Common CTDs, Freezes, ILS and memory issues
elwaps replied to hishutup's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Yeah, I could finally "catch" a CTD in Papyrus! It occured when loading my last savegame (that was stable until that point) in front of Whiterun, where the fast travel carriage (Better Fast Travel) is located. I couldn't find the driver so I checked the nearby tavern. Loading into it was fine but as soon as I was moving inside, the game crashed. So what do I know so far? - My CTDs are NOT related to ShadowPlay as they occur while recording aswell while having SP deactivated in GF Experience - My CTDs are NOT specific to certain locations as locations where earlier CTDs occured can now be traveled without issues - My CTDs are NOT related to a non working memory patch as it is confirmed to be working - My CTDs are NOT memory related as the last one happened pretty fast and I got a complete Memory Log which never exceeded the limits - My CTDs are NOT bound to exterior areas as the last one happened inside a small tavern - My CTDs are NOT bound to a savegame as they occurred with many characters - My CTDs are NOT race, item or quest specific as I used different races and different starts (LaL) for every test - My CTDs are NOT time specific as the quickest one (you see below) happened after less than 5 minutes and the slowest after about 3 hours of playing - My CTDs are NOT vanilla save feature related as I stopped using it and instead use manual saves or Autosave Manager From that I conclude that my CTDs have to be mod/script related. They also TEND to happen within the first 10 minutes after starting a new game or loading a savegame, however, they also can happen way later into the game. The interesting thing about getting a CTD shortly after loading a savegame: when loading the exact same savegame again, there's a 99% chance of everything being perfectly fine. Papyrus log of the newest CTD: After that CTD I continued playing (everything went fine) and checked that log too. What came to my attention is that there are tons of warnings about "[12/04/2015 - 03:47:18AM] Warning: Property DLC1VampireBeastRace on script zbloodnpc attached to Active effect 2 on (0009B7A2) cannot be initialized because the script no longer contains that property" with only the number in "...Active effect X on..." and the code in brackets changing... What could it be? What should I do? /editI've just discovered the Papyrus Log Viewer, here's some further info, I've extracted the most common problems bound to specific scripts. Unfortunately I still don't know what they mean. Perhaps someone else does. I tried to highlight reoccurring stuff with colors. 54 times "Error: Cannot call GetValueInt() on a None object, aborting function call" by zBloodNPC.psc22 times "Error: Cannot call GetValueInt() on a None object, aborting function call" by zBloodNPC.psc18 times "Error: Cannot call GetValue() on a None object, aborting function call" by zBloodNPC.psc16 times "Error: (0001F0F2): cannot play a None impact effect." by zBloodNPC.psc16 times "Error: (FF001443): cannot play a None impact effect." by zBloodNPC.psc16 times "Error: (FF000D02): cannot play a None impact effect." by zBloodNPC.psc16 times "Error: (00107D2A): cannot play a None impact effect." by zBloodNPC.psc16 times "Error: (FF001303): cannot play a None impact effect." by zBloodNPC.psc15 times "Error: Unable to call RegisterForAnimationEvent - no native object bound to the script object, or object is of incorrect type" by DualSheathReduxEffect.psc15 times "Error: Unable to call RegisterForAnimationEvent - no native object bound to the script object, or object is of incorrect type" by DualSheathReduxEffect.psc15 times "Error: Unable to call RegisterForSingleUpdate - no native object bound to the script object, or object is of incorrect type" by DualSheathReduxEffect.psc15 times "Warning: Assigning None to a non-object variable named "::temp10"" by DualSheathReduxEffect.psc15 times "Warning: Assigning None to a non-object variable named "::temp10"" by DualSheathReduxEffect.psc10 times "Error: (FF001303): cannot play a None impact effect" by zBloodNPC.psc7 times "Error: Unable to call RegisterForSingleUpdate - no native object bound to the script object, or object is of incorrect type" by DualSheathReduxEffect.psc6 times "Error: (00107D2A): cannot play a None impact effect" by zBloodNPC.psc5 times "Error: (FF001303): cannot play a None impact effect" by zBloodNPC.psc5 times "Warning: Assigning None to a non-object variable named "::temp1"" by footprintsFootstepsScriptHorse.psc5 times "Error: Unable to call RegisterForSingleLOSLost - no native object bound to the script object, or object is of incorrect type" by footprintsFootstepsScriptHorse.psc4 times "Error: Cannot call GetValueInt() on a None object, aborting function call" by zBloodNPC.psc3 times "Error: (00107D2A): cannot play a None impact effect." by zBloodNPC.psc3 times "Error: Unable to call RegisterForSingleLOSLost - no native object bound to the script object, or object is of incorrect type" by _wetequiprain.psc3 times "Warning: Assigning None to a non-object variable named "::temp2" by footprintsFootstepsScriptQuadruped.psc3 times "Error: Unable to call RegisterForAnimationEvent - no native object bound to the script object, or object is of incorrect type" by footprintsFootstepsScriptQuadruped.psc /editQuick update: I just finished testing my newest additions (ENB & weather) for a bit more than three hours, not a single CTD/freeze/ILS this time... -
Too bad, I was curious what caused that jumping back a few pages thing. Haven't had any problems with Win10 myself so far, same for my family and friends. Quite astonishing as I've tested a beta build about two months before release and that was missing quite a few features and was pretty buggy.

