I've had this game since it's release day and I still haven't played for "real", one of these days I'll make it to Solsteim, one of these days. Or TESVI will release. Anyways, here's 3 shots from the Helgen intro, that's as far as I got before the 1am sleepy became too demanding. https://i1330.photobucket.com/albums/w568/redirishlord/TESVexe_DX9_20140408_074202RealDramaticCloudswithSerenity_zpsde8eff7b.png~originalhttps://i1330.photobucket.com/albums/w568/redirishlord/TESVexe_DX9_20140408_074202RealDramaticCloudswithSerenity_zpsde8eff7b.png~original With Dramatic & Real Clouds both installed and Serenity ENB I notice a lot of cloud and mist (not to mention the lightning & thunder in the distance, thanks Minty) moving in as the introduction played out. That's all for tonight, tomorrow I need to figure out why I'm wearing a damn iron helmet in the intro, wtf?

Surprised to see STEP:CORE/Extended wading into the CBBE/UNP debate, that seems more a choice for individual packs.

Great news Neovalen, if you experienced that kind of minimum fps boost I have high hopes with my rig; CPU i7 4770k @ 3.5GHzRAM 16GB (2 x 8GB DDR3 1866)GPU NVidia GTX 670 2GB120 GB SDD (Windows 8.1 64bit OS)1TB 7200 RPM HDD (Skyrim)

In today's 10 question's for the Chairman video, Chris Roberts gives a great explanation of gameplay details and informs on the role of the Cloud Imperium Games (the maker of Star Citizen) as "dungeon master". CIG intends to continue producing free content in response to player actions as ongoing support for the persistent universe, in much the same way an AD&D DM would in a long term campaign. This was a particularly informative weekly update, take 15 minutes and satisfy your curiousity. BTW, As of the time of this writing, fewer than 3,000 Alpha Slots remain so you might want to pick up a game package with alpha/beta access while its included.

Is there a mod that... (Mod Detectives)
redirishlord replied to rootsrat's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Is there a mod that simplifies adding/changing an existing voice set; in other words pulling a voice from (for example) Interesting NPCs and adding it to (for example) vanilla Lydia? If not a mod, perhaps you know of an how to article/guide/wiki? -
I'll show you, I can add links now! Just enjoying some last minute OCD before starting the whole Helgen intro thing.
-
That picture looks great, I've installed Serenity myself and look forward to launching a newly installed/modded/patched Skyrim tonight (haven't played in a bit, down for maintenance & updates). I'm guessing I should call an audible, pull Dramatic Clouds from my lineup, and go with Real Clouds. edit: upon further review, no need to pull Dramatic Clouds, I can have my clouds & eat them too!

ACCEPTED Stealth Skills Rebalanced (by kryptopyr)
redirishlord replied to kryptopyr's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I enjoy your mod with ACE (and your provided patch) and Enchanting Awakened (minus the ACE enchanting module) with some Deadly Combat gravy & ASIS (minus the increased spawns) over top. The attention you show the Stealth skills is much needed and appreciated (finally needing to advance the Stealth skills for their own perks instead of just farming them for Combat/Magic perks). As for Camouflage, IMHO wouldn't allow Heavy Armors to benefit (just doesn't seem stealthy, muffled or no, its a Stealth skill thing - Thieves are Light). I think the racial bonuses are already baked-in/balanced so bonus by skin tone doesn't seem quite right. Just my 2 septims worth. -
GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
redirishlord replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
Hey, read to the bottom of the guide, thanks for that ;-) After downloading and endorsing Courier Stash Integration I deleted WMX-POP-merged and replaced the CSI esp with WilliamImm's (thanks for that WI). New playthrough started clean, no stash gear in my possession, haven't encountered it in merchant inventory or loot yet (but its early & I'm sure its integrated just fine). I just installed FlashlightNV, so once I get back to Doc's house (somewhere near NCRCF currently, fast travel disabled) I'll check out that functionality (with advanced recon & pipboy 2500). My load order now totals 122 plugins after merges btw. Currently playing with NVSE 4.2beta3 DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=448 (up from 384), I'm experiencing CTDs near Primm (not sure if its related). I'll see if the issue is reproducible or more periodic/random (which might indicate max memory rather than conflict?). -

