The unofficial DG patch has been updated. So, to install it correctly should I first unistall all the files that come after it or just simply install it and move it exactly where it was in the left panel?

The later. MO should just let you replace the current udgp.

so there are two ways.

first and traditional way.

1)unistall and delete old version.

2)install new version.

3)make sure the mod is in the same position in the left panel as its predecessor

second way.

1)install new version and choose to replace when asked.

2)just delete the old version from the downloads tab.

Use the latter method, and unless you have a really slow internet there's really no reason to keep any installed files in your download tab (of course there are exceptions, but generally speaking this statement is true).

It is advised to keep mods at least archived somewhere because Nexus mods go up and down and changes versions frequently. If you want a stable game you sometimes need to find an old version no longer available on Nexus.

Update was just released:

Version 1.1.2

- tabs in the mod info dialog can now be moved around

- a few hooks will now somewhat handle file names starting with ?

- mod meta information is now (also) saved by a timer to reduce the likelyhood of a data loss in case of a crash

- updated minimum compatible nmm version to 0.47.0

- ini file changes that would have to overwrite ini tweaks are now stored in a separate file and actually get used.

- a warning message advices users to clean out that separate file

- slightly improved default main window layout

- made the indicator for drag&drop more visible

- certain messages will no longer (re-)activate the MO window

- executable names for starting from the command line are now case-insensitive

- slightly overworked display of icon delegates

- updated installer

- MO will now automatically be run as administrator if necessary

- bugfix: on-demand loading of data tree broke filtering on conflicting files

- bugfix: newly created ini tweaks were added to the list with incorrect properties

- bugfix: newestVersion, version and installationFile where set invalid when installing with external ncc installer

- bugfix: "Plugins" and "Archives" weren't translatable

- bugfix: boss db is now always re-initialised because otherwise there might have been differing results between runs

- bugfix: locked load order was ignored by integrated boss

- bugfix: archive list wasn't written back on all changes that affected it

- bugfix: CreateFile-hook didn't reroute files created with OPEN_ALWAYS to overwrite directory

- bugfix: NtQueryDirectoryFile-hook didn't return the correct status code when searching for a file that doesn't exist

- bugfix: configurator plugin didn't import qcolor class

I already was trying some FNV mods with the new version and they all broke with NMM CLI error, whatever that means. I have no clue.

Question.

When I set up my partition on my temporary hard drive I only gave it limited space. If I wanted to install extended I would have to expand this space. I'm wondering if i could simply move my entire MO directory to another partition without issue or if that would break things?

I'm moving it right now. Here's hoping. If it works, I'll continue installing Extended and once my new drive comes in hopefully it'll just be a copy and paste to get up and running again.

The VFS is constructed from the following:

  • The regular <Skyrim/Data> directory and all its subdirectories.
  • The <MO>/mods directory
  • The <MO>/overwrite directory.

The section "Files and directories which are virtualised" gives a complete list of what is virtualised. The above shows in which order the VFS is constructed and what overrides each other.

Regular <Skyrim/Data> directory.
This is the base and nothing needs to be added or injected.

Just a notification I edited this section on Wiki Advanced Guide which said

Regular <Skyrim> directory.

Certain thats wrong and my correction is right, but just in case I'm having a Brain Fart posted this.

I knew that just been away a while and wanted confirmation was still same, can cause confusion when left unfixed

No Matter, it's correct now.

No doubt an oversight, I know no matter how much I read over my articles, fresh eyes, even my own a week later, will spot an obvious error.
