  1. I don't see how being SFW could be a downside ^^ Anything special to look after when replacing XP32 with XP32E in a full STEP installation? That would be my next step in my installation as I'm going for UNP & HDT.
  2. So going by the comment on the last page, the only reason why SFO2+ isn't in STEP is the added meshes while STEP tries to stick to vanilla as much as possible? Just asking as I started using Enhanced Landscapes which contains LOD billboards for vanilla and SFO (2+) trees. While the colors of LOD trees added by EL improved alot for ENB users, I notice wrong LOD trees from time to time and as I'm using the STEP recommended 1.87 I guess the rendered trees of that version don't match the LOD trees of the newer version. So I'm gonna upgrade I guess. Anything that one should pay attention to when upgrading? And new files that should be hidden? Any new compatibility patches for other mods that weren't needed before?
  3. My problem "magically" solved itself without touching the brightness tweak in the advanced options. The solution was using Enhanced Landscapes, which according to its description "includes tree LodGen billboard files for vanilla & SFO 2.3. You don't need any other billboard files.". Since I've installed that mod and generated LODs using DynDOLOD, all LOD trees (almost) match the color of the foreground ones and the change from LOD to rendered isn't that obvious anymore. The only problem I got is that some of the tree LODs don't match the actual trees but that is very likely due to me using SFO 1.87 (following STEP) while the LODs are meant for newer versions in which they obviously changed some of the trees. I would also love to have the LOD trees in a higher quality but I assume that would mean setting DynDOLOD to "High" instead of "Medium" which would probably kill what is left of my poor framerate. Still thank you very much for your support sheson!
  4. Is there a chance you've changed the mod's files to read only?
  5. Its from one of the newer Simpsons episodes that I don't really like. To be exact its the Mad Max/Fallout-ish one (S23E14) where the Simpsons are banned from Springfield and join an outlaw society. Homer of course builds his personal jet quad and this is what happens when you build a jet quad... I probably wasn't sober but when I saw this I almost pissed myself...
  6. I'm gonna try Real Names with Anonymous People soon and I'll have a special look on corpses, I'll let you know then. But for now its first time to crush my few remaining fps with landscape and grass mods... /edit Thumbs up for pot smokin Arnold after the '75 Mr. Olympia taken from Pumping Iron
  7. Got something new for you... Stability |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| 160/180 minutes CTD when I died and the game tried to re-load the last savegame. Papyrus Log: CTD when loading into Whiterun before starting the main quest, I chose the ship arrival in Solitude (Alternate Start - Live another Life)Papyrus Log
  8. Does it still name corpses when using Anonymous People at the same time? The capitalization issue seems like a really minor one to me (as a noob in regards of modding). Wouldn't you just need to open CK and change some entries?
  9. Thanks, I'm gonna test this in the next step of my build (after adding Enhanced Landscapes) then! By the way, this is how trees looked just some minutes ago and I did NOTHING to DynDOLOD in the meantime: Must be the night time which apparently got similar lightning than vanilla. Still weird. I'm gonna report back as soon as I finished installing the new mods and doing a full DynDOLOD run.
  10. Looks pretty decent too. However, I'm using Cutting Room Floor (which conflicts but is said to be solved by load order), Better Dynamic Snow (no patch out yet), ETaC (no idea), Better Docks and City Entrances (no idea) and I'm planning to add WARZONES 2015 (probably conflicting). For me as someone who got no clue on how to resolve conflicts on his own other than changing the load order this one seems to prone to produce clipping everywhere... To me Enhanced Landscapes looks way more compatible overall. As for the grass, I'll be forced to try Grass on Steroids as with 36fps in average (intro scene benchmark, in ETaC and JK "infected" areas its more like 30, in the wilds its more like 40) and Enhanced Landscapes aswell as some script heavy mods yet to be added I cannot afford losing another 5-10fps with Verdant or the EL grass plugin. Looks like I need to eventually get that 980 Ti. My bank account says no tho... ^^ By the way, has anyone tried to combine OBIS, WARZONES 2015 and CWO yet? With its new features WARZONES 2015 seems to be able to almost visually and feeling-wise replace CWO although its not as dynamic and awesome as CWO (but probably ten times more stable). By adding bandit faction fights it also seems to be able to replace OBIS?! Anyone tried to run all of them without having his rig disappear in a black hole of script overload?
  11. Is anyone running "Enhanced Landscapes"? I just stumbled upon that mod and fell in love with its looks. I wonder if I'm gonna get major incompatibilities (doesn't look like it on a first glance) or a massive frame drop (without the obviously performance eating grass plugin)... Just look at this:
  12. Sorry, I must have overlooked this. Now, I've just checked the advanced options and found the brightness modifier. Looking at my screenshots, is there a value you would suggest? Obviously I need to make the LOD trees darker so I guess that would be a negative value but I got no idea if I should go for -3 or -30. Also, on the third screenshot you can see that I get the usual pale green LOD trees in snowy environments. What would be the solution to this? Final question: after looking at "Enhanced Landscapes" I fell in love with the look of that mod. Given I'm not getting major incompatibilities (or a frame drop pulling me below 30 in average) I'm gonna add it after finishing testing my current build. The mod page strictly recommends DynDOLOD for LOD generation with only the load order and mod order being important, at least to me the rest looks like "Just use DynDOLOD like you would use it without EL". Would installing EL magically fix my problems with pale LOD trees? Or would it just output proper EL trees? Sorry again for probably being annoying due to my lack of knowledge (until recently I was just a dumb follower of STEP with little to no background knowledge about why something is done so despite beginning to understand TES5Edit basics and stuff I still need to ask dumb questions) and thank you for your top notch support in this forum, at least for me its way more comprehensive and comfortable than having to dig through unstructured Nexus comments.