I further investigated my funny weirdo head intro scene problem (see below): I am using Alternate Start - Live another Life (which probably isn't connected to the bug, just saying that I'm using it). When I start a new game and directly choose the vanilla start from the Mara statue without doing the MCM settings of my mods before, I now always get the creepy head bug. However, when I DO set up my mods using the MCM menu before starting the vanilla ride, the bug is gone. Repeatably. Now I just need to find out which exact setting it is... Auto Unequip Ammo - Activating the Follower Addon Autosave Manager - Setting "Timed Save Frequency" to 5 minutes, setting "Manual Save Hotkey" to F5, activate "While Weapon Drawn" as save condition Better Fast Travel - Selecting "Disable Fast Travel", activate Helgen as "Location" aswell as as "Destination" Convenient Horses - Activating "Horse Follow", activating "Follower's Horses" Dual Wield Parrying - Setting "Block Key" to mouse button 3 Immersive HUD - Activating everything under "Options", setting all transparencies to 50 (the latter was testend and has no effect on the bug) Lanterns of Skyrim - Setting "Checking every" to 60 seconds, uncheck "Enable Lanterns along Roads" Lock Overhaul - Choosing "Activate Lock Overhaul", activate "Lock Requirements" and "Smash Locks" and expand it to "One+Two Handers" Minty Lightning - Activate "Hostile", set "Maximum Distance" to 5 cells That's it. Any of you got any idea which of the settings could cause the weirdo bug I have when not touching the MCM?

I'm redoing my bashed patch every time I'm adding new mods. Perhaps you could clarify the delev and relev thing to me, if this could be the reason. I'm not sure if I got that right.
-
Deleting the issue from my bugs-yet-to-be-fixed list then, thank you. If I had to choose between a 50% change of minor clipping during the intro scene I rarely use when starting a new game and having the awesome content of CRF in my game the choice is easy. I'd bet this wouldn't even be noticed by first time players as the intro is full of minor bugs anyway: the carts not driving smoothly, flickering shadows (without ENB), the female priest continuing her prayer for some seconds after being interrupted, the mini camera glitch when leaving the cart, the beheaded guy being put aside in slow motion,...

There are potential problems with your set up
elwaps replied to Bytor's question in Mod Organizer Support
I always do a new bashed patch after adding mods, just to be sure. I actually always do the full routine and - activate all esps except for the high resolution packs - replace DynDOLOD.esp with a backup to prevent the DSR patch from whining about missing masters - run LOOT and, if required, add custom rules - do the Bashed Patch and let it deactivate merged esps - run the Dual Sheath Redux patcher - create the Fores New Idles for Skyrim output - place the esp at the bottom of the loading order and run DynDOLOD TexGen - delete the overwrite folder, deactivate BirdsAndFlocks and run DynDOLOD Worlds - reactivate BirdsAndFlocks and run LOOT again each time I add a bunch of mods. I guess most of the time its nonsense but it gives me the feeling of ruling out all possible causes for issues. Greg actually made an important point. But if you got some spare space and time you could also just zip your entire Skyrim folder after finishing STEP installation, that way you could patch STEP mods for custom mods later and don't care about being cautious when changing them by adding/removing patches/textures/meshes/... and you don't have to use different bashed patches/DynDOLOD folders and so on. Also you don't have to care for your ENB files as they're not managed by MO. Finally, your left MO pane will look cleaner without deactivated mods when switching profiles. All you had to do to revert to STEP after messing up your setup would be replacing your entire Skyrim folder with your zipped backup. That way you could even give your setup to a friend, all he had to do before would be installing Skyrim vanilla, installing the utilities (MO, LOOT,...), doing his video driver settings and adapting the paths in his Mod Organizer.ini if they differ from yours. Unzip your backup over his Skyrim folder and he'll have your finished STEP setup ready to play. However, for quickly switching back and forth, creating profiles is much more convenient. And zipping 37 GB (my STEP had that size) isn't that much fun. -

