DROPPED Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul (by Shurah)
Octopuss replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Creating compatibility patches is not modifying any original files. The guy is so full of himself and the idea that his precious mod is something special (which it's not) and should be protected by international laws he's going to explode soon. -
Why did you bother registering and posting this then?

DROPPED Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul (by Shurah)
Octopuss replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I looked at his mod's permissions and it doesn't seem like anything from there could imply that noone is allowed to create a compatibility patch. I bet such thing isn't even possible on any level, because then you'd have people accusing others of stealing their work by creating similar mods. It would almost seem like he doesn't know much about modding if he thinks that a damn compatibility patch could be taken this way. Even I know that. Also, language barrier is not an argument whatsoever. The guy is french, that's the heart of Europe, and virtually everyone speaks english today. Even Boris. -

Partial quote from ETaC's page: Now I am glad I never installed the mod. Whoever can think crap like this especially when it involves a reputable mod author deserves no respect or anything. -
ACCEPTED Relighting Skyrim (by NovakDalton and JawZ)

JawZ, is there going to be any new version of RS/ELE anytime soon, or not until you do the rewrite (as I understand it), which will likely take months? -
Merge Plugins weird UI behavior
Octopuss replied to Octopuss's question in Mator's Utilities Support (archived, read-only)
Allright, thanks. I was just curiously messing with the program for the first time, sort of randomly clicking around, seeing how things work. As for some of the questions: no translation (I literally only downloaded MP and ran it through MO), but I might be using "," as a decimal separator considering my system locale is czech (yes, seems like it's the case). -
Merge Plugins weird UI behavior
Octopuss posted a question in Mator's Utilities Support (archived, read-only)
So I blindly started MP for the first time (from MO of course), just to get an idea what it looks like. I've got a few questions and/or problems. 1) What's the point of the first window where I select plugins? The next step displays everything again, only in different window. 2) Clicking on the dictionary icon freezes the entire program and I have to kill the process. It might be doing something in the background, because it eats 10+% CPU, but there's no indication of anything anywhere. And I got tired after 10 minutes. 3) Detect integrations button seemingly freezes the program as well. After a I while I accidentally realized I had to alt tab elsewhere to make the information popup window (saying it couldn't find MO) appear. 4) The help is empty, and I mean literally. There's absolutely no text whatsover in any category (I see the tree but no text for any of the items). Thinking about 2) again, I've now tried the same thing I did in 3) and after alt tabbing, lo and behold, an error message! It says that 4.0 is not a valid floating point value. Also, whatever is the program doing after clicking on the button cannot be aborted, so I have to kill the process anyway. -
Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - pre 2.xx
Octopuss replied to sheson's question in DynDOLOD & xLODGen Support
I don't understand any of the technical stuff behind it, but how can one tree take 400MB when the SFO textures are like 5MB each? -
Now you've really pissed me off, and I am not joking. Yes it's just a stupid picture, but I've seen way too much of this crap from "dog people" over the years, ranging from dog owners trying to make a dog attack a cat or at least scare it, intentionally posting pictures of dead cats to various forums, to just generally saying how much they hate them. Seriously, f*ck off. You're not even remotely funny.

SKYRIMLE Crime Overhaul (by chinagreenelvis)
Octopuss replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Looks pretty good, but the amount of all kinds of changes sounds like conflict hell. -
Fair enough.

Don't give him funny ideas. He doesn't seem to be entirely right in the head as it is :P

Working on an update for WATER, aren't you SP?...

My personality is not about complaining about everything. I suggest you both (all) stop it right there.

SKYRIMLE Realistic HD Mushrooms (by Halk_Hogan_PL)
Octopuss replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
This mod is now (well, apparently has been for months) abandoned. Like I posted in another thread, I sent the guy a message at the beginning of october, asking what the state of his unfinished mods were, didn't get a reply, and after trying again today he wrote "I'm sorry but I do not plan to do anything to Skyrim. Instead, I invite you to modifications to Fallout 4 (release soon) and The Witcher 3". What a waste. No I will have to dig the old replacer mod from somewhere. I think Gamwich has something in his farmouses mod. -
SKYRIMLE Realistic HD Ingots (by Halk_Hogan_PL)
Octopuss replied to kryptopyr's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
It's the authors right to do whatever they please, but I still find it pretty annoying and in a way maybe even insultive to the users to abandon their work without a single word after promising updates for a long time. I sent the guy a message at the beginning of october, asking what the state of his unfinished mods were, didn't get a reply, and after trying again today he wrote "I'm sorry but I do not plan to do anything to Skyrim. Instead, I invite you to modifications to Fallout 4 (release soon) and The Witcher 3". I'm pretty pissed off, because this basically makes his ore mod (which is completed as far as I know) useless, considering the the ores wont't match the ingots colours. -

Pardon me for having an opinion...

Looking at spINI, it changes the FOV to some really weird numbers. How does that work, and where are the values (like 70,59 or something) coming from?
-
I think I identified the problem. The process ONLY works when the program is run from within MO, otherwise nothing happens.
-
I have Backup Movement Speed Reduction and it seems to work just fine. I'm just puzzled why people feel the urge to do the same thing over and over. It's fine for textures, because styles are different, but something as simple as lowering values for strafe speed or whatever, that just doesn't make sense to do again.
-
Oh one more thing. The spinify button should probably not be next to the presets. It looks confusing. If it's supposed to refresh the inis to default state and should be used before selecting a preset, it should be before those. Also when I click the button, it says to accept the preset. But how and where? I don't understand what is the message trying to tell me, and I suspect I won't be alone.
-
So I ran the program and it started complaining about all sorts of inis missing. That took quite a while. Could you possibly make it so that you can actually close it somehow instead of having to wait until all the error messages go away? I thought it would automatically pick the inis from the usual locations when not run from within MO, but apparently not. Anyway, I changed a few settings, clicked save, and nothing happened. It looked as if it saved the files, but the ones in documents folder remained the same. What gives? Also, is there any documentation what settings changes exactly what in the inis? Some of there I never heard of. It also took me a while you have to tick a checkbox for some text to appear. A tooltip when mousing over it would be better, I think.
