Interesting, I'll download and check it out. Thanks for the tip, I managed to miss it.

Occasional Loadscreen Hangups Preceeding CTDs
redirishlord replied to Muladhara86's question in General Skyrim LE Support
FWIW I've been doing similar troubleshooting myself. I notice by using the script latency tool in Convenient Horses that my script lag was averaging near 100ms (apparently 50 is desired and 100+ is bad). When attempting to load an interior location (such as the Sleeping Giant Inn in an ETaC Riverwood) the reported lag would spike to 300+ Perhaps too many scripts are your downfall, seemed to be mine? Checking through the tool in CH's MCM is a cheaper fix than upgrading your pc ;-) Assuming you can live without some of your scripted mods. -
This. The problem is finding it, I don't think it currently exists. An elegant solution that fixes vanilla issues & is fully compatible with vanilla armors like Better Males is what's needed for STEP inclusion. I use UNP and various additions to it, but I wouldn't suggest it for STEP. It seems to have the most armor support, but it doesn't satisfy the mandate, it's still a radical change requiring non-vanilla gear (even if there are remakes of vanilla gear available they are still non-standard additions with all the compatibility issues that go with that). We don't want to become the STEP-UNP Forum (although there could be packs designed around the best suported body mods, but that's a whole other topic).

Interesting, I'll try that additional error check and see what I get. I'm going to rebuild my patches by load order (earliest, early, late, latest) to be more similar to my old BUM rules but based on my new LOOT sort. I'm going to mark this as solved as the groups suggestions and ongoing trouble shooting have me able to at least play the game now (and prove that the switch to MO was in no way at fault). My compulsive modding is the enemy of stability, maybe I should award myself a chip every week I can go without adding a new mod?

I prefer Height Adjusted Races, and use the Morrowind Lore selection. This mods heights don't seem as lore friendly, for example Nords and Orcs at 1.07 puts them near Cathay-raght size.

Outstanding, thanks for the confirmation on that. Things seem to be reasonably stable at this point. I dropped a few texture type mods without plugins, and I dropped the 4.25 alpha of Equipment Overhaul for the more stable / less scripted 3.13 also set the frequency for EBT from 2.5 to 5 seconds. I'm worried I'll miss SIC + HLE, but something had to give I guess. Update: Looks like SMIM update 1.72 has a siingle esp for all options, so the merging is no longer an issue.

So I've recently switched from Wrye BAIN to Mod Organizer, added a few new mods to my install, made new merged patches & now I'm getting frequent CTDs?I was able to play for 4 or more hours straight with my Wrye setup & was starting to think that CTDs were a thing of the past. I switched to MO for the additional features, and that happeded to coincide with getting ahold of the merge script for TES5Edit and making several merged patches. I also discovered STEP REGS guide and added a few (not all) mods from that and some others. I don't think either MO or REGS are to blame (obviously) but rather the totality of my modding must be the culprit. For background consider the following; My LOOT plugin order; My TES5Edit merge script 1.65 details; If anyone has any constructive ideas on how to improve my stability I sure would appreciate them. I was freezing when trying to enter Riverwood buildings or attempting to save in Riverwood before removing SIC. Now I'm getting CTD in a new game on the way to Riverwood. I'll continue troubleshooting on my own, but I'm kinda tearing my hair out by now (and I can't afford to loose much hair btw).

I assume STEP is looking for something near a consensus to include something, which makes sense. Of course not being included doesn't prevent anuone from using the mod, and I assume the thread will remain (lively debate and all) to inform anyone searching the Mods section of the forum.

FWIW: Gamwich has an updated v1.3 available now.

SKYRIMLE Inhabitants of Skyrim - NPC Overhaul by Rops1981
redirishlord replied to rootsrat's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I'm still sorting out my new MO setup, so its all new games until I get it stable and pleasing. I fiure I'll let NPC Overhaul get overwritten, at least until I'm savvy enough with TES5Edit to start carrying its changes forward to other plugins. -
SKYRIMLE Inhabitants of Skyrim - NPC Overhaul by Rops1981

Tru dat, it's all about the maintenance. I notice that LOOT places the NPC Overhaul esp earlier than the other pertinent plugins (BOYD, ESF, the Sky Haven suite), am I correct in assuming I can allow this to load earlier and the other plugins will overwrite their specific npc records leaving the bulk of the NPC Overhaul intact (orc stronghold denizens, tavern wenches, etc)? -

Yikes. I see how the work can add up across multiple plugins especially if one or more edit multiple npcs. -

I've got me some TES5Edit learning to do, so far I've only used it to clean & run the merge script. -

Correct me if I'm wrong, but won't in MO show me when mods are overwriting each and the conflicts tab will allow me to select which mod wins? -
DROPPED Soul Gems Differ - Full and Empty (by Utopolyst)

Thanks for your work on those presets Z, saved me a lot of time (and obsessive compulsion, SO MANY choices) being able to click a preset and go. -
SKYRIMLE Unbelievable Grass HD 2k and 1k by AceeQ
redirishlord replied to DoYouEvenModBro's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
That is a brutal performance hit, ouch. I'm having good results with Glorious Grass/Lush Trees & Grass/SFO/Unique Grasses & Groundcovers. I don't have that dense greenery, but I don't have the fps drop either, sounds like this might be more of a niche mod for screen archery if there's no workaround for the performance hit. -
I think they fit in a world with glass armor technology, but it sounds like not so much in a Roman influenced historical sense. How that affects inclusion in STEP Extended I don't know, but I like them enough to include them in my personal load order for now (I tend toward promiscuity <edit> in my modding <edit> so who knows what the future holds).

How to find out which plugins are required for a save?
redirishlord replied to rootsrat's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Wrye Smash run through MO 1.2.4 does allow full function in its Saves tab and correctly displays all plugins from my saves (just tested and confirmed). Tannin = Genius. -

Tannin = Genius. Me = plenty coffee & mid-troubleshooting my own issues. -
Also consider this, vanilla Skyrim has display cases with thin panes of glass, so windows similar to modern are apparently possible within the confines of the game's lore. I still like the look & feel of RW, and the thickness does account for the lack of any real transparency (Immersive Interiors).

How to find out which plugins are required for a save?

If you go to the Saves tab in Mod Organizer, does mousing over the relevent save file give a list of missing mods esp (mine does). -
SKYRIMLE Immersive Sounds - Compendium by lazygecko
redirishlord replied to Kuldebar's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Great find Kuldebar, great questions Keith, and most of all great work Lazygecko - thanks all. Use with AOS2 seems straightforward thanks to the patch, and it great these projects work together, I'm curious how other STEP sound mods might interact. Specifically, Audio Dynamic Sneak has me wondering (and the ISC installer makes it appear there is specific function overlap) can I use these together (ADS earlier with ICS overwriting) or should ICS replace ADS?