Mr no-neck short-head nice-hair, happened with a full STEP 2.2.9.2 and parts of the outdated REGS pack. Unfortunately not always replicable. -
There are potential problems with your set up
elwaps replied to Bytor's question in Mod Organizer Support
Before installing Requiem, you should check for other mods that you like to install on top of STEP. As far as I'm informed, Requiem is the least compatible overhaul as it touches many aspects of the game. SkyRe or PerMa with SkyRe modules and some complementing mods would be more difficult to install but more easy to handle when it comes to other mods. -

From the STEP detailed instructions for Mod Organizer: Click the wrench icon in the toolbar, and select the Nexus tab. Check Automatically Log-in to Nexus box, insert your Nexus username and password, click Associate with "Download with Manager" link, and click OK.Optionally go to the General tab in Settings and change the style to a theme of your choice (dark.qss is currently the most popular).Go to the Plugins tab and click Basic diagnosis plugin on the left and double-click true next to check_modorder and change it to false.Go to Workarounds tab and click Back-date BSAs. Otherwise, some mods may not work properly. You're welcome -
Best way to handle "overwriting" of files
elwaps replied to Kryseth's question in Mod Organizer with STEP
Not sure about that but why are you using WATER? I've just reinstalled The Ruffled Feather, that's why I remember WATER doesn't belong to the STEP setup. Wouldn't it conflict with Realistic Water Two anyway? -
I've checked the ID of long sleeved Ralof via console, it is 0002bf9e. TES5Edit tells me it refers to RalofRef and Skyrim.esm only. What should we do to further investigate the long sleeved clipping thingy?!

Best way to handle "overwriting" of files
elwaps replied to Kryseth's question in Mod Organizer with STEP
"So basically it overwrites in the traditional sense just without ACTUALLY overwriting the files?" Exactly. I imagine it the way that MO lets the game load all the left pane data folder fragments from top to bottom and makes the game believe it was loading an actual normal data folder with the bottom files overwriting conflicting parts of the top files. "That just made MO even more awesome and easy to work with." I think this is one of the main reasons to use MO at all. The only thing that would make MO even more awesome would be working progress bars for the downloads tab. -
Booting five times faster and getting Win 10 for free were already good reasons I think. Also, when installing on non gaming machines you literally have to do nothing at all regarding setting it up and installing drivers, even the update from 7 to 10 worked perfectly fine on three machines so far. Same theoretically goes for a gaming machine but in that case I still like to do a clean fresh install and set up my driver stuff manually.

Common CTDs, Freezes, ILS and memory issues
elwaps replied to hishutup's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Allright. I just applied some minor changes to my modlist that definitely caused confilicts, the main changes are replacing Realistic Room Rental Enhanced with the Basic version (clipping/flickering conflicts with Relighting Skyrim) and removing the questmod The Shadow of Meresis (caused clipping issues in the Dragon Bridge inn aswell as a floating wall fragment near Whiterun). I've re-ran LOOT, re-did the Bashed Patch, re-run DSR and FNIS and am currently re-doing DynDOLODs, just to be sure. I'm also starting a new game as the savegames I was using while testing the last time could have been corrupted by using the vanilla autosave feature for the first half of testing. Crossing my fingers that this miraculously works. However, when doing my first testrun I'm gonna have Papyrus logging enabled. /edit I've just done a short test with starting a new game and got a CTD immediately after the loading screen before the vanilla intro disappeared. I've then repeated everything for five times without a single problem. I've noticed that I had ShadowPlay recording the first time and left it off the other times. Even tho SP is probably the least invasive capturing tool, COULD it be that it somehow is connected to my CTDs? At least the last three of them were while running SP. I think this time I try doing my tests with SP deactivated, just to be sure and take another possible cause off the list. -
Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - pre 2.xx
elwaps replied to sheson's question in DynDOLOD & xLODGen Support
Thanks sheson. After some changes to my modlist I'm running DynDOLOD again right now (just to be sure). I'm gonna do as told when doing my first testrun. -
As for the explorer jumping back - seriously, WTF?!? As for Windows 10 rebooting (or really shutting down?) all by itself - that's normal when it thinks the last update is more important than you. As for MO not handling Nexus links anymore - are you using Chrome? As for upgrading instead of doing a fresh installation on a gaming PC - I wouldn't do it.

