DROPPED NARC - No Animals Report Crimes (by Pharros)
Greg replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
The STEP guide requires Skyrim Legendary Edition or Skyrim with all of the DLCs installed. -
Failed to spawn... Access is denied
Greg replied to RoboticPlayer's question in Mod Organizer Support
Can you try running an executable that results in this error and then post the log again? The log you posted doesn't have any information on executing anything so there's not much to go on. -

The --game parameter to LOOT is useful if you have multiple games (like Fallout: New Vegas and Skyrim) installed to tell it which game to use; otherwise, you shouldn't really need it. For your issue, have you tried temporarily disabling your antivirus to make sure it isn't getting in the way? It sounds as if it might be a permissions issue, but this (theoretically) shouldn't be case if you've mod the game and all the tools outside Program Files and Program Files (x86). -
Mod Organizer 1.x can't hook 64-bit applications, so always use the 32-bit version of applications inside Mod Organizer.

Have you checked the conflicts tab for this mod to determine what it is overwriting in the SRLEX mods?

The save you downloaded depends on all the old unofficial patches so it won't work with USLEEP. The best advice I can give you is to delete that save, install Alternate Start: Live Another Life and use one of the alternate starts if your goal is to avoid having to go through the vanilla carriage ride.

Updating from version 1.1.18 for USLEEP

Once you have applied a filter and want to go back to the unfiltered list, right click on any of the filters (like ) and click Deselect Filter. Repeat this for any selected filters until the text changes to Filter () at the bottom. -
ACCEPTED XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended (by Groovtama)
Greg replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
You can either move XMPSE down so XMPSE overrides Better Vampire or you can hide the skeleton in Better Vampire so it no longer overrides XPMSE. -
This is because Windows Explorer trims leading and trailing spaces from the name, so it effectively confuses itself into erroneously thinking this is the same file name. It would be understandable if it trims the text entered by the user, but it mistakenly trims the name it gets from the disk as well. Your technique to rename " test" to xtest and then rename xtest to test works well. You can also do it from the command line without the intermediate step: ren " step" step

NEW Skyrim Special edition... Future of STEP?
Greg replied to razanon's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I don't think you'll be able to use stuff like Skyrim Script Extender, Fores New idles in Skyrim, Dual Sheath Redux, or any mod that requires a patcher on console. -
Skyrim CTD BEFORE Bethesda Logo with ENB
Greg replied to SayidD's question in Post-Processing Support
It's not a good idea to download and overwrite skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini (or even enblocal.ini) because (as you just discovered) some of the settings are specific to your system. At this point I think you should run Skyrim Launcher to let it generate your ini files fresh and then download and run BethINI to safely optimize the skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini settings. -
MCM Settings - Timing is Everything
Greg replied to Whiskey990's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports (retired)
Same here. Install FileAccess Interface for Skyrim Script, install Author's Preset Setting, and then load the settings from the MCM menu. Note that both files should be installed as mods in Mod Organizer. To load the settings, ESC to open the menu, Mod Settings / Timing is Everything, and there should be an entry (I think at the top right) to load settings. -
Marked for testing.

When you click the download button, the popup has a link to mirrors.

I don't think there are any advantages to removing the DLC after cleaning. In fact, Steam is likely to re-install the DLC at some point anyway so you may as well leave them in place. The situation is quite a bit different with mods downloaded via Steam so you'll want to subscribe to the mod on Steam, get Steam to download the files, move the files into Mod Organizer as a mod, and unsubscribe from the mod so Steam doesn't download it again when you least expect it. There are instructions floating around here for dealing with mods on Steam.

how to get rid of immersive citizens and still have step work
Greg replied to izuul's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
You can either remove Immersive Citizens or install Immersive Citizens Lite depending on your preference. After you do this, reinstall the STEP Compilation Installer and it should automatically pick the appropriate patch without Immersive Citizens. -
Strange display errors and mod recognition with new computer
Greg replied to mpotto's question in Mod Organizer with STEP
You need to delete everything in the Skyrim/data directory except the files that come with the game. One potential solution is to delete everything in the Skyrim/data directory and then use Steam to validate integrity to redownload the files that came with the game. -
Skyrim CTD BEFORE Bethesda Logo with ENB
Greg replied to SayidD's question in Post-Processing Support
Put your skse.ini file back in place and delete the memory section. You need the other settings in skse.ini: [General] ClearInvalidRegistrations=1 [Display] iTintTextureResolution=2048 -
It took about 30 seconds or so to load the STEP 2.2.9.2 guide a few minutes ago.

Did you install the June 2010 DX9 Runtime? -
Mod Organizer - export all active textures from virtual data directory
Greg replied to dunc001's question in Mod Organizer Support
Yeah, that would certainly be the easiest option. Just create a new mod folder (say mods/Optimized Textures) and move everything directly into that folder without worrying about the VFS at all.
