ACCEPTED RUSTIC DRAGONS - Special Edition (by Gamwich)
Eliian replied to TechAngel85's topic in Skyrim SE Mods
I prefer the more muted tones of Rustic myself. I never really noticed how much bellyaches stick out until I switched. Not that I don't tend to avoid dragon fights at this point- 5 replies

Replacing LE mods in STEP SE Guide with SE versions
Eliian replied to a topic in Step Skyrim SE Guide
-There is a version of DROPS for SSE, but it is not by the original author. -High-Res Dartwing now has a SSE version. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/37668 Those are the only two I could find other than what has been mentioned. -
Tried searching the forums, but was struggling getting results. Where does the compilation go in the left pane? At the end so it overwrites all other textures? Just making sure so I do not loose textures like LeanWolf's Enchanting Candles. Thanks for the help.

GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
Eliian replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
It actually says the opposite. It says on the NVR3 page that "This mod requires Fallout Character Overhaul. " -
FalloutPrefs.ini empty in mod organizer-
Eliian replied to Eliian's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
I think I was able to fix it. Running FNV within mod organizer and going back to check there are now entries in the appropriate ini tweaks section. -
Hello all :) Just started using Fear and Loathing. I did not know there was one for FNV on STEP, but when I saw there was it was my first choice! This site always has the best modding guides after all. As for my question. I was on the step of making ini tweaks. When reaching the FalloutPrefs.ini tweaks section and going to the editor in Mod Organizer it is completely blank unlike in fallout.ini. Is this supposed to be the case?? I noticed while looking at the unmodified two ini files they seem to be exactly the same (outside mod organizer that is). I was hoping if there would be any clarification. Thanks!

Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - pre 2.xx
Eliian replied to sheson's question in DynDOLOD & xLODGen Support
Thank you both!! I was wondering if Pure Weather may be the issue. I saw that someone released billboards for Purity and since Pure Weather does not have a similar mod I figured everything would be fine. Also, thank you especially for the detailed instructions. They are greatly appreciated! :) I will try it out and tweak until I get it right. -
Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - pre 2.xx
Eliian replied to sheson's question in DynDOLOD & xLODGen Support
Hello :) I am having a strange issue where the tree lods are a different, and brighter green than they are supposed to be. I installed STEP in the order that I was supposed to and followed the directions as far as I know. We are not supposed to download anything from TES5LODGen right? Skyrim revisited does I know that. Here is an example. I am using Pure Weather if that affects anything. I am also using the basic version of Vurt's Flora Overhaul as suggested. https://i.imgur.com/ctVCbBs.jpg -
To those who use Complete Crafting Overhaul, Weapon and Armor Fixes, Clothes and Clutter fixes, and Cloaks of Skyrim/Winter is Coming the patches by this author are awesome. It will even replace the need for some other patches which is never a bad thing. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/users/8411732/? He also has one if you use Hunterborn, Frostfall and RnD but I use Ineed.

Thank you!!! I was not aware that Nexus was down for maintenance (sort of). I was assuming so and planning to just wait it out. Thanks for the clarification.
-
I just started having this issue myself. Hopefully it will go away on it's own (nexus server issues or something). If anyone has any solutions or knowledge about his please share. I would very much appreciate it :)

Maybe download the optional file and check it for yourself? They have the same name. Not two separate esps. The main file's esp is indeed record-free =) As you said. Didn't mean to argue that sorry.

yes definitely should be noted.however, i know there is some reason that some authors choose to release mods with an empty ESP ... i think it has something to do with mod assets being packaged into a BSA .. i think its so the assets get loaded by the game?? .. but if you use MO and/or unpack your BSAs anyway, the need for the ESP is lost. That is indeed true. Using MO the need to use the ESP is lost. I am not sure about the author of Thundering Shouts (besides obviously using a BSA file), but the BWS's author mentioned an interesting reason. This is what he said in the commnets "In the past I had some problems with some people using my sounds in their mods (no Skyrim mods) without giving me credit or asking me. To avoid such things and excuses like "oh i didnt know they were yours" i put them into a BSA."
-
Better Weapon Swings and Thundering Shout .ESPS are not needed? They are just blank and are used with the BSA file. If so it can be suggested to remove the .esps from both I would think. =)

For High Quality LODS Skryim Revisited currently suggests using Meshes Hi-Res + Normals Original. This is while using SRO. As long as you do not install the SRO specific textures you should be fine (or any textures from this mod for that matter). I have not seen purple textures and have done this.
-
That is great!! Thanks! I know I spent 30 minutes probably trying to do it manually ha. This is much simpler indeed.

