Vsync is not controlled by iPresentInterval in Skyrim Special Edition. That is an invalid setting that should be removed from your INI file. The correct setting is iVSyncPresentInterval, which is correctly set via the Vsync setting in BethINI (just tested it to make sure).

Well, that image is disconcerting. Not sure exactly how I might fix that. There have been a few cases where it cannot locate it, which causes this inconvenience. I can try a few more tricks yet.

SKYRIMSE Skyrim Special Edition Default Values for All Valid INI Settings
DoubleYou replied to DoubleYou's topic in INI Tweaking
Compute Shader was the guess that I had, but I really don't know much about that type of stuff, so I decided to not label it as such yet. -
Uploaded 2.0.1 -Fixed the background color of controls when the system has visual styles disabled (i.e. Windows Classic). Source code is identical because the problem was a bug in Autohotkey, which was updated on November 19 to fix this issue. Just had to recompile with the latest version.
-
OK, so my hunch was right. Easy fix. Probably can upload it when I get home. Really wish this issue was discovered in the beta.
-
I have received several 4 reports of this now. It seems to happen when users disable Aero. Unfortunately, I don't have Windows 7 anymore, so I can't test. Did this happen in version 1.x?

Decided to open a page on Skyrim SE Nexus as well, and make it my new "Main" page. Uploaded 2.0 (stable). Updated new GUI images too, since this update majorly changed it. -Bugfix: Distant object detail settings for Skyrim Special Edition did not work. -Bugfix: Exterior (shadow) Draw Distance could display no value if set to 0 for Skyrim Special Edition. -Bugfix: Decal settings could be enabled/disabled incorrectly for Skyrim Special Edition upon preset application. -Bugfix: Show Quest Markers and Autosize Quick Container toggles under the Interface tab were on top of each other, making them unusable. -Bugfix: Light Fade would add fLightLODMaxStartFade to Skyrim.ini in Skyrim Special Edition, which is invalid, despite the fact that it automatically removes it (i.e., end product was right, but removed unnecessary write). -New Tweak: Godrays dropdown for Skyrim Special Edition under the Detail tab. -New Tweak: Snow Sparkles toggle for Skyrim Special Edition under the Detail tab. -New Tweak: Detailed Draw Distance (shadows) for Skyrim Special Edition under the Detail tab. -New Tweak: Fade-in for Grass for Skyrim Special Edition under the Grass tab. -Unlocked Tweak: Remove Shadows toggle for Skyrim Special Edition. -Unlocked Tweak: Ambient Occlusion dropdown for Skyrim Special Edition. -Unlocked Tweak: Shadow Bias dropdown for Skyrim Special Edition. -Unlocked Tweak: Grass Wind Speed dropdown for Skyrim Special Edition. -Unlocked Tweak: Dynamic Trees toggle for Skyrim Special Edition. -Unlocked Tweak: Skinned Trees toggle for Skyrim Special Edition. -Unlocked Tweak: Tree Animations toggle for Skyrim Special Edition. -Unlocked Tweak: Tree Detail Fade dropdown for Skyrim Special Edition. -Unlocked Tweak: Far-off Tree Distance dropdown for Skyrim Special Edition. -GUI Change: Basic tab has had a major renovation. -GUI Change: Several settings under the Detail tab have been resized/moved. -Presets: BethINI presets for Skyrim Special Edition were further optimized. -Behind the Scenes: Update mechanism now checks the Skyrim Special Edition Nexus page instead of the original Skyrim page. -Behind the Scenes: The Navmesh section is no longer removed from the SkyrimPrefs.ini file for Skyrim Special Edition, even though it is invalid. This is because the game consistently adds this section back in, so there is no point in removing it. -Behind the Scenes: Mod-suggested INI tweaks are now applied at startup as well as enforced prior to preset application. -Added mod-suggested INI tweaks for the following mods: Folkstead and the Border of Hammerfell (Skyrim Special Edition) Haafstad and the Border of High Rock (Skyrim Special Edition) Nyhus and the Border of Cyrodiil (Skyrim Special Edition) Skyrim Flora Overhaul (Skyrim Special Edition) Snow Elf Palace (Skyrim Special Edition) Verdant (Skyrim Special Edition) Vivid Weathers (Skyrim) Vivid Weathers (Skyrim Special Edition)

I actually just noticed that today myself. I have this fixed in my dev build. I hope to release it soon and take it out of beta. Beta was mostly stable. Main thing now is ensuring that the presets are optimized well.

I see what you are saying now. Yes, that is true, they have more default values present, and therefore, a little more noisy, but that does not make them any less correct. All invalid settings are correctly removed. I did those changes for Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas for a reason that I now forget.

It sounds like you are having trouble. There is a Oblivion_default.ini in the Oblivion game directory, and BethINI does successfully remove the bad settings. If in Setup the Game Path is incorrectly specified, or if the Oblivion_default.ini is missing, then you could have a problem.

