DROPPED Realistic Ragdoll and Force (by dDefinder)
TechAngel85 replied to TechAngel85's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Make sure you guys are running FNIS when installing/updating/changing these mods. I have none of these issues, so it's either on the user's end or it's a rarer/random issue that only effects some users. -
That right there. We had just missed some of the mods with those options. Contrary to popular belief, we're human too (most of us anyway). The icons are just there for the users information in case this need to go down to a lower quality version than what we recommend (baseline = STEP recommendation for most systems) or desire to have a higher quality version for whatever reason.

ACCEPTED Skyrim Skill Interface Re-Texture (by Arndas)
TechAngel85 replied to oqhansoloqo's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Adding this one into testing for the next release. -
Umm...no. You read this somewhere? From the STEP Guide: No where do we every state to install the HQ version if the user system can handle it. We actually recommend sticking to the baseline for all mods that have it. When the STEP Guide is tested before release, only the Baseline for each mod is tested. The HQ options have always and will ever be the user's choice. The STEP Staff do not test these options as they are generally for higher end systems and we cater to a mid-range system for Extended. @Re-defined Dungeons: Note has been added to the Guide.

There's the issue. We tell users to use the 1024x version. If any user uses something other than the recommendation, we will not have issues documented. In this case, we can add a note since it is only a recommendation and not a requirement. I'll put one on the mod page.

My candles are fine and there is no 'candles01.dds' texture in Re-Defined Dungeons (verified by just redownloading it).
-
Can you provide a location this happens for us to verify.

It's just a matter of knowing where the links pointed to and updating them manually as they're found. These dead links were a result of changing forum software a while back. We handled most of the links in the main Guides on the Wiki; however, I'm sure there are some that remain broken due to the content not being used very much. If you or any user finds broken links either... fix the link if you know where it's pointing and how to fix it or...report the link here or in the wiki support forum and the staff will fix it (post a link to the wiki page with the broken link on it)

The difference between AMD and Intel has been fairly noticeable for a good while now. Intel has taken over the market due to reliability, wattage-to-performance ratio, and several over factors and innovations. AMD remains less expensive; however, they've not had any innovation in a long time and seem to stay behind the competition in nearly every aspect. They're okay for everyday computing; however, for gaming Intel/Nvidia currently owns the market.

Looks like the author changed the name of the mod. I'll update everything. Edit: Done

If you're not overclocking, then you can drop the 3rd party cooler (if you do, make sure the cooler fits the socket type of the CPU/Motherboard). Since you're going with Intel, I'd recommend the ASUS motherboard I posted. I comes with ASUS's fan control software which is amazing (it keeps my system silence while not gaming and ramps the RPMs up when it's needed). When you do get to overclocking the CPU, their software will also do that for you. It'll test the system and choose the most stable overclock. As for the PSU, you're really only going to need a 500-550W.

The BCFs are for WB users. MO users have no use for them and can ignore them. I'm advocating to remove them from the Guide and mod pages entirely since STEP no long supports WB besides for its Bash Patching functions.

Ever hear of buying what you can afford now and upgrade later? You can cut $30 from your parts simply by going with a less expensive case. Another $30 by going with a HDD over an SSD for the time being and upgrading or adding the SSD later. I would suggest making some sacrifices with the plan to upgrade some components later. Or wait one or two months and save up $100-$200 more to be able to get better components. Here is a list I put together that makes some of those sacrifices: https://pcpartpicker.com/p/JvQPGX

Development is still continuing. There is some infrastructure development that has to happen on the wiki and the Dev team is often busy with real life. Because there is no time frame for when this development will be finished, we're planning an incremental release (2.9.9.1) which we'll start testing for soon. This release will most likely be a mod update release and nothing more. So stay tuned. We're still around!

Already following the series, but haven't decide to include them yet or not. If included, they'd only be an overview of an effect since the videos don't go into detail for each parameter.

SMAA dll with Fallout NV ENB (v263)?
TechAngel85 replied to Adonis_VII's question in Post-Processing Support
I would say this isn't true. I have super smooth lines and not a jaggy in sight in Skyrim using only ENB's EdgeAA and SMAA @ 1080p. I can disable EdgeAA and still get the same results using just SMAA. I only have EdgeAA enable for assurance of mind. SMAA is customizable as well so it can be as good or as bad as the user wants. Granted, customizing it beyond its default presets isn't for the average user. For example, I don't remember where I got my version of SMAA but it does have an "uber" option that isn't in the default presets. This option is a card killer though! Mine is set to Medium, if I recall correctly. -
SMAA dll with Fallout NV ENB (v263)?

If set up properly, it should work for just about any game. -
Translucent "ripple" seam effect + stutter with ENBoost
TechAngel85 replied to aaltair's question in Post-Processing Support
Yeah, that's all vsync. You'll need to enable it in the enblocal.ini and be sure it's not disabled in the Skyrim.ini. -
I don't have all the file to compare. Only the ones that I had installed. Of those, I compared and they're nearly identical besides in color. I reported it and will let the Nexus admins figure out the rest. I could very well be mistaken because I don't have all the textures; however, the ones I do have are identical in design.

Link to this proof? I know he stated a while back he was going to do this but he canned the idea within a couple days. Is he doing another reversal and thinking about AMD again? I only keep up with the release threads on ENB Dev.

From what I can tell by a direct comparison, these are exact copies that have had one or two effects applied over the original images so the are slightly darker and richer in color. Pixel by pixel, the actual design is the exactly the same which is not possible to do by re-creating the images from scratch. Reported it. ...you better grab it while it lasts.

He said he's not the same author and that he "re-made" the mod and textures himself. I still have the old mod so I'll be doing a compare of the textures later.