  13. My post wasn't meant to be negative, I just added my observations to Nazenn's last line. I also don't citicize Shurah for not providing patches, every mod author providing patches for every existing mod only happens in an utopian dream world. Instead I'm happy to have IC and can live with those minor bugs very well, in the end it is my choice combining JK Lite, ETaC and IC and hope for the best and for theoretically conflicting mods they work surprisingly well.
  14. Also, in Solitude it appears that the grinder stone was moved, I once saw the blacksmith sit & grind in mid-air.
  15. Sorry for that noob question but does DynDOLOD also cover tree LODs? Since I'm using an ENB (Vividian Vanilla) the tree LOD colors seem odd and destroy immersion. Just wondering what I should do about it...
  16. I can confirm the described issues for Riverwood. Some NPCs were stuck in weird poses, others just weren't moving. However, using the wait function for one or two hours made them act mostly normal again so I wouldn't call it a gamebreaker. Haven't found any further issues so far.
  17. There's a Project Parallax patch for Skyfalls and Skymills and a Parallax Farmhouse Textures patch for Farmhouse Chimneys, should I install them too? /edit Also, what do you mean with the "STEP Texture Pack"? The optimized vanilla textures from 2D (Fixes)? For now I have 2K (Clutter & Misc) -> Real Snow -> all the parallax stuff -> 2L ... /edit I'm a bit surprised about the non existing performance impact... :O_o: /edit I haven't seen any conflicts, visual oddities or anything else bugging me so far. Thanks for your guide! Wasn't in Solstheim so far but yeah... I prefer Skyrim anyway.
  18. Unfortunately I have to look for an alternative to Verdant. As my current installation only got 36fps in average, Verdant would certainly kill it. I'm probably gonna try Grass on Steroids. Especially as I'm about to add tons of parallax textures in the next step. The SSAO of Vividian looks awesome too, by the way. And the only major conflicts I ever had with the worldspace edition of Verdant was house mods. About half of the house mods I've tested were clipping with Verdant. If you're not gonna use house mods or quests that add more than an unobstrusive dungeon, go for the worldspace edits, I thought it looks way better.
  19. Well, I must be a graphics ***** then. In games like Skyrim (=games I already know and I love because of their immersion) I tend to go for (stable) 30fps (without noticeable drops) and as much eye candy as possible. Doesn't apply to racing games, shooters etc, of course. But if I had to choose between dense, real looking grass and gaining 5fps, I'm always gonna go for the grass. ;) And when my math is right, upgrading to the 980 Ti should push me from 36 to about 75fps in average, which is exactly what I'd need to do an Oculus playthrough... ^^ Had that 470 SuperClocked too, by the way. Awesome card back then, unfortunately today its even too weak for a properly modded Skyrim.
  20. Skooma Dealers of Skyrim indeed looks awesome, gonna add this to my installation as soon as I'm done testing the latest mods. Do you think it is compatible with JK's Skyrim Lite and ETaC as both alter towns and cities and SDoS adds merchants? Will it interfer with Realistic Room Rental Basic as it alters the innkeepers? Did you already consider using Immersive Citizens AI Overhaul? Its not done for all locations but where it already works, it completely overhauls the AI and the behaviour of NPCs. You can probably stop using Lively Inns and Taverns as with IC the people love to go to taverns in the evening anyway.
  21. For me it always looked like the engine was fragile as hell and the creativity of the modding scene was limitless. However, as mentioned above, what should your Skyrim look like in the end? Something that feels like vanilla Skyrim as it could have been with two more years of development time? An anime with flurry stuff and LSD colors? GTA inspired madness? An extreme role playing version where you can and have to do everything? A BDSM themed boobs-everywhere version? ...
  22. I benchmarked my installation, Vividian ENB (default vanilla preset) together with Vividian Clouds and Groundfogs, VividSnow, Climates of Tamriel, Supreme Storms and Enhanced Snow System took me down from 56.3 to 36.0 fps (while reducing VRAM usage and improving fps stability quite a bit). As CoT and the others are known for having a fps impact, the effect of Vividian wasn't that bad. Why aiming for 60fps+ anyway? Are you planning to use Oculus Rift?
  23. I wouldn't see 99% GPU load as a negative thing, in contrary, if it ISN'T 99% something else is bottlenecking your performance. The only three reasons your GPU should be on low load is when you're playing a really, really CPU heavy simulation (Project CARS does that for me when not using Anti Aliasing) or when you're playing Skyrim with really, really low graphics settings (Vanilla Launcher options "low" and "medium" did that for me) or when you have a really, really shitty CPU. In every other case its fine to know your GPU does everything it can to give you framerate.
  24. ...you're gonna urgently need when using an ENB or ETaC or JKs Skyim/Cities...
  25. Could be something related to ELE or Relighting Skyrim?! Got any screenshots?