Common CTDs, Freezes, ILS and memory issues
elwaps replied to hishutup's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I got roughly 190 esps in my list. There's many conflicts, how do I determine if one of them is CTDish? Any pattern I should use to work my way through all the TES5Edit entries? -
Common CTDs, Freezes, ILS and memory issues
elwaps replied to hishutup's question in General Skyrim LE Support
This is how my testing went... 1st Testrun (new game) ended after 10 minutes with CTD (after creating a new game and leaving Breezehome) 2nd Testrun (new game) ended after 180 minutes with ILS (after using the BFT fast travel carriage in Riverwood) 3rd Testrun (savegame from 2nd run) ended after 45 minutes with CTD (after using the vanilla fast travel carriage to Rorikstead) Using Autosave Manager from now on 4th Testrun (savegame from 3rd run) ended after 105 minutes without issues 5th Testrun (savegame from 4th run) ended after 130 minutes without issues 6th Testrun (savegame from 5th run) ended after 90 minutes without issues 7th Testrun (savegame from 6th run) ended after 5 minutes from with CTD (after walking by Lorcius Farm) Not a single one of these crashes was due to memory overflow (at least not the last one as the log only contains a few minutes) and the memory patch is working. I got almost no loading stutter and the framerate is at stable 60fps most of the time. To me these CTDs seem completely random. Is there ANY chance to pin down the issue?! Would doing a Papyrus log make any sense? The last thing I want to do is starting over with a new installation. This is where the crashes happened: I see absolutely no similarities. Also, if someone suggests a fix, I don't see how I should verify it. The game went fine for over 5 hours. Help me guys! -
ACCEPTED Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch (by UPP Team)
elwaps replied to alt3rn1ty's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I found a bug I can only connect to USLEEP: [Screenshot] Grass is floating in the air near Helljarchen Hall, according to the editor IDs no mod (besides USLEEP) is involved, no LOD issue as it is visible from distance and near As said, in TES5Edit only USLEEP refers to this ID. Could it be connected to the patch or what else could that floating grass come from? -
ACCEPTED Relighting Skyrim (by NovakDalton and JawZ)
elwaps replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Sorry to have stolen your time. I just found out that RRR reworks ALL inns and taverns and that there's a basic version that only consists of changed prices. I guess replacing the enhanced one with the basic one would be the easier and better solution. I'll let you know if this fixes the flickering aswell. -
Just saw a weird bug, have a look: While on the main page on the very right side my new post in Skyrim Enhanced Camera got a "Fallout 4" tag, it just got its normal "Accepted" tag when going into the respective subforum.

DROPPED Skyrim - Enhanced Camera (by LogicDragon)
elwaps replied to dstansberry's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Just wanted to quickly drop the question if anyone has ever experienced something like below while using Skyrim Enhanced Camera... [Video] body is present during the entire intro scene while the camera is misplaced I assume it interfers with some other mod but I don't know which mods could possibly alter the intro scene. And I don't know how to find out. The problem first occured after having finished the STEP installation and beginning with installing REGS. The strange thing: the first things that get installed with REGS are JK's Cities (I'm using the Lite version and Helgen shouldn't be affected at all) and Understone Keep (which should only affect Markarth) so... wtf?! :O_o: /edit Wanna have a good laugh? This is what happened the time before last time I've checked the intro scene. Love his/my hair! The last time thought, everything was fine. So the bug seems to be somewhat random: I've also checked the console ID of the fake body. Unfortunately it seems to be vanilla as TES5Edit only refers to MQ101PrisonerRef and Skyrim.esm, the ID is 000654fb... /edit I kinda got the solution! I am using Alternate Start - Live another Life (which probably isn't connected to the bug, just saying). -
ACCEPTED Relighting Skyrim (by NovakDalton and JawZ)
elwaps replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Just a short question as I haven't found anything on the Nexus site of Relighting Skyrim or Realistic Room Rental. Is there something like a compatibility patch? Or a do-it-yourself-fix? I'm getting serious clipping in at least one inn with both mods activated (confirmed) aswell as heavy flickering in some other inns (not sure if its also those two mods). - [REGS] [Screenshot] [RRR, Relighting Skyrim] extreme clipping in Nightgate Inn and probably in other inns too, perhaps connected to the flickering bug - [REGS] [Video] [RRR?, Relighting Skyrim?] Serious flickering in some (most?) Inns when moving -
Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - pre 2.xx
elwaps replied to sheson's question in DynDOLOD & xLODGen Support
I was benchmarking and testplaying after each single step of STEP aswell as after each single step after STEP. Every single time I was starting a new game. I'm gonna start a new game later today or tomorrow anyway to check something weird with the vanilla start so I can check again. /edit Going away and coming back didn't fix it. The bug was consistent in about three or four stages of STEP/REGS installation with two or three different characters and a DynDOLOD run in between each.
