  1. Leave the High Resolution Texture Pack BSA's ticked in the Archive tab. Mod Organizer should tick these by default, but the instructions are included to verify these are in fact ticked.
  2. This makes me question my setup because I see only six non-conflicted files. These are the NIFs in the meshes/Effects folder. Everything else is overwritten by Realstic Water Two (fxwatertileflat_n.dds and fxfluidtile02.dds), TES5LODGen (all the bto files), or Static Mesh Improvement Mod (SMfarmhousewindmillfan.nif).
  3. When you post long lists (such as mod lists), please include them in spoiler tags to keep the message size from scrolling too much.
  4. Here's a video that demonstrates how to upgrade RAM in a computer. It's a very simple process and you typically don't need to anything other than replace the DIMMs. Note that your ASUS motherboard may alert that it detected new memory when you first turn it on. If it does, boot into BIOS (usually just press DEL at the prompt or at the BIOS logo) and save changes. If everything goes well, you should boot into Windows normally and magically have access to all that shiny new memory. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xp9g4t2426A Deciding which memory modules to purchase is actually very easy. Browse to the Crucial website (or which memory manufacturer you desire), change the combo boxes to something like Motherboard, Asus, M4A88T-M, and click Go/Find/Search/Whatever, and then scroll through the list to pick the size and speed you want. I always use Crucial because of the lifetime guarantee, I've been using Crucial for many years, and I don't feel comfortable switching brands without a really good reason. You pretty much already know you need DDR3 1600 so you could just go straight to Newegg or Amazon and search for DDR3 1600 and select an appropriate manufacturer, size, speed, and price.
  5. Which file in PerMa is prompting you for the data directory? I downloaded and installed the current version PerMa files and found that two are FOMOD installers and Mod Organizer 1.3.8 installed the third file without any prompts other than for the mod name.
  6. AMD Catalyst Control Center NVidia Inspector
  7. If you're on a budget, I think the most bang for your buck is to upgrade the memory to 8GB to give yourself a lot more breathing room with ENBoost and upgrade the video card to a more recent model with 3GB or 4GB VRAM. Upgrading to 8GB using a set of four 2GB DDR3 1600 SIMMs runs about $100 and is an excellent investment if you're using a 64-bit operating system because it allows ENBoost to offload a lot of meshes, textures, and so forth into a separate process. If you're using a 32-bit operating system, you need to upgrade to a 64-bit operating system. The video card is probably in the $200 to $400 range using the Nvidia GTX960 as the baseline at the bottom end. You'll probably also want to check the power specs on the video cards, but I don't think you'll need more than the 650 watt power supply you already have. The GTX960 requires a minimum 400 watt power supply, for example. For specific recommendations, I'll let one of the Nvidia gurus chime in. I thought about the CPU upgrade as well, but I don't see any AM3 socket processors on Newegg. I do see AM3+ socket processors, but I don't know if these are compatible.
  8. The install order in the STEP 2.2.9.1 guide is correct so you can ignore Mod Organizer's warning about the plugin order. After you run the Dual Sheath Redux patcher, the STEP guide says to right click on the Overwrite and create a mod named DSR Output. From looking at the screenshot, it looks as if you haven't run this yet. When you do, you should end up with the SkyProc Patchers folder and Dual Sheath Redux Patch.eps in overwrite.
  9. This happens if you're using an older version of Mod Organizer. I had the same problem because I had downloaded and extracted Mod Organizer 1.3.8 but forgot to update the shortcut I use to run Mod Organizer. What happens is that Loot sorts the load order correctly, but Mod Organizer 1.2.18 can't parse Unofficial Skyrim Patch correctly so you'll see a lot of warnings in the bottom pane and it's always "stuck" below the other Unofficial patches in the right pane and can't be moved. I was just about on the verge of trying dynamite when I realized I was still on Mod Organizer 1.2.18. Once I fixed the shortcut to run Mod Organizer 1.3.8, it worked as it should after I ran Loot once more.
  10. You should install SKSE plugins through Mod Organizer. If you look at the STEP 2.2.9.1 instructions, you'll see that Stable uGrids to Load, RaceMenu, Double Cursor Fix, Enchantment Reload Fix, Fuz Ro D-oh - Silent Voice, etc. are all SKSE plugins installed through Mod Organizer. The only items installed into the main game folder are primarily extensions that must be installed in the Skyrim folder outside of the Data folder -- ENB, ENB presets, and the SKSE executables. Pretty much everything else is installed through Mod Organizer.
  11. Have you checked Memory Blocks Log to see if you need to increase the size of the memory blocks? Also, have you verified SKSE is managing memory correctly and that you enblocal.ini settings are correct?
