It isn't a bug and I'm sorry if it doesn't belong but the mod link for The Ruffled Feather(mods/13268) is linked to the STEP Compilation(mods/11) mod page in the wiki guide.

Yes it is. That is intended. They are hosted there now with permission as there are some changes coming with that mod.

I don't know if it is reported yet and this not exacly a bug, but...

After installing the STEP extended there is a file that MO flag as redundant: Ultimate HD Fire Candles -> overwritten by STEP patches in 2.N

It is safe to delete this files flaged as redundant in MO? Do i need to install that fire candles mod before the patches mod?

I can't get to the guide right now to verify, but I think Ultimate HD Fire Candles should be skipped (not installed) if you are installing the STEP patches.

Install the Ultimate HD Fire Effects -Medium Resolution- main file and the Ultimate HD Candle Flames optional file.

And thats all

That mod is being listed as dropped for 2.10.0 which is the next release. They shouldn't be in the compilation yet unless they slipped through during an update. I haven't tested, but will when I can.

My mistake. I was finally able to get to the guide and see that I merged HD Candle Flames into the main HD Fire Effects mod. I apologize for the confusion.

Since the last version of STEP Compilation and Patches, The Ruffled Feather and Ruffled Feather EDT become redundant according to MO. Can i uninstall both and skip them in future installs of STEP?

Sparrow decided to let us put the Ruffled Feather on the STEP site because he wants to do something with WATER again, I believe. I decided to just all the files to the compilation so users didn't have to go to the STEP site for those mods and the Compilation and the optimized textures.

 

Feel free to remove the ruffle feather without any issues.

But isn't it a bit confusing then, if not misleading, to just pick out mods at random to make that note? I mean if there was a note at the beginning reminding people (in like that red bar you guys use) to always check their mods then I would have never mentioned it. But by just choosing some, there's gonna be people that would only check for just those mods and use the normal installation for the rest. For experienced modders like ourselves then sure we are going to always check for manual installation. But a guide like this is going to bring in a lot of people that don't have that level of experience are might not double check those things. It's not that they wouldn't know to do it, it's just that they may rely on the guide to the letter you know?

If a mod is packaged in an unexpected way, MO will bring up the manual selection window during install. I vote to remove all such notes from mod pages and ensure that generic instructions for this type of install is in the MO quick-start guide ... this would resolve the consistency issue.