Here's a random question: "No Storage Device Detected", whatever is causing this prevents my changes to game settings/controls from saving (so WASD resets to direction arrows for example). Anyone know a fix for this? *solved: fallout.ini & falloutprefs.ini set to read only causes the issue. -

@ WilliamImm above: Thanks for the integration plugin and thanks for the JIP tip, I was already using the various JIP mods but didn't realize this one had update until you linked me there. @ EssArrBee below: Thanks for the heads up on tags, updated them and re-bashed. re- JIP, I like the idea of the Companion Wheel, I also like the Realistic Weapon Overheating for both ballistic & energy weps, if I had to something up for script stability it would be Selective Fire. -

Willow updated to 1.01 28/03/2014, per the author; "@EVERYONE - I've uploaded the latest version 1.01. I've attempted to fix all of the bugs that have been reported since the intial release of 1.0 two weeks ago ... This was a pretty big update ... Please let me know if things still aren't working after you've installed this. Enough has been changed that I've given it a new version number and the download is now packaged up with the sound, bsa and esm/esp in one complete package." Not sure if it fixes the AR/Flashlight?Willow conflicts, perhaps llamaRCA has suggestions or insight? -

I had no idea you were using NMM, at least start using Wrye's BAIN installer if you don't want to switch to MO (I use BAIN, have for quite some time. I download mods to my HDD archive, pre-fix their file names with a guide type structure (A01-YUP for example, followed by A02-whatever, etc). I can then just select as many as I want to drag & drop into Wrye Flashes installer tab. The benefit to installing that way is Wrye shows conflicts between them in a separate window and I can manipulate install order on fly (maybe I want NMC textures to overwrite Bueno, but then change my mind it's easy to alter the order and Wrye works out the conflicts/overwrites no just between the two but all installed mod packages. Other than prefixing the filenames for convenience you also need to make sure the file structure is Wrye friendly (top level of the zipped file = the data directory so esp, meshes folder, textures folder go here) see the STEP guide for more details. Once you're setup its easy and powerful, god forbid I need to do a full re-install of FNV due to some catastrophe but at least I can re-install all my mods in with a drag & drop and a few minutes for Wrye to process (its waiting for Steam to download FNV that takes time). tl;dr STEP guide to Wrye, food for thought. -

I got that and more from the old Realvision ENB forum community, check out Tony971's stability guide on Nexus. Obviously do your research (twice) before tweaking skyrim.ini & skyrimprefs.ini or the fallout NV config files for that matter. -

I have both Advanced Recon and Willow in my line up, no problems. I use Wrye/BAIN as you know, and I haven't tried to add Flashlight NVSE. How can I help (or can I)? As far as post guide editing morale, watch that 5 minute Hornet F7C commercial from my general games post, I guarantee you'll like it or your money back ;-) -
Amen to that, and don't forget the 1st person close combat! *** scrape up 20 mins & check out this video; the first 10 are insight into the developer & tease for the dogfighting module to be released next week at PAXEast, the last 10 are featuring teams of modders & their entries in TNGS, if you remember the Bear Musician Skyrim mod watch for Team Troika (from TES to the 'verse, impressive).

All I can say is check out some of the videos I linked, especially the Hornet. Those are in-engine (Cry modified for 1stPerson space sim). Its not a monthly subscription btw, buy a ship package and you're good to go (of course many early backers have bought small fleets, but there's no need to do that). Its definitely not EVE, if you remember Freelancer it will be more that style with CIG running the persistent universe servers. They intend to release alpha modules over the next year, the "hangar" is out now. "dogfighting" drops after PAXEast, "planetside" brings FPS combat (ground & space station) later, than "social" opening up planetary environment bars for mingling and stores for shopping, finally a beta of the persistent universe then the Squadron 42 single player campaign to be released in chapters leading up to the full/live release. Finally, CIG has committed to continued content release & persistent server support after full launch.

I hear your concerns, if this were the next EVE I wouldn't have any interest. If you can find the time, watch the Hornet F&C commercial (its short but sweet) for an idea of what the realtime 1st Person combat will be like (think spiritual successor to Freelancer, made by same guy but without MS calling the shots/reigning him in). Also checkout the link to something for everyone "here", it details the realtime integrated economy/mission generation, also this link has a video preview of one of the mining colonies (scroll down the monthly report to the Foundry 42 section) which is another profession that will be simulated in realtime 1st person, and btw the 6km long mining bases look amazing.

