Transfer MO mods & settings to different PC?
elwaps replied to hypercleats's question in Mod Organizer Support
Good thing this thread already exists, I was just about to open a new one with the same topic. Has anyone tested the procedure already in the meantime? A friend of mine and my brother both have Skyrim but both are a bit afraid of mods as they think using them is pretty complicated and prone to making the game instable (and they're right). Now, I'm finally short before achieving a perfectly modded (STEP Extended, VEGA Core, REGS, other mods, 257 esps) and perfectly stable Skyrim with not a single CTD or freeze in almost 100 hours of playing. I've one final issue to solve (see https://forum.step-project.com/topic/7431-step-extended-vega-core-regs-more-skyrim-stopped-working-in-whiterun-around-whiterun-and-in-riften/) but as soon as I've done that, I'd like to do the following: - reinstalling Skyrim on their systems - setting it up exactly like described in the STEP guide respectively on my machine - installing all the tools needed (MO, SKSE,...) - zipping my entire Skyim folder (46GB) including my MO and everything - extracting and overwriting their new Skyrim folders - change the paths in my MO.ini to their install path - enjoy watching them play an entirely new Skyrim they don't know Unfortunately I've got no second machine comparable to mine where I could test the procedure before ruining something on their current, slightly modded (some textures and SkyRe) systems. They both have nVidia cards (GTX 780 & GTX 780 Ti), I got one too (GTX 680 4GB), so settings shouldn't be any problem. But at home all I got left is another machine with an old triple core AMD CPU and an AMD HD5770, I can't imagine my setup would be running there as my VRAM usage is usually at 2-3 GB. So what's your experiences? -
Just recorded a video of the problem. Its actually almost every time exactly this spot where the game keeps crashing when coming from outside. As said above, when coming from Dragonsreach its the middle of the stairs. Sorry for the bad quality but Action! (my recording tool) stopped Skyrim from starting so I had to use my phone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9g8pzTKJVnM

5) About VEGA I'm pretty sure the problem didn't occur "back then", when only VEGA but not REGS was installed. Besides this, despite VEGA isn't continued anymore, I believe the contained mods still are. 6) Procedure for installing a new non-STEP mod - downloading and installing through MO - checking the box in the left pane - running LOOT, changing the order when it is advised in the mod's description on Nexus - running WyreBash and rebuilding the BashedPatch - running FNIS (including skeleton arm fix) and put the overwrite stuff into my FNIS-Patch container - running SUM and putting the ReProccer and DSR stuff into their own containers - running the game through SKSE Just saying, perhaps I'm doing something horribly wrong. Don't think so tho as the crashes are limited to certain regions and circumstances. By the way, how do I make the spoiler-tags above work? Sorry for the unclear post.

Thank you for your response. Here's the results of the things mentioned in your link. 1) SKSE.ini Looks exactly like the quote in your link: 2) Memory Blocks Log Looks exactly like the quote in your link with a bunch of numbers added to the bottom. I've installed the plugin, loaded the main menu and continued with my last save at the middle of the steps leading from Dragonsreach to Whiterun center (one of the crash-spots). 3) SKSE_Elys_AltF4.log and hdtPhysicsExtensions.log Just in case it might help. 4) TES5Edit Error CheckI've checked "All" and manually unchecked everything up to the last unofficial patch.Unfortunately TES5Edit doesn't want to load due to too many plugins. So in addition to the main files and the unofficial patches I've deselected the next four plugins too- Skyrim Project Optimization - Full Version.esm- Falskaar.esm- Wyrmstooth.esp- XFLMain.esmThe result of this can be found in the next post as the forum tells me this one would be too long... Its even too long to post it in one piece, so part2 will be again found in the next post... :p

