  1. I've had good results with Diablotherium, I think EssArrBee uses Bueno's Enhanced Shaders. I would recommend Ewi's E Enb, but last I checked it wasn't compatible with Nevada Skies (of course if you don't use non-vanilla weather that's not a problem).
  2. I wish I had the knowledge base to give that due consideration. I'm currently using the STEP reccomemnded RFYL & WVA and Deadly Dragons (for the feature I mention) with DCO (actually the full Epic Gameplay Overhaul). The potential for script sorcery must be astronomical, I assume the Nine will protect me.
  3. I'll grab the Willow update & new Vault 22 Flora for a new playthrough, assuming I can tear myself away from my new Skyrim playthrough. Good news (if you're a silver lining type) is that Star Citizen's dogfighting alpha will be a scaled roll-out, so all my gaming time won't be consumed by flight sim.
  4. Might be worth considering Deadly Dragons with only the make important/quest giving npcs protected from dragon attacks option a reccommendation for STEP inclusion. This would cause non-combatant npcs to flee, and the important ones to survive (whether the retreat indoors or not).
  5. Interesting, well I'll watch for proper scripted behavior with the two scripted STEP mods (RFYL, WVA) and use the Deadly Dragons protect option just in case (and keep the Dragon stat boost &/or Assault features in reserve).
  6. I think this particular occurrence is outside the expected scope of the mod (quoting it's description page) "A small mod that makes citizens in a village or city run indoors during a dragon attack." If the attack in question occurred outside a town I wouldn't expect the script to activate. FWIW if you need a solution for important (quest related) npcs surviving dragon attacks, you might consider Deadly Dragons. You can use its MCM to make important npcs essential (and set all other features to Vanilla). This doesn't help with understanding RFYL conflicts/issues of course.
  7. The Sleeping Giant looks great, firepit centrally located with spitted meats. Smoke from STEP HD fire & candles (maybe ELFX/ELE/Serenity contributing to the atmo). I'd love to see something similar in the big city, I'll be heading to Whiterun & Windhelm soon.
  8. I just downloaded ETaC today, and I love it. I was looking for a Riverwood smelter, and obviously exceeded the mission parameter, but I'm thrilled with the result. The number of files/patches was a bit of a concern initially, but the pdf install guide made it straight forward and easy to understand. All things considered, definitely worthwhile, the additions really feel like they belong.
  9. You definitely need a better mod manager than NMM. I use Wrye/BAIN, STEP recommends Mod Organizer, both offer must have features that NMM does not, the ability to change textures on the fly and files conflict indication being just two. You may find BAIN more challenging to use, but there is plenty of documentaation for MO here.
  10. Left hand weapon (with DSR mesh pack installed) equipped and sheathed? Did you run the DSR skyproc patcher & activate the DSR patch in your load order? The mod is great for all manner of immersion btw, having shields appear not only on your back but on the backs of npcs is very nice.
  11. I have found 360 controllers for PC to be problematic, my solution was to pair a keyboard replacer (Razer Nostromo) with a trackball mouse. Same feel as the controller (thumb movement and buttons) but PC friendly keybinding. Just a thought.
  12. Even dudes love 'em. The rings (happy to have left hand as well) add some flare to my battle mage's spellcasting, and when the Holidays (from that Wet & Cold mod) come around the amulets & necklaces should make great gifts for my followers.
  13. Outstanding report Keith, that is very pertinent info for me and I will set to false (16gb RAM) as I apparently haven't been benefitting from true. "The more you know". <insert jingle here>
  14. Does the unofficial patch alter the shield+weapon plaques/displays in a way that would prevent me using them? I'm trying to display the local guard shield (ie. falkreath shield in lakeview with scimitars crossed behind) and weapons but am unable to select the activator after building the display house upgrades. I thought this might be HF specific, but I'm encountering it in Hjerim as well.
  15. I haven't noticed a "chokepoint" issue either, but I just downloaded the "fireball" version so I can immersively clear it if it occurs.
  16. It's a matter of preference, I enjoy this mod without the spell, no negative issues experienced. I also like the physics damage mod so I have to think twice about sprinting in dark bone-filled caves (in RL the danger would be from falling and impaling one's self on antlers rather than kicking them into a wall and suffering on the bounce but close enough). The "dragon corpse stalking" issue is a vanilla thing, in the rare event I've encountered it markfordelete was a simple enough solution (I don't need a "spell" for a one time fix, like that annoying deck railing on the Lakeview house).
  17. The enormous step down in features and fidelity from a modded SKyrim prevents me from enjoying ESO. What woudl work for me would be a neverwinter-nights-style private server-based capable TES game. Combine old school pen-n-paper features with modded TES fidelity into a STEP (or other) group game night. Campaign packs could be hosted (anyone remember Against the Giants?). Just throwing around hypotheticals here, but the NWN style would be my preference over MMO for a TES experience.
  18. Outstanding find, looks to be very immersive, I'm off to download it now.
  19. Good to know, I have 0.8.1 installed (0.8.2 archived), I guess I'll hold off on updating and keep my eyes open for npcs without light sources (Ralof in Helgen notwithstanding).
  20. Question for thomaal & oqhansoloqo; which version(s) were you using? 0.8.1 seemed to be working well, another thought, where did you place it in your load order?
  21. "Stay thirsty my friend." Does Dos Equis come in O+ ? Do vampires get heartburn from mismatched blood types?
  22. I've been running Deadly Dragons just for the NPC protection, with RFYL & WVA (& wet-n-cold, etc) and its been fine so far, but I have yet to enter Solitude with this set up.
  23. I had the same feeling regarding EBT criticisms, invariably the mod order containing Frostfall and SIC would get mentioned and I'd involuntarily facepalm & say "well, there's yur problem". At least the memory patch 3.0 (thanks sheson) seems to have alleviated alot of the overload issues, still pays to be strategic with your resources (I chose to cut weight by removing the frostfall/hunterborn/realistic needs etc & save my hardcore survival for FallouNV, it all about choices, and I'd miss blood & locational damage too much in Skyrim).
  24. "Yes, disabling WVA unclogged the NPC's. As I approached the gate to Solitude a rather large crowd clumped out of town (Travellers of Skyrim, Populated Cities...Roads NPC's)" This makes me wonder if there is a single culprit here, or if it's the shear number of npcs/scripts/etc that have to be managed in this scenario. If all of the above were running in the initial scenario with the Winking Skeeveer traffic jam, seems difficult to pin it on WVA. Has testing been done on When Vampires Attack without other mods adding to the load? Seems the only way to get proper data on its stability (just a thought, and no I'm not volunteering, I finally have a happy Wrye/BAIN install & I'm not looking to poke it with a stick).
  25. If it weren't for the merge script, I'd have 100 more than you. As for Epic Gameplay Overhaul, the civil war piece seems prone to trouble (which he is working on) but dragons work well for me (as far as I've seen, not having levelled past 30-ish), and the important info overhaul is a visual version of exhaustion's audio queues. I'm not sure about the camera tweaks in CDO. Anyway, I believe you can install the various modules separately if you want to avoid CWO's issues, just read the directions (obviously).
