Rename the launcher to something else and copy Fallout4.exe and rename the copy the name of the launcher.

As far as I can tell, the rules for Skyrim are the same as for Fallout 4. So order doesn't matter as long as each setting is in the correct location. The main thing this mod does is rearrange the inis in a logical manner. Other than that, I removed a bunch of bogus settings in the templates that were leftovers from previous games that are no longer valid. This prevents you from altering a setting that doesn't do anything. Verifying Steam cache will fix the behavior you describe.

After rushing to get a day 1 release on this, I'm taking a nap.

FALLOUT4 Fallout 4 Default Values for All Valid INI Settings
DoubleYou posted a topic in INI Tweaking
Fallout 4 Default Values for All Valid INI Settings If it's not here, the tweak is most likely bogus, if it follows the same pattern as in previous games. Also note that there is a FalloutCustom.ini that is believed to function the same way SkyrimCustom.ini did in Skyrim. Plugin INIs appear to behave the same as well in initial testing. The in-game settings menu "default" values are different from these (Bethesda has given three different definitions of default in Fallout 4, all contradicting each other. I have settled for the same definition used in Skyrim, i.e., the value used when the setting is not explicitly stated in the INI files.) Do NOT use these as your INI files. This is for reference only at this point. Fallout.ini FalloutPrefs.ini -

That's the idea. I want fINIp 4 to be released tomorrow.

Mod Source: fINIp 4 (Fallout INI Project 4) by DoubleYou fINIp 4 fINIp 4 (Fallout INI Project 4) is an attempt to restore decency to the Fallout 4 INI configuration files. Sadly, Bethesda screwed up its INIs. You would think that their INI creation method via the Fallout Launcher would be completely error free, as how could they mess up what essentially is a simple text file? but it isn't. They are chock full of uh-ah-choo! sneeze-worthy lines. Enter fINIp 4. We spinned the files that Fallout 3 uses to create your presets, twirled them into a sensible order, and whirled away most of the errors. This removes a large portion of the obsolete and redundant lines that the Fallout Launcher erroneously applies to the INI files. Installation: Download the main file.Run the installer.Follow the on-screen instructions.Read any warnings carefully!Once the installer has completed, the Fallout Launcher will automatically run to generate your new INI files.Once this is done, please add any and all desired tweaks, as these are NOT tweaked outside of default tweaks. This mod cleans up the INI creation process. It doesn't add tweaks. Uninstallation: Replace your Fallout4.ini and FalloutPrefs4.ini files with the backups you should have made according to the warnings in installation and go to step 3. If you neglected to heed my warnings, verify integrity of game cache and go to step 2.Run the Fallout Launcher and select your preset.Eat salt and vinegar chips.

I just figured I would note that I added the Fallout 4 prefix for use in the Mods and Packs forums.

SKYRIMLE Insignificant Object Remover (by akkalat85)
DoubleYou replied to alt3rn1ty's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
There are pebbles in the Rift??? I really don't remember seeing them. I'd have to find them to see. I haven't been inside a modded Skyrim for awhile with all my INI testing. -
Maybe Fallout 4 will be made in such a way that you don't need a mod manager. Just drop the files in a mods folder and forget about it. Except I doubt Bethesda would be that kind.

I've been using Decrease Those Plants for a long time, and it is a must for me. No issues with SFO. Can't say about Verdant. -
SKYRIMLE Skyrim.exe - The Way It Should Have Been by Kahenraz
DoubleYou replied to Kahenraz's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
It seems the actual download file got deleted, so I'm removing this from my Utilities Pack. -
The tweak works. I just think I remember it stop working at some point. It'll work for a while at least. Using the other INI methods won't help.

The Configurator doesn't have that problem. There are relatively few bugs with the Configurator. I prefer editing the file directly, as you say, but some may not. To each their own. I intend to code my own tool eventually. I'm learning Python so that it can be a MO plugin (it won't be like the configurator -- I'm thinking more performance slider with tweaks). The fov tweaks, I think, can get changed in some quests I think. I think that they also only work on a new save. I just use the console fov # to change fov at will.

I just discovered that at least one INI tweak will not take effect unless used on a new game: bDisableAutoVanityMode in [Camera]. Now if we could look inside the save file and find out what all tweaks this might affect somehow, that would be most useful. What that does show, however, is that some settings that I previously thought did nothing have a slight chance of doing something on a new game.

Yakuza Shadows - Optimized Shadow Presets for ANY PC
DoubleYou replied to Yakuza's topic in INI Tweaking
This is the first time I've heard that increasing fInteriorShadowDistance can cause crashes. I'll have to look into that. What specific resolutions were you referring to, btw? Or do you mean once your rig is at 1 fps that it will crash, which I realize, and is to be said about any setting that affects performance on a potentially infinite scale. -
Yakuza Shadows - Optimized Shadow Presets for ANY PC
DoubleYou replied to Yakuza's topic in INI Tweaking
I think you need to have another look at fInteriorShadowDistance. It acts quite different from fShadowDistance, and there is little benefit to reducing it. -
Then you must have SkyrimPrefs.ini set to read-only.
