  1. I need to remember to update those links with the recent website update. None of these are issues, and everything is working as intended. I am decoupling various settings such as Vsync from the presets in a new update once it's ready as a quality of life improvement.
  2. A New Paradigm - A New Name BethINI is changing to Bethini Pie. BethINI was originally designed for the optimization of Bethesda game INI configuration files, and left virtually no room for growth into other games. Bethini Pie completely redefines the application, as it intends to become a configuration editor capable of modifying the configuration settings of any game that utilizes INI files. While out-of-the-box support for any and all games is not currently intended, it provides the ability to add support for any game through the careful assembly of specially designed JSON files. It may be designed in the future to work with any INI file with limited capabilities, although at this time, such is not the case. The name change reflects this new paradigm. The addition of "Pie" has multiple connotations. For one, Bethini Pie is written in Python, so "Pie" is a subtle reference to the change in programming language. Additionally, "Pie" doubles as an acronym describing the intended function of the application as a Performance INI Editor. Hence, Bethini Pie - Performance INI Editor. This adds a search engine optimization tweak to the name, so that if a user is looking for increased "performance," or "INI" tweaks, or an "INI Editor", they have a far better chance of finding "Bethini Pie - Performance INI Editor" within their search. Currently, most people find BethINI despite its name. It is hoped that this addition helps people find it more easily. Development Bethini Pie is written in Python and is currently in active development. The GitHub repository is located here: https://github.com/DoubleYouC/Bethini-Pie-Performance-INI-Editor Release Info Bethini Pie has been released on the Modding Tools section of the Nexus Website here: https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/631 Licensing CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 Themes Bethini Pie supports a number of different theme customizations, including the ability to change font, colors, and even the pictures used on tabs. Multiple themes are already included. All of these can be changed, minus the tab pictures, via the Preferences window (Menubar -> Edit -> Preferences). Tab pictures will correspond with the name of the tab, and are stored in the themes\<Theme-Name> directory. It is not configured to show theme changes until restart at this point in time. Collaboration Collaboration from anyone able and willing to further develop this project is encourage. Recognize that I am a hobby programmer with no formal training, so my code is probably not the cleanest. The design is simple, with the main repository housing all the code and written 100% in Python for generating the application. All the game plugins are then added as submodules into the apps directory. Bethini Pie scans the list of directories at startup and these are all then made available via the initial Choose Game dialog. Due to the entire game plugin design being generated solely via JSON files, one does not even technically need to know Python to be able to design a plugin. Each plugin should have a top level folder designating the name, such as Fallout 4, that is easily identifiable as the option to choose. It is not desired to add "game" plugins for individual mods for a game, such as say NGIO for Skyrim Special Edition. Rather, it is intended to build a framework for adding mod plugins for any game, allowing those modifications to be integrated into interface when the game is loaded and the mod plugin discovered. These plugins should be extremely accessible and easy to design so that mod authors can quickly develop these for their mods with no collaboration with the Bethini Pie project necessary. Bethini Pie will in turn use verification checks to ensure that no such plugins can cause issues, verifying the tweaks as valid and warning if necessary.
  3. Picture? Check to make sure you didn't lower the gamma way down in the SkyrimPrefs.ini file. Did you recently get an HDR monitor? Make sure you have the HDR settings in Windows set up correctly.
  4. Read the Readme to install it correctly. The mod archive is not set up for easy installation, so you will need to manually set the correct data directory structure.
  5. There is little need to ever extract BSAs nowadays, unless you need to modify the files contained within.
  6. I am the author of BethINI. BethINI will not remove custom tweaks unless it knows for certain that they are problematic. Just because it left them there doesn't mean that they are OK. You say the problem is with the camera, so it seems reasonable that the problem relates to the [Camera] settings.
  7. You have a bunch of [Camera] tweaks in Skyrim.ini. While they are probably fine, I haven't exactly tested them as working for SSE, so try removing them and see if that fixes the issue. Sometimes these things don't work as well as they did in previous games.
  8. ESL files are generally preferred over regular plugin files. I would imagine that is the case here.
  9. @z929669 I added a <pre> template here: https://stepmodifications.org/wiki/Template:Pre It uses the mw-code class. You need to add the following css for it to work perfectly: .mw-code p { margin-bottom: 0; } .mw-code div { white-space: pre-nowrap }
  10. I am guessing it's a caching issue, as it displays fine for me. Try clearing your cache and see if that fixes it. @PugAre you also on Firefox? Edit: Actually, I see now this is a bug. Looks like we can't use pre tags. Can't find a workaround.
  11. The changelog should detail all changes since that version: https://stepmodifications.org/wiki/SkyrimSE:1.0.0/changelog
  12. If you already have fSplitDistanceMult at 4.0, you probably don't want to increase it further. What that variable is telling the LOD is that you want the terrain LOD to be nicer for 4x the distance of the object LOD, basically. You probably have it as nice as it's gonna get.
  13. You could improve the terrain LOD pop-in by increasing fSplitDistanceMult. Just remember that this number is multiplied against the fBlock distances for terrain LOD levels, so don't go crazy. You can adjust this easily in the DYNDOLOD MCM menu.
  14. https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Skyrim_Tree_Settings I think you just need to adjust your tree settings.
  15. Open Regedit and screenshot the following location: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell FoldersAlso, if you could show us your Skyrim.ini file, that would be good to rule out sLocalSavePath.
  16. What is in the initweaks.ini file? Edit: Nevermind that. It seems they changed Mod Organizer to not use that method anymore.
  17. Are you using local savegames or profile-specific savegames? What are the contents of initweaks.ini found in the profile's folder? What is the file location you want the game to read the save files from? What location on your OS is setup as the default user documents environment location? By default, the game uses the user documents environment variable to determine the location of the savegames, but that can be overridden by Mod Organizer via the sLocalSavePath ini setting, which it places in the initweaks.ini file previously mentioned. If it doesn't, it is possible you are redirecting it somehow else.
  18. A good high value is 10000 iirc. You have to increase the shadow resolution when you increase the shadow distance for it to look good, as the resolution gets stretched the farther the distance.
  19. I see there are a bunch. I'll put it on the list. I want to get major version 4.0 finished before I start adding new features. Making good progress, but probably a while to go yet. Sneak peek:
  20. Any specific controller settings?
  21. Mod Organizer does not use the ini files in your Documents folder. In BethINI you need to change the INI Path under Setup to point to your Mod Organizer profile. Then ensure Projected UV Diffuse Normals is checked under Visuals.
  22. Hmmm. That shouldn't happen. Could you please pastebin a copy of the INI files that cause these issues? Also, the gamepad can be toggled in the in-game settings. Check and see if it is enabled or not when it isn't working.
  23. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/42161 You need this mod. The grid size you changed will have no effect on grass.
  24. From the compares, this mod looks better.
  25. Agreed. The weathered standing stones and the wall around the claw door are too much. Only other thing I would add is it looks like the vanilla brick texture in Windhelm next to the wall of names may be superior to current STEP.
