I got overcareful with age, I don't even use beta BIOSes and beta drivers anymore... :P I'll take my time with this. I mean Windows 7 works perfectly fine for me, and it will be like, a year or two before we even get any Dx12 games, so the urge to upgrade is pretty low.

Oh yeah, I guess it's the same stupid thing that was mushed into my face when I tried Windows 8.1 for about 10 minutes about a year ago or so. I hope this can be easily worked around by automated setup with an answer file. After all I read I will wait at least half a year before giving 10 a shot. Apparently it has to mature a lot. I heard some sort of a bigger update is supposed to come in a month or so, and a really big one some time in autumn. Rushed development anyone? I said it.

What is this Microsoft account I see mentioned once in a while? I hope I don't need to register an account in one of their obscure services in order to be able to use Windows 10?

Aren't you a bit paranoid? Impression means nothing. You probably read too many conspiration theories about Microsoft lately. Do you have any clear evidence the system is spying on you? Also, "all your information" is a bit, to put it bluntly, laughable.

I don't even understand how can people have so many mods they are hitting the limit. I'd say my game is quite modded, and I still am at 150-160 plugins. I bet 90% of people who are in the 250ish range don't even know what mods they have installed, and simply downloaded every single piece of junk they could find.

I don't understand why some of the obvious ones weren't put in the USKP. I mean troll and slaughterfish, really? This looks like a must have mod.

Only where the upscale is obvious. You guys really don't see it? Or you don't want to see it? Just open the vanilla texture in a viewer, upscale it to twice the size, then open the new one in another window, and switch between them a few times. If you still can't see the base is the same blurry mess then I don't know. What I'm saying is that the BASE for the whole work is upscaled vanilla texture and then stuff is piled up on top of that. That might look perfectly fine (or even great) to some, but not to me. I'm just voicing my opinion here.

I don't like this. Doesn't look like skin at all. Whatever filter the texture was dragged through it was, the result looks like... rough plastic or something. No wait, like rough leather. That's what happens when you simply upscale the vanilla textures as a base for your work. No matter how much work you do on it afterwards (and he probably did a lot), you still have to hide the blurriness somehow. Well this is it. I am probably the extreme minority here, but I don't like any of his retextures for this very reason.

Guess it's time to ask Gamwich to expand on the mod then The texture is horrible. I don't even understand how they achieved to make it look that bad.

Pretty huge one, and I'm not even exaggerating. I have no idea where they pulled so many changes from in such short period of time.

Oh, that sounds great. XCOM1 is moddable, but nowhere near easily, it seems.

How do you mean old and not supported? This mod simply changes some text in the game, nothing else.

I don't like the cartoon graphics too much, I am more of a realistic looking stuff guy. I did like the first XCOM until I got bored, though (pretty quickly unfortunately, some 80 hours).

What is that supposed to bring them? The system is supposed to last a few years just like Windows 7. The people who would be interested in buying a PC with Windows 10 or just the system alone would do so anyway. Cutting development by 3-4 months for a project of this size and complexity, no way that's going to end up well. I am sure it involves cutting features out, and more importantly, there will be much less room for feedback that can bring much needed changes. Supposedly, they listened a lot this time around, and lots of features were tweaked according to people. Cutting this by months significantly lowers the amount of good and important changes that could be made. If I had doubts before, now I am decided to wait at least half a year before even thinking about changing.

Anything that comes from an overpriced brand and is unupgradable is waste of time and money. It's like a computer from say, Dell. I'd rather buy parts second hand and build a gaming PC myself.

Who gives a crap about quality when you think you can get 0,1% better sales if you release it when children are back in school (how that is supposed to make something sell better is beyond me). Hm, possibly. But I would hardly call it irreversible damage. That's just blowing things out of proportions. I could fix it with TES5Edit in under 5 minutes (most of which would be loading the plugins and loading+saving the game).

I don't understand how a simple game setting can be harmful in any way. The moment you uninstall the mod(s), the values are reset to default. There are no scripts or anything. Either it's me or the author who is missing something. edit: Incompatible with ETaC = instant pass.

I have recently noticed the rain splashes... by accident. It's pretty cool even if not very noticeable.

Only for relatively short period of time from what I heard. Definitely not indefinitely. I hope it won't turn out the way people fear it would.
