bug Bug: May bork part of the tutorial.
TechAngel85 replied to masternetra's topic in Step No Man's Sky Guide
BuildableOnPlanet was set to false for one of the wood floor pieces. It should have been true. That allows you to build on the planet and outside a base radius. The new Guide was just published. -

TechAngel85 replied to masternetra's topic in Step No Man's Sky Guide
Okay. I think I found the issue. Looks like it was only buildable within the planet base radius, but not on the planet outside of the base radius. I just hoped in the game to confirm and wood floors are working after the change. I'll have a new version up later today or tomorrow. There are already a few changes I've completed beyond this fix. -

All those changes are merged from GBase. I'll take a look at it to see if anything stands out. -
Can't find the Mod Organizer Profiles folder
TechAngel85 replied to Ra1v1n's question in Mod Organizer Support
Just grabbing answer so it can be marked solved. -
Awesome sauce! As for themes, will it simply pick up the Windows theme? My Win10 "theme" is basically it's built-in dark mode so any app that will pick up system theme has just worked well out-of-the-box without having to keep up with themes for all the different programs to make them dark. Thinking about it, MO has been one of the few that I've had to change to a dark theme.

Within the LOD instructions on the Step Guide, it has you enable and disable mods. Make sure those mods are disabled after running through the LOD section. If they're not disable for gameplay, they can cause issues. So ensure they are disabled before you rerun that section of the Guide.

Yeah, honestly I'm not sure. The load order looks okay and if there is nothing overwriting RWT meshes, then I'm at a bit of a loss. Are there any mods conflicting with RWT meshes? From that console, DynDOLOD was the last to touch it. If you haven't already, I would rerun DynDOLOD. You might just had a bad run...happens sometimes. Before that, make sure you've unchecked the TEMP files from the LOD section of the Guide.

Restoring a STEP modding setup on a new computer
TechAngel85 replied to robmtl's topic in Step Skyrim SE Guide
I've never actually restored from a backup like that, but if you have all the mods, profile folder, and plugins.txt backed up from your previous install, it should just all go right back to the way it was when everything is restored. If it's not, then I would just suggest redoing the Guide. You can copy your mods from your backup to your new mods folder to prevent you from having to redownload them. You'll just have to "Refresh All Mods" from the menu in MO after you copy and paste mod folders into the new install. -
Bashed Patch isn't needed unless you add additional mods that are altering leveled lists. Same thing with the merge patch; not needed unless you need to merge mods for some reason. The Step CR Patch handles what the Bashed Patch used to and takes care of all conflicted within the mod list.

You don't have to reinstall from scratch. I would recommend just scanning through the mod list; comparing it to what you have in MO and making changes as you go.

ACCEPTED Lanterns of Skyrim SE - MCM version (by MannyGT/ToosTruus)
TechAngel85 replied to TechAngel85's topic in Skyrim SE Mods
Yes, LoS is included in the L&W Patch, but it's just the light reference to change the light color. Easily removed.- 6 replies

It's mostly likely connected to weather/lighting/ENB. For example, if it only happens during certain weather, then an issue with your weather mod or something weather related.

Optional Customizations - BethINI Changes & Questions
TechAngel85 replied to Tykune's topic in Step Skyrim SE Guide
You can leave them all on their defaults and not worry about the Snow settings. Yours are fine. -
This is common stuff that shouldn't have to be noted on every mod so I've added this line to the top of the mod list section with the rest of the bullet points: When there is a choice between ESL and ESP, always choose ESL unless otherwise noted.
-
Just leave it at default.

This has already been thoroughly discussed on the mod's topic: Please remember to search before posting.

This is a know bug with Armor and Clothing Extension that has yet to be fixed: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/19002?tab=bugs (page 2, Issue with translation files). The workaround is to: unpack the bsa and change the translation file name from "Expansion" to "Extension". The MCM still works fine, it's just the text that is off as the coding variable is being revealed.

ImprovedCLosefacedHelmets_WACCF.esp obsolete
TechAngel85 replied to Tykune's topic in Step Skyrim SE Guide
I've updated the instructions for this mod to download the individual files, considering the FOMOD is not kept as up-to-date as they are. -

ACCEPTED Lanterns of Skyrim SE - MCM version (by MannyGT/ToosTruus)
TechAngel85 replied to TechAngel85's topic in Skyrim SE Mods
There aren't any patches for those mods. I've never seen any issues, though I turn off the "Lanterns along roads" because its just not realistic.- 6 replies

STEP: 1.0.0 - The Choice is Yours (Book Covers Skyrim Patch)
TechAngel85 replied to Tykune's topic in Step Skyrim SE Guide
When it comes to patches, 99% of the time, if you're not instructed to install it, then don't. Most of the mod patches are covered by the Step Patches. -
A few issues I ran into installing the LE 3.0 guide
TechAngel85 replied to Dave0523's topic in Step Skyrim LE Guide
Fixed! Thanks for the reports! Call out to Smaller Vanilla Cursors is that it's user preference which options to install. I've added a short note stating that. Wow...I had never noticed that! Thanks for pointing this out! I've updated the instructions for a proper installation. You're correct. Simply unselect everything that is auto-selected within those two sections. -
Step 1.0.0 - Missing Master - Butterflies Unchained
TechAngel85 replied to walterAgator's topic in Step Skyrim SE Guide
Sorry about that and got it fixed. Z and I got some wires crossed during dev and some of mods ended up in moving and causing some rework. Looks like several missed our review but this should be about the last of them. *crosses fingers* -
Can I integrate Open Cities Skyrim - SSE?
TechAngel85 replied to cybtrash's topic in Step Skyrim SE Guide
It's totally possible as long as you mind your mod conflicts and install patches. If you haven't every patched Open Cities, just remember that conflicting assets need to flip worldspaces (from city to tamriel) and their position data needs to be carried forward or fixed for the new world space. Patching Open Cities is more akin to mod building than patching. Especially if a patch doesn't exist for a mod that adds in new content to a cities. For those situations, you'll likely have to use the CK. -
ACCEPTED Lanterns of Skyrim SE - MCM version (by MannyGT/ToosTruus)
TechAngel85 replied to TechAngel85's topic in Skyrim SE Mods
MCM version fits much better into Skyrim stylistically and fits the mandate better. It's also a simpler mod that just works and is easier to support. The functionality is basically the same between the two. However, LoS II models and textures don't fix the mandate nearly as well as the older MCM version...that still works perfectly well. Remember that Step Guide provide an enhanced vanilla experience, and LoS II feels like it was built more for the "Noble Skyrim" style.- 6 replies