I use RadeonPro successfully for all my Bethesda games with my AMD card (R9 380x). This is how I set it up: 1. Disable Vsync in INI files (using BethINI) 2. Disable Vsync and FPS Limiter in enblocal.ini (EnableVSync=false and EnableFPSLimit=false) 3. Install RadeonPro outside Program Files (x86) (it seems like you cannot enable 64-bit support if installed to this WOW6432 directory) 4. Launch RadeonPro, click the 32bit link at bottom right of window until it shows 32bit/64bit 5. Click the Add + button to add a profile pointing to the main game executable (TESV.exe in this case) 6. Go to Tweaks tab and make the following changes Vsync control: Always OnTriple Buffering: CheckedDisplay Refresh Rate: 60Lock frame rate up to monitor's refresh rate: Checked7. Make sure you leave RadeonPro open and launch Skyrim. You can minimize it if you like.

Which game are you trying to do this for?

SKYRIMSE Skyrim Special Edition Default Values for All Valid INI Settings
DoubleYou replied to DoubleYou's topic in INI Tweaking
Not all settings need to be present to be used by the game. The default values shown in the OP will be used if no value is specified. Generally speaking, you should only need a setting if you wish to modify its value from the default. -
The command is getini, not getgs. Example: getini "bBorderRegionsEnabled:General"I just tested bBorderRegionsEnabled, and it worked just fine. It should be used like this: Skyrim.ini [General] bBorderRegionsEnabled=0

SKYRIMSE Skyrim Special Edition Default Values for All Valid INI Settings

Thanks! Edited post. -
The remove map blur is a very subtle effect. I know it is at least partially working. I accidentally used incorrect FOV settings for Skyrim Special Edition. I already have this fixed in my dev build. Also, you can type in your own value. Those other settings you mention to be missing--that is intentional, as they are leftovers from previous games that do nothing. USSEP includes those two tweaks, but they are leftover from the last game, so it remains to be seen as to whether they are still needed. The sound caching could be done entirely differently or even not at all. Also, I am pretty sure that Bethesda's own tweak (bUseNavMeshForMovement=0) entirely removes the necessity of fVisibleNavmeshMoveDist, since bUseNavMeshForMovement=0 turns that off.

SKYRIMSE Skyrim Special Edition Default Values for All Valid INI Settings

Some random settings related to lighting and shadows: Skyrim.ini [Display] fFirstSliceDistance=2000This sets the distance from the player from which highly detailed shadows are cast. If set to 0, your shadows will look like crap. Some people recommend increasing this beyond the typical 2000 (and I may join them once I test a bit) to help decrease the visible line between the detailed shadows and the faraway shadows. Since it stretches the shadow map across this distance, it has no performance impact, but causes the resolution of the shadows to decrease. SkyrimPrefs.ini [Display] bIBLFEnable=1This toggles image-based lens flare, most commonly seen on candles. It has little performance impact (around 1% decrease in fps, probably dependent on how many lights are around). There are related settings in Skyrim.ini under display that can tweak this effect. [Display] bIndEnable=0From my testing, I believe this enables "Indirect Lighting." This lights up some places that would otherwise be unlit without it. It heavily impacts performance (decreased fps by 15% for me), which is probably why it is disabled even in the ultra preset. I did not observe any bugs with it, but it really doesn't improve the game appearance IMHO, and is a real performance hog. [Display] bSAO_CS_Enable=0This setting enables a special kind of ambient occlusion effect calculated in real time that is rather buggy. Lighting will change in a room dependent upon where you are looking. It require ambient occlusion (bSAOEnable) to be enabled. It's performance impact is about 4% decrease of fps. [Display] bSAOEnable=1Toggles ambient occlusion. You want this on. Performance impact is virtually nonexistent, and it vastly improves appearance. [Display] bVolumetricLightingEnable=1Toggles volumetric lighting (i.e., Godrays). Most people will want this on, but you can turn it off if you like for a performance boost. It decreases fps by about 7% with iVolumetricLightingQuality set to 2, about 5% when set to 1, and about 4% when set to 0. [Display] iVolumetricLightingQuality=2This sets the quality of volumetric lighting (i.e., Godrays). 0 is Low (~4% performance impact), 1 is Medium (~5% performance impact), 2 is High (~7% performance impact). Setting it to other values other than 0, 1, or 2 will cause Godrays to be disabled. [Display] iNumSplits=2This is a shadow setting that probably has something to do with splitting the shadow map to cause the shadows to have better appearance or something. Not really sure. What I do know is that only values 2 and 3 seem to work, as other values either cause glitchy shadows or no shadows at all. 2 is the most performance friendly. 3 comes at a whopping 10% decrease in framerate. Shadows really didn't look much improved afterward, so I would recommend leaving this setting alone. -
Regarding iNumSplits, it isn't new at all, actually. It was in Skyrim.ini, but with the update it works now in SkyrimPrefs.ini.

You have a rather week video card, so you will not be able to get as good of framerate as other people. If you use my BethINI tool linked in my signature, however, you should be able to gain some performance.

SSE & Modding - The early days

I know I disabled TAA in Fallout 4 and used Reshade to apply SMAA and much prefer the result. TAA can cause some nasty flickering at times.
