  1. @Tech: Did you mean to link to the DirectX 9 June 2010 End-User Runtimes? The link you posted goes to a generic Windows 10 download page.
  2. Glad to hear you got it fixed. I tend to agree that it was most likely something messed up in the XP32 skeleton that was causing the issue. I don't know if you absolutely have to run FNIS after updating the skeleton, but I always have on basis that FNIS is dependent on the skeleton.
  3. Shiny new toys... I hope the upgrade goes well and you get a lot of enjoyment out of the new card.
  4. The original post is wrong and I just corrected it. The setting should be fMouseHeadingSensitivity. This is the copy 'n paste version of the Controls section in my SkyrimPrefs.ini showing where I originally commented out the setting from spINI with the original value. I seem to be developing dyslexia as I grow older so I have to triple check what I read and write (commonly omitting words between reading and writing, and reversing numbers). [Controls] bAlwaysRunByDefault=1 bGamePadRumble=1 bInvertYValues=0 bMouseAcceleration=0 fGamepadHeadingSensitivity=1.0000 ;fMouseHeadingSensitivity=0.0500 fMouseHeadingSensitivity=0.0125 bUseKinect=0
  5. The intent of the STEP Guide is to stay as close to the vanilla game as possible to provide a solid foundation for additional packs that can be added on top of STEP Core or STEP Extended. This means mods like Wyrmstooth and Falskaar are not appropriate for STEP Core or STEP Extended, but are appropriate for an additional pack that adds new cities and towns on top of STEP.
  6. If you reinstalled XP32, it might be a good idea to re-run GenerateFNISForUsers.exe with the current skeleton. You shouldn't need to update the bashed patch and you don't need to rerun DynDOLOD.
  7. I've never used either of these mods, but I'm curious if you looked at the guards with Mfg Console? This will at least give you the FormIDs of the guards and the name of the mod the guards come from and the name of the last mod that modifies the guards. Perhaps that might give you a starting point for the investigation.
  8. I think you can go with STEP Extended if you have 2GB VRAM, but you'll want to use lower quality meshes and textures where available (e.g. Ultimate HD Fire Effects-Low Resolution instead of Ultimate HD Fire Effects-Medium Resolution).
  9. If you need specific help with anything, feel free to ask.
  10. Complete Crafting Overhaul Lore Based Loading Screens Translated versions of other mods may be available as well, but I think Complete Crafting Overhaul is the primary one you want.
  11. I need a LIKE button. PSA is public service announcement?
  12. I've never noticed anything like this when mousing over a save in Mod Organizer with Skyrim saves. I assume TTW is Tale of Two Wastelands, so this makes me wonder if it might be something funky with the image format that (qt/qtk?) isn't handling properly.
  13. A few points from the mod page: The mass of the signs have been increased so they don't swing quite as violently as the vanilla signs. Skyrim is very windy. The min/max angle of the hinges have been increased to prevent the signs from slamming against this unrealistic restriction. The included .esp file changes the placement of the alchemy store sign in Windhelm so it doesn't hit the house wall when it swings.Should be compatible with weather mods, though if they alter the wind strength this will obvious affect how much the signs swing.
  14. Run nxmhandler.exe in the Mod Organizer folder to register the handler to see if this helps.
  15. I agree that the Dawnguard questline is much more fleshed out than the Dragonborn questline, but I've never really been a fan of Apocrypha. That realm seems as if it was copied and pasted from some other game. I doubt very many people have paid much attention to the lava craters in the game because they seem to blend in to the dirt during the day and I think the eye tends to gravitate towards the far more visible heartstone that's usually next to it.
  16. Here's a link to the DynDOLOD thread run by Sheshon: https://forum.step-project.com/topic/5011-dynamic-distant-objects-lod-dyndolod-147/
  17. Moved to Tamriel Traders/Skyrim for general discussions about Skyrim. I think Bethesda left a lot to be desired regarding the waterways in Skyrim. If I remember correctly, there are two places in Skyrim where it's possible to use a boat: traveling between Windhelm and Solstheim, and traveling between the coast and Castle Valkihaar (although I probably mangled the spelling of the castle). Both are unfortunately nothing more than imagined boating with fast travel magic so the boats may as well not exist. I remember using another mod that allowed the player to visit new lands in the Sea of Ghosts, but it was just glorified fast traveling as well. Now that an actual boat mod is a reality in Skyrim, how about some real working fishing rods?
  18. Vanilla / Embers HD / Embers HD + Vividian Vanilla I initially forgot to turn off the Vividian Vanilla ENB and then noticed the colors look better with it, so I included three screenshots.
  19. I think all Windows licenses these days (with the exception of volume licenses) are locked to the hardware so you can't use the same key to install Windows on a new PC. I think even Office licenses (with the exception of Office 365 subscriptions) are locked to the hardware now. Welcome to the world of software rentals.
  20. Huh... I thought it should be as simple as setting the BIOS to UEFI boot mode and then booting a Windows 7 x64 installer from a USB stick. The caveats here being that UEFI boot must be used with GPT partitions and UEFI doesn't supports 32-bit operating systems. This link is more specific to dual booting Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 https://www.partitionwizard.com/partitionmanager/dual-boot-windows-7-and-windows-8.html
  21. Using Windows Explorer, right click on ModOrganizer.exe, and click Properties to see if the Unblock button shows up at the bottom right corner of the Properties dialog. I'm wondering if this screwball Windows "security" feature might be blocking access to the certificate store, but this is just a guess because I disabled this misfeature years ago to avoid these kinds of issues when copying files from my own servers. If I remember correctly, blocked .NET 3.5 exes and dlls can't run with full trust but they need full trust to access the certificate store (and APIs). EDIT: Take this with somewhat of a grain of salt because I may be misremembering this behavior from an older .NET Framework. In any case, I remember having to jump through some hoops to get keys working properly.
  22. Assuming this is the case, just uncheck the mods in batches and run Wrye Bash until you find the culprit.
  23. The Not So Fast Main Quest mod delays the start of Dragon Rising. When you initially speak to the Jarl of Whiterun, you'll get the quest to retrieve the dragonstone. When you return with the dragonstone, you'll need to wait eight days for Dragon Rising to trigger.
  24. It looks as if at least some mods are compatible with the enhanced edition and it is easier to setup than tutu. There is a somewhat interesting discussion of this here: https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/13670/bg-ee-or-bgtutu-bgt I have Baldur's Gate I and II on CD here, but I never really played them much.
  25. I think the most common cause of this error is a corrupted mod.
