  1. Install and enable Memory Blocks Log and play the game until you crash to desktop. Post the log here in spoiler tags after you reproduce the crash to desktop.

  3. I think I've seen a couple of others report that same error with Mod Organizer 1.3.11, but I don't think anyone has figured out what causes it or how to solve it. Have you reported this to Tannin in the github bug tracker?
  4. What I mean is that if you want to use the STEP Extended patch, you'll need to install all of the mods required by the STEP Extended patch as listed in the STEP Compilation topic I linked earlier.
  5. If you using Mod Organizer with Skyrim, you should use Mod Organizer 1.3.11 from Nexus. Mod Organizer 2 Alpha is a 64-bit version for Fallout 4.
  6. STEP Extended includes all mods in the STEP 2.2.9.2 guide. STEP Core includes only the mods in the STEP 2.2.9.2 guide with the green bar. The requirements for the patches can be found in the STEP Compilation topic. In this case you have installed all of STEP Core, but you haven't installed all of the mods required to use the STEP Extended patch so you should either stick with the STEP Core patch or install the remainder of the STEP Extended mods if you want to use the STEP Extended patch.
  7. For what it's worth, I created two executable shortcuts in Mod Organizer to reduce the number of steps to two: Title: DynDOLOD TexGen Binary: C:\Games\TES5Edit\TES5Edit.exe Arguments: -o:"C:\Games\ModOrganizer\mods\DynDOLOD TexGen" Title: DynDOLOD Worlds Binary: C:\Games\TES5Edit\TES5Edit.exe Arguments: -o:"C:\Games\ModOrganizer\mods\DynDOLOD Worlds" These create the TexGen and Worlds output right in a new mod in the ModOrganizer folder so I don't need to manually create mods from the output.
  8. Draugr is currently in testing. Falmer has been discussed but it isn't in testing. Skeleton has been accepted and is currently in STEP 2.2.9.2. Dragon Priest is currently in testing. All links above are to the appropriate mod topic.
  9. My recommendation is to get the base STEP 2.2.9.2 profile working and stable before adding any additional mods. When you get to DynDOLOD, make sure you are using the latest version of xEdit and the latest version of DynDOLOD. Note that you actually need to download and install FO4Edit PreRelease Alpha for DynDOLOD. FO4Edit and TES5Edit are actually the same thing.
  10. I remember using one spell for Faralda and one spell with the Amulet of Saarthal (although I suppose I could have used a staff if I had one), but I don't remember using any other spells in this quest line to become archmage. I can certainly say I became archmage with crude novice magic skills and nearly zip magicka. Just as a curious question, is it even possible to play Skyrim as a pure mage without having to rely on weapons? I've tried it a couple of times, but I always quickly reverted back to a bow given how quickly my magicka depleted without doing much damage.
  11. @Mandalay: I think you're referring to Maniac Mansion? I'd heard of this game from friends with Commodore 64s, but it wasn't available for the Radio Shack Color Computer. I think the only LucasArts games available were Koronis Rift and Rescue on Fractalus. By the time I got a PC clone, Maniac Mansion wasn't generally available. Anyone remember 5.25-inch flippy disks? Punch a second sector index hole using a hole punch, cut out an extra write-enable notch, and flip the disk cover to write on both sides using a single-sided drive. @TechAngel: I just realized I'm really getting old because I just thought of CDs and DVDs as ancient technology, and then I remembered I was actually thinking of laser discs from the late '70s or early '80s. Now that you mention it, I haven't used a CD or a DVD in a long time either. I stopped buying and storing audio CDs a hundred years ago in favor of MP3s and I haven't purchased any DVDs since streaming became viable. I regained a ton of space when I dumped all my music CDs. I haven't quite gotten to the point of dumping my DVD collection, but I haven't touched them in at least a year or so. Although completely unrelated, I haven't watched anything on cable/satellite in about 10 years.
  12. Are you following the Skyrim Revisited: Legendary Edition guide?
  13. From the mod's description: I played the game using two different approaches. In the first playthrough I completed Urag's side quests to fetch various books and slept in the College of Winterhold until the Saarthal quest triggered. After completing the Saarthal quest up to Tolfdir's musings on the Orb, I completed a bunch more of Urag's side quests to fetch more books until Ancano appeared. In the second playthrough, I attended Tolfdir's initial lesson on wards and went AWOL for a couple of weeks completing side quests elsewhere. When I finally returned to the College of Winterhold, I slept in the bed until 8:00 am. When I awoke, Tolfidir walked over and started the Saarthal quest. After completing the Saarthal quest and its various side quests, I went AWOL again for a couple of weeks while completing various quests and side quests elsewhere. When I finally returned to the College of Winterhold and entered the library, Ancano appeared. Overall the mod works very well for what it does and I think it fits into the STEP guide, but it is really up to player to decide what to do with the delays between the quests.

