  1. Thanks, Tech. That clearly shows that fFlickeringLightDistance does control the distance that your flickering light effect will occur. I doubt it really affects pop-in much, but that at least shows that it is a valid tweak. Setting it to 0 disables the effect entirely. Interestingly, it doesn't matter whether or not I use a negative or positive value to set the distance. I probably can safely disable it for the Poor preset. 8192 (2 cells) is probably a good distance.
  2. Well, I just tested it on a torch in Darkfall Cave, and there was no change.
  3. Oh, now I see.
  4. I really don't know the Creation Kit. I've only made minor modifications to the default player homes for my personal purposes. What are "touches"?
  5. At 0 I still had flickering lights, unless it applies to specific flickering lights.
  6. Just to be clear, what you show in the video looks to be the bug where the game cannot handle more than 4 light sources, or it turns 1 or more lights off. fFlickeringLightDistance definitely doesn't fix the bug, and what you show is probably due to the randomness of the light source being turned off. I see the 4 lights bug all the time, and I have never found fFlickeringLightDistance to help. I have set it to 0 and nothing changes. I have set it astronomically high and nothing changes. I wouldn’t be surprised to see that the setting does nothing. However, I have definitely missed things before, and it doesn't hurt, so I leave it in for now.
  7. Full version turns on the ambient occlusion on snow, which is disabled on the Lite version, which is Vanilla default. Still trying to decide myself if it is better enabled or disabled. Go to the College of Winterhold and toggle the snow rim lighting. It's fairly obvious. It gives more realistic lighting on the snow. I honestly have yet to find out if fFlickeringLightDistance actually does something, and if so, what. It isn't obvious. I would expect setting it to zero would cause an obvious problem on flickering lights, but I have not noticed any change whatsoever. I provide the tweak, but currently I think that it is placebo.
  8. Do NOT run through Mod Organizer.
  9. Uploaded v2.4 -Behind the Scenes: Mod Organizer location for the current game is saved to the BethINI.ini file. -Bugfix: If the location of the INI file is not found, you will be requested to select your game again upon restart (in case you accidentally selected the wrong game). -Bugfix: If the location of the game folder is not found, you will be requested to select your game again upon restart (in case you accidentally selected the wrong game). -Bugfix: Ambient Occlusion for Skyrim Special Edition could be set incorrectly. -Bugfix: Archive Invalidation (Fallout 4) was intended to be enabled through Recommended Tweaks, but it instead applied whatever value was set according to the INI file previously. -Bugfix: Removed the FOV tweak for Oblivion, since changing it from the default value of 75 breaks the menus. -Caption change: Water Ripples toggle description improved. -Harmful Tweaks: fDefaultFOV:Display for Oblivion if set to anything other than 75 will break the game menus. -Invalid tweak removed: iDifficultyLevel:GamePlay (Oblivion) -New Setup Option: You can now specify the location of Mod Organizer under the Setup tab. It will automatically update your list of profiles listed under INI Path if changed. -New Setup Option: Added a Always Select Game toggle that will force BethINI to always ask you to choose your game at startup. -New Tweak: Reflect Detail on Water toggle under the Detail tab (Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas). -New Tweak: Reflect Full Scene on Water toggle under the Detail tab (Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas). -New Tweak: Reflection Blur on Water dropdown under the Detail tab (Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas). -Presets: Slightly optimized presets better for Fallout 4. -Presets: Optimized presets better for Fallout New Vegas in regards to water reflections. -Presets: Slightly optimized presets better for Fallout 3. -Unlocked Tweak: Water Ripples (Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, and Skyrim) under the Detail tab.
  10. Have you updated Oblivion to the latest version?
  11. Yeah, I noticed that about Fallout New Vegas. I think it must be bugged somehow. Seems you only get proper reflections over the Hoover Dam for some reason.
  12. Preparing an update myself. Almost released one the other day, but decided to try to clear up the false positive from an obscure Chinese Antivirus first. Worked on the water settings for Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas, and a few other things that people have requested. Changelog is getting big.
  13. There is an in-game slider for that, but with various ENBs requiring specific values for it, I agree that a gamma slider could be useful.
  14. OK, so I looked into the FOV thing, and finished my experiments for the games, and have updated my thread about it: https://forum.step-project.com/topic/9517-field-of-view-fov/ As a result, I shall remove the FOV setting for Oblivion, as changing it literally breaks the menus. Also, the FOV for all the other games is correct to only modify fDefaultWorldFOV, except perhaps in Fallout 4, where they changed things for some stupid reason. I'll have to look at that one more closely.
  15. It only changes fDefaultWorldFOV because of what you mention above. I have a thread lying around that explains what they do in the other games, as it changes between games.
  16. Sounds like I forgot to change that description, since it varies from game to game. There are multiple fov settings that change different elements. I probably won't be able to look at it until Thursday.
  17. Actually, that setting changes between monitors if you have more than one. I detect your monitors, so you will only have the correct option if you only have one. I honestly prefer the vanilla transition myself. Another option is to up the time in between transitions astronomically high, effectively turning off the transitions. You can have it as constant, but it is jarring with how fast they move. I will get around to tweaking Fallout 3 someday.
  18. I already set the decals lifetime to an appropriate height through the presets. Both iMaxDecalsPerFrame:Decals and bDecalsOnSkinnedGeometry:Decals in SkyrimPrefs.ini are invalid tweaks. The correct tweak is iMaxDecalsPerFrame:Display in SkyrimPrefs.ini, which I also set appropriately through the presets, also adjustable through the Decal Quantity dropdown. bDecalsOnSkinnedGeometry:Display is the correct tweak for Skyrim, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, and Oblivion. In my testing, it does nothing in Skyrim. I have not tested the other games.
  19. Here you go, GP: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/articles/134/? Added the Recommended Tweaks to the list.
  20. I suppose that info would be good for an "article." Recommended tweaks include things such as fixing arrow aiming to hit where they're pointing at, turning off the intro videos, turning off the in-game tutorials, and other such things that I can't remember. I can get you a list later. 90% of these tweaks are also options you can change within BethINI, although some are not. These are settings that are universally recommended, regardless of your hardware.
  21. It really was helpful for me to make that list, as it shows that I have yet to implement a considerable number of things for multiple games, due to how many games I have been supporting. Skyrim original has gotten most of the love, and I need to bring the other games up to snuff.
  22. 23. You might consider covering each game individually then. Otherwise that may be a very long video! I'll try to get up a nice little list for you and stuff. Truthfully, there's so much stuff that I do behind the scenes that I could probably write a novel. I probably ought to write that novel, but that's a lot of work.
  24. Sounds like something that should only be disabled in poor and low presets.
