the word "to" and the value it was set to. -Bugfix: Mod autodetection had a lot of bugs in it. Should all be fixed now. -New Tweak: Wetness toggle for Fallout 4 under Detail tab. -New Tweak: Motion Blur toggle for Fallout 4 under Detail tab. -New Tweak: Ambient Occlusion dropdown for Fallout 4 under Detail tab. -Unlocked Tweak: Object Detail Fade for Fallout 4. -Added support for Enderal. -Added a controversial tweaks detection system which allows the user to set detected controversial tweaks to their recommended default values or keep the controversial values if desired.
  5. I just finally got Enderal, so I will update to include full support soon. Not sure how I want to handle some of their controversial tweaks. Thankfully, most of their added lines have no effect.
  6. There are a bunch of things that are barely noticeable that I tuned down, such as decal draw distance, trees and objects loading from really far away. The point of Ultra was to turn everything up to the maximum noticeable value, whereas High is optimized more for actual gameplay. You could tweak some of the things on High to go a little higher at your own discretion, which is what all the choices are there for.
  7. You should try the high preset and see how you like the performance. Edit: Also, Tech, could you send me your log so I can see if I can figure out why it didn't detect your Mod Organizer install.
  8. You're confusing shadow blurring and shadow filtering. Default blur is 5 and default filtering is 3. Neither is 4. I haven't seen any difference with any setting of shadow filtering between 0 and 4 in Skyrim, and believe that it cannot truly be changed in Skyrim, whereas in Oblivion I know it has a very significant effect. Shadow blurring, however, has a quite significant effect in Skyrim, and ENB is affected by its value, which it reacts differently according to the value you set it, which must be at least 1, but recommended is 3.
  9. Just have people set it manually. It's just one extra slider.
  10. @baron It should automatically find your profiles, and you should be able to select it from the drop-down INI Path under Setup. If it worked on spINI it should work on BethINI. If it doesn't, see if it is putting it's log files in your profile directory and pastebin it to me. @Tech Was SFO active in your load order? Or did you not click a preset? I have it built into the presets, so just open and close won't work. I plan to add the INI parameters to the tooltips.
  11. That would seriously skew benchmark results, Tech. It would make more sense to put it at the beginning of the guide.
  12. I know that Skyrim doesn't have any mouse acceleration. Fallout 4 I have not checked yet.
  13. Mouse acceleration only exists in Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas iirc. I haven't touched that yet.
  14. BethINI High is definitely the best preset for all users for Skyrim. It is my most optimized preset. The mountain settings are slightly different, I believe, so I might have missed some flickering on the ultra values. Ultra is mainly for screen archery.
  15. @DocDoBig Thanks for the feedback. The only other thing you might try is increasing your fov (use the console fov command) and see if you can't get a view of the entire map. There are a number of ways your map could have been bugged to cause it to CTD. I have a number of checks in the program to fix many such errors, so it is very possible it was one of those.
  16. Any tweaks recommended for all users I would want to know so I can add them to the Recommended Tweaks checkbox. @hishutup It sounds like you are wanting the Wrye Bash INI tweaks kinda thing. I think you can make those with text files. Or you might see if a plugin INI would work, although I don't know if they exist for Oblivion. @Kelmych Provide the name of the ESP and I can make a rule for it. Realize that such rules would only apply after the mod is installed, so you might need to have users run the program twice.
  17. Tick the "Fix Map Menu Navigation" checkbox. You should hover over it and read it. Basically you probably are going to need a straight down view, which you can get. I'm not sure that it will work, because of the dynamic nature of the map, unfortunately, but it might. Relevant INI settings are discussed here: https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Skyrim_INI/MapMenu
  18. Yes, I need to add more features to the Fallout 4 version. And the resolution thing could be improved. It's designed so that it should detect your native resolution, however, and put that on the list, so I have pretty much left that on the back burner. Vsync is there. You must have missed it. Pipboy color is much easier to modify within the in-game settings, and you can see them instantly in-game, so I probably won't be adding that. As for the advanced tab with all the settings exposed, I don't think I'll be doing that. That is like a lot of work for very little actual functionality. Your favorite text editor is perfect for that kind of thing.
  19. Thanks for the kind words everyone! I might be a little sparse, as I'm trying to focus more on real life at the moment. There's some important stuff I need to make sure I handle appropriately. Found 1 bug so far that was a stupid minor error that will be fixed next release: -Bugfix: Particles could have duplicate preset numbers after the GUI was refreshed after certain actions. @Tech Yes, this is now in a state where I can recommend it to replace the INI section of the official STEP Guide. @Tyler799 This is a correct observation and correct behavior at this point. I may add a check to remember this at some point, that was a lot of code, and I'm still developing it, so I figured I would wait. @Neb It checks to see if Skyrim Flora Overhaul.esp is in your load order. Now that I think about it, I think there are multiple esp versions , so I probably need to gather a list of them to make sure this is always detected.
  20. Okay, I finally have decided to get this done. BethINI initial release 1.0 -Officially supports Oblivion, Fallout 3, Skyrim, Fallout New Vegas, Fallout 4 -Automatically checks for updates -Increased smartness -Bugs shot in the knee with lots of arrows -Recommended tweaks for all users checkmark -ENB autodetection -Mod autodetection -etc. -Can't remember everything, and didn't keep a changelog. Examine the source code if you really want to see the changes -32-bit -Asks user to close Mod Organizer if it is running. -Initializes Draugr Apocalypse if the user is an idiot. I'll see you in a month. Maybe. Have fun!
  21. Nexus has been slow for me as of late, but it could also be my crappy internet.
  22. At the time that was how I thought it was supposed to work, but never actually tested it. Honestly, since this is going away in v2, it probably is not going to be a big deal.