  15. Moved to Skyrim Revisited Support.
  16. Moved to Wrye Bash support.
  17. If you are going through the STEP 2.2.9.2 guide, you'll need to install each mod in the guide in the order the mods are listed. You do not need to install any mods that are not included in the guide I linked. The mods listed in the credits have been merged into the STEP Compilation mod.
  18. It's generally a good idea to keep the FNIS generated output stored in separate "mods" for each profile. In your first profile: Run GenerateFNISForUsers to generate the animationsRight click the Output folder, select Create Mod, and name the mod something like "FNIS Output Profile 1". You can use any name you want, but you'll want to use a name that reminds you this mod belongs to this profile.Copy your first profile into a new profile. Now in the second profile: Uncheck "FNIS Output Profile 1" because this mod doesn't belong to the new profileRun GenerateFNIForUsers to generate the animationsRight click the Output folder, select Create Mod, and name the mod something lie "FNIS Output Profile 2".The advantage with keeping the generated output separate is that you can use different skeletons and different animation packs with each profile, and you can re-run GenerateFNISForUsers at any time in either profile without it affecting the other profile. You'll want to keep any generated mods (like the bashed patch) stored as separate mods in each profile as well.
  19. Is the first line of memory blocks log actually reporting 512 256?
  20. @Mandalay: I think Kings Quest is memorable for me because it was one of the first graphics-based adventure games to come out at that time. The Sierra adventures were really easy to solve compared to Adventure and the Zork series, and they are really short. I didn't realize just how short they are until I picked it up again a couple of years ago and solved it in less than an hour. Sierra also had what I consider a bad habit of inserting arcade sequences into their games that don't belong in an adventure game.
  21. A lot of my friends had Commodore 64s back in the '80s and they were great gaming machines for the time. I had even considered getting a Commodore 64 or Apple I or II back in the early '80s but I was more into operating systems and compilers, so the OS-9 operating system swayed me over to the Rat Shack side of town with what looked like a toy computer. My first PC clone was a Tandy 2000 and later a Tandy 1000 (I think) EX, both of which were donated. The Tandy 2000 had some "enhanced graphics" that wasn't compatible with mainstream PCs and the Tandy 1000s had some minor compatibility issues. I definitely wouldn't have purchased the Tandy 2000 with my own just because of the compatibility issues. The Tandy 1000s were OK even though they had a few minor compatibility issues, but they were priced a wee bit steep for my budget. Back in those days I barely had a budget for food and gas, though. After this the clone wars erupted big time, so I've been building my own PCs ever since. I get a lot more enjoyment hand picking the parts, including a couple of very flaky AMD motherboards. I think at that time most of the AMD motherboards on the market had a fair share of issues, so I moved back to mainstream Intel processors with Intel motherboards and haven't looked back. I've since switched to ASUS motherboards and love 'em.
  22. I remember my first deep dive into gaming was with the Colossal Cave Adventure by Will Crowther and the expanded version by Don Woods. I spent many days crawling through those caves and trying to find my way out of the maze of twisty little passages all alike. From there I moved onto the Zork series of text adventures from Infocom and the Kings Quest series of graphics adventures from Sierra. Back in these days I was using a TRS-80 Color Computer 1 and 3 running the OS-9 operating system (multitasking/multi-user operating system for the 6809 and later 68000 processors) and I was primarily into hardware and software development, so I didn't spend a significant amount of time gaming. Later on I moved into the world of PCs running MS-DOS, Windows, and OS/2 and dabbled in a few games here and there like Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Myst, Riven, Dungeon Siege, Prince of Persia but never really found anything that really grabbed my attention until I came across Morrowind. When Oblivion came out I was really sucked into the game with somewhat of a love/hate relationship. I loved the game, but all the bugs were really irritating. I specifically remember being able to walk right up to the front door of a cave and it would refuse to recognize I had discovered that location until I walked around to find the exact trigger spot. I remember coming across some mods for Oblivion at one point, but never really did anything with them. I didn't really get into modding until after Skyrim came out with the typical trials and tribulations of not knowing what I was doing. I still spend the majority of my time stuck in a compiler, but Skyrim is my go to game when I need a break.
  23. And you are using the latest versions of TES5Edit and Loot?
  24. Have you used Memory Blocks Log to verify it's not a memory allocation issue?
  25. What are DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB and ScrapHeapSizeMB set to in skse.ini? EDIT: I'm not so sure you want SKSE and SSME installed at the same time because they do the same thing so they are conflicting with each other.
