ACCEPTED Enhanced Distant Terrain (by SparrowPrince)
WilliamImm replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I still like HD Enhanced Terrain in phazer's shots, so not going to change my vote. -
Any updates on 1.9 patch bugs? Lip sync.
WilliamImm replied to carlos3lance's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
And you had to necropost a thread to say that... Well, at least using ENB's Vsync fixes the bug - must be something to do with Beth's VSync code at least. -

Ahhh... now I see. If you look at the terrain, you can see very slight changes in the noise. Not going to change my vote, however... last shot is still the best. -
SKYRIMLE Long Lost Smelters of Skyrim - Skyforge by Hyralux
WilliamImm replied to steveley's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I've looked at it. Lots and lots of what appear to be wild edits... this would be a real pain to clean. Still good idea. I've been using the smelter around Warmaiden (even though I am playing as a companion). -

... actually, I voted on the poll first before you made your post. -

Looks like it would take a real trained eye to spot the difference between the shots - except for the HD Enhanced Terrain one, that's a clear improvement. -
SIC does not appear to need the fixes that were needed for Beast Skeletons alone.

Good news: Author has finally wised up and released a fixed version of this mod without the corruption. Actually, in truth, I went in TES5Edit, fixed all instances of corruption (what exactly caused that?), and he posted links to my fixed versions (same for his other mods). However, he hasn't (yet) reuploaded the files with my fixed ESPs in place. I did update BOSS to point to the patches. ...but it's going to suck a lot of bandwidth away from my Dropbox, since he appears to just be pointing to it.

I've been using it too myself as part of testing the new Skyrim Revisited (which uses it in place of AOF mountains) - and my god it is beautiful . So detailed, and it's based on AOF's textures, so arleady the mountain textures are off to a good start. Looks better when using an ENB, though, so it might be best for a Parralax/ENB specific pack.

https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/31591/? You see, STEP has a very severe lack of mods that cover Solstheim (well, except for Serious HD, but it only covers the ash textures). This mod, along with Telvanni Reborn, attempt to fix the bleugh textures of the new landscape. And by the divines, from the screenshots, this looks REALLY good. In fact, it really looks like Skyrim Realistic Overhaul for Solstheim. (compare this screenshot to this one and you'll see what I'm talking about) Not as comprehensive yet as SRO - only covers landscape and furniture (it already completely overwrites Serious HD's Dragonborn textures, however). One conflict with Telvanni Reborn (darkelffurniture01.dds and normal)... but I'm liking it so far. I'm currently using the main file, as well as the optionals for the doors and the Thrisk woodcarvings. Important Note: Folded into Langely's Texture Workshop, as the Dragonborn DLC optional file. Testing for this will be done in the Workshop thread instead. Textures are 2048x2048 - so, for STEP, you may want to resize to 1024x1024 first.

Which mods break with Climates of Tamriel?
WilliamImm replied to Quitch's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Not really. Cliffworms has provided official compatbility patches in his mod. -

SKYRIMLE Hectrol CAVES DELUXE HighRes Retex (by Hectrol)

Well, now that I think about it, your current screenshots seem to be a good basis. I'm going to set up the poll now... unless someone objects. -
SKYRIMLE Hectrol CAVES DELUXE HighRes Retex (by Hectrol)
WilliamImm replied to thalastwon's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
From the current screenshots, I like Beauty of Skyrim the best. Hectrol seems to clash with the art style of the rest of the game. Beauty, to me, makes the cave look more like, well, a naturally formed cave. I'll set up the poll once michaelrw sets up more screenshots. -
SKYRIMLE Hectrol CAVES DELUXE HighRes Retex (by Hectrol)
WilliamImm replied to thalastwon's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Looking good. I can't set up the poll right now, about to head off. But, in the meantime, you could tackle the optional request of all three mods together using the same comparison locations. Seems the best order for having all three mods is Snow and Rocks first, then have Beauty overwrite it, and have Hectrol overwrite both. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2 -
SKYRIMLE Hectrol CAVES DELUXE HighRes Retex (by Hectrol)
WilliamImm replied to thalastwon's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Well, it should go fairly quickly. Helgen Keep has a cavern section about mid-way though, so if you have to start a new character, that is your best bet. Most dungeons anyway should have a cavern section, so it shouldn't be hard to make a comparision between the mods. Especially if you use Mod Organizer. -
SKYRIMLE Hectrol CAVES DELUXE HighRes Retex (by Hectrol)
WilliamImm replied to thalastwon's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Well, while vanilla friendliness is important for STEP, no definite conclusions can be made just by looking at the texture files. You'd have to actually view it in-game without running any post-processing mods. As long as it doesn't just out and loudly scream "I'M A MOD!" when viewed next to other vanilla or vanilla-friendly textures, this mod would be welcome in STEP. Looking at JudgementJay's screenshots, Hectrol does appear to be better.. but those seem to have ENB tacked on... not really what you want for STEP. Calling all mod testers... calling all mod testers... can you please provide comparison screenshots of this mod, Snow and Rocks Textures HD, and Beauty of Skyrim - Caves and Mines without using any ENB? Optionally, you can do screenshots of all three mods combined (Snow and Rocks first, then Beauty, then Hectrol), to see if the texutres look in place when in game. I will set up a public poll if screenshots are provided. -
Well, the author is uploading to TES Alliance per my suggestion, which is much more friendly for mega-mod projects than the Workshop ever was.

You know you've been playing Skyrim too much when... You play Max Pane 3 for the first time ever and mistake the left control key for crouch/cover (it's sprint, cover key is q)

DROPPED Telvanni Reborn (by Mystery Modder)
WilliamImm replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Except, the mentioned texture pack is a VERY mixed bag and we'd be better off using the texture packs from Mystery Modder that are of substantial quality. Which, so far, means Realistic Mushrooms, this mod, and Shrines Hd. The others we tested seemed to be slightly altered vanilla textures... not good enough. Also, said pack has quite a abundance of 4k textures.. discouraging me further from using the pack. -
SKYRIMLE Ultimate Spinning Arrows (by Palistov and Nofumasa)
WilliamImm posted a topic in Skyrim LE Mods
https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/37358/? Basically, this is to Archery - Spinning Arrows as Even Better Quest Objectives is to Better Quest Objectives... a updated revivial. Still has CQ&LA and Immersive Weapons compatibility, so that's something. -
ACCEPTED Superior Lore-Friendly Hair - HD textures (by skyrimaguas)
WilliamImm replied to FCqt's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
You may have noticed that there's a NMM/Bain installer for this mod as one of the main files. And it works perfectly... in Wrye Bash. Ebil's NMM installer does not appear to work at all, as it references non-existent directory names (ie: missing the dash between the number and the option). I have sent a fixed version of the NMM installer to the author (as well as many typo corrections in the BAIN installer). -
Actually, Elder Scrolls ebony is not made of wood, it's actually more akin to obsidian. Well, except for the fact that it's a lot more malleable, and a lot tougher. https://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Ebony