  12. Mod Organizer use the Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini in the Mod Organizer/profiles/{profile} folder so that the vanilla INI files remain unaltered. If you need to edit either INI file, do so through Mod Organizer's INI Editor. By the same token, Mod Organizer uses the skse.ini file in the Mod Organizer/mods/SKSE/SKSE folder. You can edit the SKSE.ini file by double clicking the SKSE mod in the left pane in Mod Organizer, select the INI Files tab, click SKSE/SKSE.ini if it isn't already selected, and edit the text in the big pane on the right side of the tab.
  13. Make sure you are using the latest version of Mod Organizer (1.3.8), Loot (0.6.0 or later), and Dual Sheath Redux. What tripped me up initially is that I had forgotten to update Mod Organizer and it kept sticking the Unofficial Skyrim Patch below the other unofficial patches despite the load order sorted by Loot. After I upgraded Mod Organizer to 1.3.8 and ran Loot to re-sort the load order, the Dual Sheath Redux patch and bashed patch worked.
  14. For comparison, I get 7904 with a single 290X with 16GB RAM and I think your 290X crossfire setup should be about the same.
  15. In this case, the checkbox isn't grayed out even though the mod is checked and is in the load order. I think it's still enabled because the BSA contains only scripts and doesn't have a single conflict so the load order of the BSA is pretty much irrelevant, but this is just a guess.
  16. All BSA files are listed in the Archives tab with a checkbox to allow Mod Organizer to manage the BSA, even if the ESP is not a dummy plugin. If you load HelmetToggle2.02b.esp in TES5Edit, you'll see that it has a few records for Armor, Global Settings, Magic Effects, Quests, and Spells so it isn't a dummy plugin.
  17. Click the Start button, type Control Panel. Curse the completely irrelevant Bing search results then click My Stuff to find what you're actually trying to find. You should see Control Panel at the top and you may want to pin it to the start menu. Once you're in the old familiar and useful Control Panel, open Programs and Features and click "Turn Windows features on or off"
  18. After looking at the layout of the mod and quickly experimenting, I have a hunch... Did you extract the files to the "Enchanting Awakened-42796-1-61" folder then right click "Enchanting Awakened-42796-1-61" and select 7-Zip/Add to archive? If you do this, 7-Zip creates a folder structure like this: Enchanting Awakened-42796-1-61-- Docs ---- Imgs --00 Required Files - DB and DG...If you then install this mod, the installer looks for and finds an FOMOD folder with a ModuleConfig.xml file so everything seems to be fine. But, when it goes to install the files it can't find the /00 Required Files - DB and DG folder because it's actually Enchanting Awakened-42796-1-61/00 Required Files - DB and DG. What you have to do is to go into the Enchanting Awakened-42796-1-61 folder, press Ctrl+A to highlight everything, and then select 7-Zip/Add to archive so the folder structure is retained.
  19. Can you provide a link to the mod in question?
  20. Have you verified the ModOrganizer.ini file doesn't have the read-only attribute set and disabled your anti-virus to make sure it isn't interfering?
  21. I've never run Mod Organizer with admin privileges, but I keep all the Skyrim utilities in a separate folder I created so I have full access permissions.
  22. I've used Lakeview Manor a few times and it isn't an bad choice, per se, but it feels like a grind going through the vanilla house-building ritual. If you haven't been through the house-building ritual yet, build an anvil and a forge as quickly as you can because you'll need lots of iron ore to make into iron ingots to make into nails. Also plan on making lots of trips to the lumber mill. It seems I make a bench, off the lumber mill, make a table and chairs, off to the lumber mill... Building Lakeview Manor increases Smithing very quickly. I often think Smithing increases way too fast when building a house. Lakewview Manor has room to sleep eight people, but I don't think it'st organized very well and the storage containers seem to be placed somewhat haphazardly and perhaps even in excess to some degree. I usually build a family room, storage room, and either a library or a kitchen. The library doesn't have enough bookcases and I think the trophy room is somewhat of a waste of space -- meaning specifically the Hearthfire version in the build-your-own-homes.
  23. I agree with Nozzer. The Helgen Reborn player home is really nice and well organized. The containers are even labeled for Staffs, Axes, Light Armor, Heavy Armor, etc.
  24. Yes, exactly... I mean the crapware like Bing Desktop Microsoft tries to sneak through Windows Update. There are also instances in which regular updates have been known to break development tools. It doesn't happen often, but I usually just delay installing these updates until after a fix is released.
  25. For what it's worth, the issue with the Start menu doesn't really surprise me that much. Explorer has a long history of forgetting folder settings going back to at least Vista. I think the same bug was in XP, but it's been too many years since I've used XP to make that claim with any authenticity.