SKYRIMLE Follower Commentary Overhaul - FCO by terzaerian
redirishlord replied to statmonster's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I tend to strategically place followers around a home, like the Druids Den, where they can't cause to much trouble. I'll keep that MCM on mind though, especially if I'm adding some vanilla to Vilja to see how they interact. -
Chris Roberts started his latest game, Star Citizen, with a Kickstarter and it just kept going, here's their funding tracker. This space simulation/MMO looks really immersive , engineered for balance and supports its community. Speaking of community involvement, they are producing their own modders competiton, The Next Great Starship where teams from the community compete for the chance to design a new starship asset for inclusion the game. Check out previous episodes for the competition itself, the most recent is a teaser for the upcoming Alpha Release Dogfighting Module. Believe it or not, this website is for a pre-alpha community funded effort. That in no way means the various divisions, from Santa Monica to Toronto to Manchester, aren't hard at work creating something truly amazing. Fantasy roleplay fans may not think a space sim is for them, but I challenge you to check it out and decide for yourself, there really is something for everyone here. If the following advert videos don't grab you by the viscera and make you want to know more, I'm at a loss Aurora LN commercial Hornet F7C "Domestic emergency" commercial Freelancer above, 300i "Speed" commercial

Nice advice, I'll check out goatk's work, I've never been entirely happy with the vanilla homes (and always seem to have issues with the displays). edit: Breezehome TNF-Elianora's Flavour looks great, I use EL&FX but its "no breezehome version" solves poetential conflict there, I'll see how SPO plays with this. Re- Druids Den, don't fear the mannequins, they've always played nice with me. The display features are outstanding, drop your items in the appropriate container and voila display versions appear in strategic (or a more interior decorator-y term?) locations, no fuss no mess.

I'll refrain from off-topic links outside the Banter area, that being said Portland (the city) is right in my neighborhood and close to my heart. Thanks for the tip about the Bigger Heads version, I missed those skeleton comments, I'll avoid merging it (in case I need to remove it). I too like that the TK Children main mod only alters specific actors and doesn't affect other mod content.
-
Druids Den has a lot to recommend it, from the author's description (emphasis, mine) "Brand new custom display mechanics & quest-aware content • Vast library and study area with functional bookshelves • Treasury with lots of storage space, mannequins, display cases and weapon racks • Mage area with alchemy/enchanting stations (including Staff Enchanter from DB) • Underground forge with smithing equipment • Kitchen and cooking area • Indoor ingredient garden • Exterior porch with breathtaking view of Whiterun and the Eastmarch • Working stable for your horse • Lots of greenery • Fully navmeshed and cleaned with TES5Edit • Family friendly with support for up to 6 children (Hearthfire Multiple Adoptions required!) The containers are all safe and do not respawn (except for the trash bin in the main hall which can be used to dispose of unwanted items). There are no hidden gold stashes or fully stocked alchemy labs, personally I think that akin to cheating. This mod gives you nothing for free (apart from the house itself, there is currently no quest or other cost involved in acquiring it)" Definitely worth checking out.

SKYRIMLE Player Voicesets - Functional but WIP by ChizFoShiz
redirishlord replied to statmonster's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Just ran into this on the Nexus ... and then found your thread. It's up to version 0.3.8HF (requires hearthfires) and the forum comments are encouraging. The "taunt" option seems to be a favorite, looking forward to that. Update: I really like this, although it takes some getting used to. I still find myself looking around for the guy that just made that comment ... only to find it was me, I didn't recoginize my player voice. I do enjoy being able to shout/taunt as I charge into combat. -

I use both NVSE w/ memory patch (config @ 400) & NVSR, I'm running on this; CPU i7 4770k @ 3.5GHzRAM 16GB (2 x 8GB DDR3 1866)GPU NVidia GTX 670 2GB120 GB SDD (Windows 8.1 64bit OS)1TB 7200 RPM HDD (Skyrim) I am using Diablotherium with enblocal memory set @ reseve 512 & memory size 10240. Running smooth and stable with 2k textures. Suggestion, up your memory size so the built in enboost feature can use more of your ram. Keep both NVSE & NVSR.
