These look so good I've forgotten what vanilla looked like. After checking some pics it looks like Ren's are quite close to vanilla, just enhanced color/texture and subtly different alternate versions. I think both choices are lore friendly enough to leave it up to the user to decide when installing.

Thanks for tallying my vote Tech, I feel like family now :-) As for Ren's Shrines, they look so good I've forgotten what vanilla looked like. After checking some pics it looks like Ren's are quite close to vanilla, just enhanced color/texture and subtly different alternate versions. I'd vote for those too.

Wouldn't "lore-friendly" glass windows look more like the glass armor in the game? I'm not suggesting the window panes would be of armor quality or desugn, but likely influenced by the armorers techniques and possibly including some of the same materials. Regardless, I think Rustic Windows are a marked improvement to both vanilla & Visible Windows. I prefer the look, and I think it would be a good addition to Extended &/or Packs, and its what I will personally use. Visible may still be the best choice for Core as it little different from vanilla. Gamwich is doing great work, these windows are great as are the textures he's done for Gemling Queen Jewelry. ACCEPTED Static Mesh Improvement Mod - SMIM (by Brumbek)
redirishlord replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Does the enboost feature help in that regard? It seems to help my 2gb quite a bit, could it level the graphical playing field with regard to VRAM limits? Or do I misunderstand what it can do? I do alright with 2gb & 2k textures, just want my 1gb friends to get the most out of their Skyrim, maybe compromise isn't as necessary in light of recent advances? More on topic, does the group have opinions on the "half-sized option"? I wonder if I'm spending resources on something I ultimately won't see benefit from? In my case I play on a 22 inch monitor not something larger. I feel like 2k textures are a noticeable improvement from 1k, but I'm not as sure about SMIM half/full size options. -
Book Covers Skyrim - Lost Library
redirishlord replied to DanielCoffey's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Calixto's Curiousities in Windhelm for the rare &/or odd. Mage's of the Jarl's courts have personal/semi-public libraires (Whiterun is definitely on the beaten path, also Riften & Windhelm if memory serves, Markarth has a dwemer museum which would be natural for books on that subject). You might hand place alchemical tomes in the various alchemy shops (active experimentation occurs in Markath & Riften shops). Halted Stream camp's dungeon has bookshelves (contains the Transmute Ore spellbook and other vannilla books). IIRC the denizen of the barrow near Ivarstead has a small collection. Your work looks excellent and I am very excited about this mod, keep up the good work this will be very popular indeed. -
Recommendation for Follower
redirishlord replied to thaiusmle's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Anduniel and Vilja definitely have their own follower functions separate from AFT or EFF, not sure re- Iningo. I mentioned those as they have great voice content. Vilja also has dialog with vanilla followers, so you could use EFF to bring along Lydia for example, and Vilja will occasionally speak directly with her. -

Inigo and Vilja have great voice work, as does Anduniel, which makes for immersive gameplay. Both Anduniel and Vilja have their own quest content, not sure about Inigo. I recommend all three, get a home base so your not moving a small army across Skyrim. Disclaimer: I'm an AFT user, but EFF should give you a similar experience if I understand correctly. -
ACCEPTED White Phial Replacer (by Saerileth)
redirishlord replied to phryxolydian's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
If I do then I vote yes on all of Saerileth's work to date, it is excellent and lore friendly enough IMHO to be placed in Core. -

Automatic Variants patcher settings for MO
redirishlord replied to redirishlord's question in Mod Organizer Support
SRLE gave skins to enable / disable and I followed that. My primary concern is whether selecting exclusive zones would cause missing texture or CTD, and if I should have the patcher move the textures (default) or not (possibly appropriate for "mod managers") or if I should be doing that my self (which was DoubleYou's suggestion if I understand correctly) and if moving them myself - where to? -
Automatic Variants patcher settings for MO
redirishlord replied to redirishlord's question in Mod Organizer Support
Thanks for the tip, but I'm still confused. Do you know if I should be checking the box (inside the AV patcher) to use the base texture as a variant? checking the box to relocate the files (the AV pop up description seems to allude to "no" for MO, but doesn't say so directly)? selecting the drop down for no zones/zones okay/exclusive zones? As for "reinstalling", I have the texture packages as mods in the left pane of MO and "checked" making them active/installed. Should I be using Windows to navigate my MO diretories and relocating these textures somewhere (like from the overwrite directory to my "overwrite mod" folder or to the original texture mod folder within MO, or are you referring to moving files within the <skyrimdata> folder)? Sorry for my confusion, my brain may be full as I am a first time MO user just switching over from BAIN. -
I'm creating an Automatic Variants skyproc patch from within Mod Organizer, but I'm not sure the appropriate settings to select in the patcher, specifically; use base as variant, move files, exclusive zones. I have encountered missing textures on horses in the Helgen intro, but am not sure which setting is the culprit. Anyone have experience with this and insight into which I should select?