Hey everyone. As I've just registered and this is my first post, I hope my thread is correct regarding the rules. Problem: no CTDs, no freezes but "Skyrim stopped working", see below. System Specs - Intel Core i7 2600 (not overclocked) - 2x 4GB DDR3 1333MHz (not overclocked) - Gainward GTX 680 Phantom 4GB (not overclocked) - Samsung SSD 830 256GB (Windows + Programs + Skyrim) Software - Windows 7 Home Premium x64 - nVidia driver 347.09 - Mod Organizer - SKSE - TES5Edit - Wyre Bash (Bashed Patch) - FNIS (FNIS Patch) - SUM (Reproccer Patch, DSR Patch) Skyrim STEP Setup - Strictly followed the STEP Extended 2.2.9 Wiki guide, only skipped mods that weren't available anymore - Added VEGA Core (instead of Extended, due to stability reasons) - Added REGS Other mods - Character Creation Overhaul - ApachiiSkyHair + Male + Female - Expanded Skyrim Presets - Trade Routes - Realistic Lightning Overhaul - Arissa The Wandering Rogue - INIGO (another voiced follower) - Skyrim Peasant Fashion + Fix - Immersive Patrols - OBIS + Alternate Start Fix - SkyTEST + DG Wolf Fix + DG + DB - Birds of Skyrim - skyBirds - Pets of Skyrim - CBBE + Mature Skin Texture and Body - Followers and Factions unprotected - HDT Physics Extensions - Pretty Combat Animations - Pretty Staff and Magic Cast Animations - Bodyslide2 and Outfit Studio - Omnisway Clothing Replacer + Bodyslide Build - Intro Music Replacement by Malukah - Fantasy Soundtrack Project + Combat + Unique Places - Immersive Wait and Sleep Menu - Professions - The Dance of Death - Combat Drama Overhaul - WARZONES 2015 Complete Load Order Settings - 1920x1080 - everything set exactly like described in the STEP guide - quality versions of mods preferred due to 4GB of VRAM - DS2X Antialiasing forced via nVidia Inspector - no ENB besides the speedhack and windowed mode like described in STEP - all MCM settings like described in STEP, VEGA and REGS - all MCM settings from other mods at default except told otherwise - some ini-settings modified to get rid of distant mountain flicker Skyrim Performance - nearly 60fps or VSync-capped 60fps almost everywhere in Skyrim - less but very well playable fps (~40) around Riften (dense forest) - partially framedrops in cities (covered by JK's cities or ETaC) down to ~20-30fps - maximum VRAM usage in Whiterun ~3350MB - average VRAM usage in Whiterun ~3100MB - average RAM usage in Whiterun ~1950MB - GPU usage in Whiterun ~35-60% - maximum GPU temperature in Whiterun ~70°C - average threads in Whiterun ~20 - CPU usage and temperature can't be measured by Skyrim Performance Monitor but I know the processor isn't overheating as it manages to handle Project CARS (100% usage all the time) without overheating too CRASHES - CTDs: none - Freezes: none - 99% of the time everything works perfectly well and fluid - sometimes I got short stutter, about half the length of an Autosave Manager save BUT - "Skyrim stopped working" often happens when -- loading into the Whiterun cell -- loading into the Riften cell -- entering the area in front of Whiterun, where the stables are If, however, Skyrim doesn't crash when entering those areas, I can run around there for hours and nothing happens. It seems that something goes wrong while loading those cells. I don't think there's a major conflict between mods as it should crash every time then, which doesn't happen. Perhaps it got something to do with performance issues, but in that case I don't know how I can walk around for ages in those areas if everything goes right in the beginning. Let me give you some examples of when and how those crashes happen: 1) approaching Whiterun from the east 2) entering the area where ETaC added stuff, near the stables 3) a short freeze like those of the Autosave Manager happens 4) a Windows message pops up: "Skyrim stopped working" 5) I have to close the window and Skyrim is gone 6) restarting Skyrim, reloading the last save 7) reentering the same area 8a) in ~80% of the cases everything goes well when entering the area, afterwards everything is stable 8b) in ~20% of the cases see 3) and repeat 1) entering Whiterun from outside and immediately manually save 2) walking a few steps until I reach the forgery 3) a short freeze like those of the Autosave Manager happens 4) a Windows message pops up: "Skyrim stopped working" 5) I have to close the window and Skyrim is gone 6) restarting Skyrim, reloading the save from inside Whiterun (see 1)) 7) walking until about I reach the forgery again 8a) in ~90% of the cases everything goes well when entering the area, afterwards everything is stable 8b) in ~10% of the cases see 3) and repeat 1) entering Whiterun from Dragonsreach and immediately manually save 2) walking a few steps until I'm halfway down the steps 3) a short freeze like those of the Autosave Manager happens 4) a Windows message pops up: "Skyrim stopped working" 5) I have to close the window and Skyrim is gone 6) restarting Skyrim, reloading the save from above (see 1)) 7) walking until about I reach the middle of the steps again 8a) in ~90% of the cases everything goes well when entering the area, afterwards everything is stable 8b) in ~10% of the cases see 3) and repeat Already excluded from the list of potential causes - some ini-settings modified to get rid of distant mountain flicker (problem already occured before I've made these changes) - other mods than STEP, VEGA and REGS (as the problem started after installing REGS if not earlier) - the cells themselves (as they work fine for unlimited time after the initial phase of potential crash is over) - the 3.1GB cap?!? I think this shouldn't be the problem when you look at the screenshot below as there wasn't any crash when monitoring What the heck could this be? I'm always only reading about CTDs and freezes but my problem doesn't seem to be covered anywhere. It seems to be performance related and it seems to be limited to JK and ETaC-covered areas (well, they are the only ones eating up so much performance) but both are part of REGS and should be stable. I've attached a screenshot of Skyrim Performance Monitor (running around in Whiterun without having a crash). Please help me guys! As soon as this error is fixed, I feel I got a perfect Skyrim for the first time since release! :)
