You need it to use your graphics card, which is the Nvidia GTX 970m. The Intel 530 is the integrated graphics, which is going to be bad quality. Use the hdmi port of your graphics card. We just need to figure out what is wrong with the refresh rate.
-
Your laptop only supports 4k hdmi output at 30hz. This is why you get screen tearing if you force it to 60fps. What hz is your TV set to? You probably need to lower it as well in order to get 60hz.
-
Reset Nvidia to default settings. Is it capped at 30fps? Ensure your laptop display isn't set to 30hz. If you are playing at 4k, it might only support 30hz. You may need to drop down to 1920x1080 to get 60hz.

SKYRIMSE Shimmering/Flickering Shadows And Textures
DoubleYou replied to beast1aN1337's question in General Skyrim SE Support
I think the stars only do that with the ENB feature that adds twinkling stars. You are looking too closely at faraway objects. The only way to lessen this is to enable the old Skyrim method of detaching shadows from the sun, and that can cause worse issues. -
BethINI manages only the default game INI files. Since the game has VSync, and caps your FPS to 60fps by default, there should be no screen tearing if you use it and turn on its VSync. And in your situation, that is probably all you really need. However, I recommend that everyone uses SSE Display Tweaks to control everything to do with framerate, VSync, etc. I do NOT recommend using the separate Havok Fix or Refresh Rate fix mods, as SSE Display Tweaks does all this for you. The baked and base files were created by Vortex. Are you using Vortex, or in all your nuclear actions, is that gone now? If so, you can just delete those.

I redid this template to be a lot simpler.

I cannot get my Skyrim SE to play
DoubleYou replied to Jknight521's question in Mod Organizer Support
We need more detailed info. You either use Vortex or Mod Organizer. There is no Vortex Mod Organizer. If you use Vortex, I believe you have to use the purge function to remove the symlinks it creates for your mods, or else those mods will remain active. -
ACCEPTED Dragons Shout with Voice (by pauderek)
DoubleYou replied to WilliamImm's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Ah, I must have replied near the same time as you. Your answer is more in-depth. I was going from memory, and I see now you are right: a double-click won't work. You have to set it as active file.- 50 replies

To fix ultra widescreen mode menus, etc., with STEP, you need the following files from this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/1778 Complete Widescreen Fix for SkyUI 5.2 SE Alpha - 2560x1080 version 2.0 https://www.nexusmods.com/Core/Libs/Common/Widgets/DownloadPopUp?id=35568&game_id=1704Better Dialogue Control Widescreen Fix https://www.nexusmods.com/Core/Libs/Common/Widgets/DownloadPopUp?id=11606&game_id=1704Better MessageBox Control Widescreen Fix https://www.nexusmods.com/Core/Libs/Common/Widgets/DownloadPopUp?id=11607&game_id=1704Race Menu SE - WIdescreen Fix https://www.nexusmods.com/Core/Libs/Common/Widgets/DownloadPopUp?id=68724&game_id=1704SkyUI SE - Flashing Savegames FIx - Widescreen Fix https://www.nexusmods.com/Core/Libs/Common/Widgets/DownloadPopUp?id=68891&game_id=1704To fix grass, your INIs are messed up. You should rerun BethINI, and that should fix it for you. Specifically, bAllowLoadGrass in Skyrim.ini should be set to 0, not 1.

SSE FPS Stabilizer settings for performance boosts...and stuff
DoubleYou replied to kojak747's question in DynDOLOD & xLODGen Support
I've been meaning to check this mod out. From observing the configs, it appears to follow the console code parameters for modifying ini settings. It looks possible that you could set it up for a lot more useful settings than what are employed in the presets. In order to use the tweak you mentioned, it appears that you would need to copy that line across all the many levels and change the values to what you want them to be at that level. -
SKYRIMSE cannot upgrade, and menu choice doesn't save
DoubleYou replied to Omnispore's question in General Skyrim SE Support
Switch to SkyUI. -
It looked like the highslide images worked? Just not the videos? I was surprised to see that embedded videos didn't work either, but maybe that's highslide too.
-
Since with the wiki update, this template didn't function properly, I have modified it to provide a text link instead, so that the user can at least click it to navigate and watch the video.

Not So Fast Main Quest changes the quest so that Irileth doesn't immediately come in announcing a dragon attack.

I restored several on the Mod Organizer guide.

Cleaning the Skyrim SE DLC ESMs + Update.esm
DoubleYou replied to theblackman's topic in Step Skyrim SE Guide
After reading much of the discussion and arguments, some of which I have thought about before reading this, I still would recommend cleaning them, especially with how easy it now is with the quick auto clean feature. I will say that it is not as detrimental to the Special Edition version of the game as it is with the other games, and it can probably be skipped with very little likelihood of problems. I also doubt that not cleaning them would yield substantial issues within the STEP guide in and of itself, but since STEP has always been considered to be a guide providing a very solid platform to mod on top of, it should remain at least as a highly recommended step. I am open to different ideas, but the arguments I have seen against cleaning them seem rather unnecessary.- 29 replies

Cleaning the Skyrim SE DLC ESMs + Update.esm
DoubleYou replied to theblackman's topic in Step Skyrim SE Guide
I have a great deal of respect for the makers of xEdit. This is a question that is probably more relevant to be asked of the xEdit devs instead of us, tbh. The advent of quick auto clean may very well have fixed the issues mentioned.- 29 replies

Cleaning the Skyrim SE DLC ESMs + Update.esm
DoubleYou replied to theblackman's topic in Step Skyrim SE Guide
This is all news to me. I can't think of a way that cleaning the DLCs would cause issues, unless the cleaning is bugged or somehow done wrong, but I can think of ways that not cleaning them could cause issues. Granted, with SSE there are less possible issues since there are basically no mods that require loading between the official DLC.- 29 replies

I don't think we are close-minded to the idea of developing a Wabbajack installer. We simply have no experience using that tool, and it would take time to put together whatever kind of script it is necessary to deploy such a tool. I agree it would be vastly useful, and I love automating things. This is the reason I developed BethINI. However, much like the mindset that many people have regarding BethINI, many people like the amount of control and knowledge gained by doing the task manually versus the automated method. And then some people altogether will reject such automated tools as untrustworthy. There is definitely a place for both automated and manual modding. If I had more time, I would learn Wabbajack and deploy it for STEP. It doesn't look like it would be that hard at first glance. As a former member of the STEP Staff group, I know we have nothing against users helping us out! Airbreather developed the StepperUpper utility to make the process semi-automatic in the past.

Not all ENB settings are used across the different games. Your best bet is to open the ENB menu in game to observe the settings there. If the setting is there, you can then see if the same setting is described in the wiki to get a better understanding of what it does.