pack A Real Explorer's Guide to Skyrim
redirishlord replied to CJ2311's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
Well these days I just wrestle with the switch over to MO, no actual playing since before the holiday. I'll take a look at LAL, and apparently I need to shoehorn in another dungeon. Oh, and my SC guildmates will stage an intervention if I don't get some stick time in on the dogfighting alpha. tl;dr blah blah first world problems blah blah * Edit: thanks for the tips btw, I've slipped Ogmunds into my load order, and LAL as well but I'm leaving that inactive until I can successfully launch. AV is driving me crazy with an intermittent missing horse texture and then I run into a persistent CTD during my carriage ride, not sure who the culprit is for that. -
pack A Real Explorer's Guide to Skyrim

Will do. Wrestling with Automatic Variants at the moment and then off to my execution & subsequent escape from the Legion. I'll make an effort to begin my college work soonest (trying to be strong and not fall down the Star Citizen playable alpha rabbit hole, yet). -

I used WCI before switching to ICoW, its been awhile and memory is failing me a bit with regard to it. I think there were some AI pathing issues and a few other minor things (mostly related to the Archmage's quarters, NPCs would hike through there to get ot the cafeteria or some such), nothing deal breaking but ICoW seemed of greater interest and I droppped WCI in favor of it. I assume the old issues have been resolved, and if both mods play nice with each other I'll have to find room for WCI. * Looks like WCI is currently patched for ICoW 2.0, SkullMonkey has the older version of Grantyboys mod available as an optional download temporarily until he updates his patch. In other news, my modding addiction is confrimed - I have downloaded and am now installing WCI (and temp downgrading ICoW) for my maiden (as in first, no sex change planned) MO playthrough. -
I just ran into that issue. The Star Citizen installer doesn't like the newer version of Visual C++ (it didn't like seeing a newer than 2010 version for whatever reason). I uninstalled the 2013 redistributable to allow an SC update (Arena Commander alpha dogfighting module, woot-woot pew-pew!), and then couldn't launch LOOT. I've reinstalled the 2013 Visual C++ through the LOOT installer (and LOOT itself of course), hopefully Star Citizen will still play properly (I'll post up there for tech support if it doesn't, but they're going to be busy inundated with Arena Commander bug reports and other communications for awhile, such bravado launching a pre-alpha module on a title with this large a following). * sorry for the semi-off topic, further SC interest can be routed to the Banter Inn, I've even got a thread there answering basic questions with helpful links.

Can't wait, thanks for doing this, I'm getting used to MO (former BAIN user) now & looking forward to working with DDSOpt next.

SKYRIMLE LOOT v0.5.0 Beta 15 & MO
redirishlord replied to Kuldebar's question in Mod Organizer Support
I'm a new MO user * but I think this is a feature, not a bug. I like that my unchecked plugins (right pane) get sorted and such, if I want to remove them from consideration I can uncheck in the left pane. * was there supposed to be cake, I missed it? Having used/advocated BAIN for so long I really expected cake when I switched over.- 76 replies

SKYRIMLE EWI's Galaxy for Skyrim by ewi65

Very nice, and with two moons to keep me company I don't miss the Milky Way at all. -
I find the STEP runes somewhat difficult to see, the V1 runes are nice improvement, the V2 show promise but seem a much currently. I'm going to give V1 a go.

ACCEPTED White Phial Replacer (by Saerileth)
redirishlord replied to phryxolydian's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I believe the "artistic license" is based on Auriel's Bow and similar assets from DLC (see Nexus description & or author's forum posts), so despite being a rework of the original it is (in a sense) lore friendly. I second the vote for Core (not that I have voting power). -
I think this is great, adds a lot by doing a little. Funny anecdote, I returned to Aventus' house after "meeting" Grelod the Kind and was greated by a pumpkin on the porch, didn't realize it was a holiday (especially that one), perfect.

I'm pretty sure the Darkwater bathers are vanilla FWIW.

SKYRIMLE Improved Gemstone Dragon Claws by DMagnus

I gotta go with Saerileth's Gemling Queen Claws. Pairs very nicely with her excellent jewelry. Have you seen her White Phial replacer?