The LITE version has been around since STEP started using this mod. I believe there are fixes not in the lite version that the team wanted to use but I am unsure. Look at the pages in this thread and you can see comments from Kryptopyr himself. In regards to the lite version among the changes we were looking to use.

Curious to know everyone's Country of Origin/Occupation and Age
Eliian replied to DoYouEvenModBro's topic in Step Banter Inn
Youngest here so far :P Nationality: English Country: United States Location: West Coast- Near Los Angeles Occupation: Student/Part time Jobs Age: 20 -
Looks like it was fixed :)

Nope!! You do not need the ESPs as long as you do not repackage them as an .BSA file. I would suggest separating the High Res DLC Files into their own folders. So you would have one folder for Texture Pack 1, Then 2, Then 3. After you do this you compress them in to a ZIP Folder. After this is done you add them to Mod Organizer (which I hope you are using ;) ) the same way you would manually a mod. "Install New Mod from Archive" specially in the upper left hand corner. Once this is done drag them to the top and then activate them. The High-Res textures will be loaded into the game and you can even see anything that overwrites them as you add more and more mods from step =) Hopefully that made sense.

ACCEPTED Better Shaped Weapons - BSW (by masterofshadows and LeanWolf)
Eliian replied to WilliamImm's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Thought I would post some screens =D I will do more if you all like them. In my opinion it improves the swords a lot. Not so bulky and wide. Using the same order as Garfink. However, if you want the Scabbards from SSwTB I am unsure how to go keeping them atm. STEPÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â STEP + BSW Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â -
I have not inspected every single change this mod brings, but the overarching concept of scrunching up the textures around the models is flawed, IMO. From what I have seen, what applies to the mountains also applies to the other rocks in this mod. I recommend waiting ro the proper fixes to evolve rather than apply this mod. Do please look at some of the other comparisons under Core. If they look better, then post the screens and we will consider using the "good stuff" from this mod. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to come off as hostile =) More just looking for answers for flaws where I do not remember seeing them. I see what you mean looking through the mod myself now. No doubt the Mountain and rock textures are flawed. Looking through non mountain and rock meshes the issue seems to be present in other places as well. Not worth going through the hassle when other mods in STEP seem to fix the issue. More importantly they are a better alternative to vanilla without causing another issue. This of course being what you had mentioned in originally getting rid of it. I can back the decision now (as much as me liking or not effects it being included of course :P)
-
I know this was way back at the start of this thread, but bear with me. For No stretching wouldn't it be only the mountain meshes that are the problem? Seems a little much to uninstall the entire mod if some of the meshes still fix stretching issues in other places. Especially since other mods already have somewhat detailed lists of what and what not to install. We could always just say delete the landscape folder and keep the dungeons one (not sure if rocks folder is affected by the same issue). That would be the most basic solution.

I'll go ahead and share some of mine. Great suggestions so far!! I use some of them myself. Happens to be most of mine help me with immersion. So your mileage may vary =) - Morrowind Imports -- A rather simple mod that allows several of the vendors in Windhelm to sell certain imported Morrowind items. Specifically Brand-Shei who always brags about his wares from his homeland but never has them in stock. It also makes sense that the patrons of the cornerclub would both eat and drink of their culture. - Oblivion gates of Skyrim -- It makes sense to me that there would be several oblivion gates in the wilderness. Where no one really goes. Remnants of the past that I enjoy seeing. They are well placed, and blend in even if there are only a few added by the mod. - Varied Guards and Stromcloaks -- Personally, I enjoy being able to see the guard's faces. This fixes the issue for me in a way no other mod does. Most of them are replacers. This, however, adds varied helms to the leveled lists. So not all of them are wearing the same one and you can see their faces. It is outdated, but I have never had very many problems with it outside level list conflicts. I also do not use the Witcher helms version. -  Cultural Diversity - Khajiit-Argonian-Dunmer -- -- I personally only use two of the modules. One that changes Argonian dock worker clothes. Enjoy seeing them wearing something at least a little more unique and correct. I also like how some Dunmer's clothes are changed, but alter it too my liking depending on the npc. - Khajiit Speak -- This is essential to me when playing my Khajiit. Since I rp him as someone who was orginally born in Elsweyr. Very well done and I am sure some of you have heard of it =) That is all I have! Little things really, but they are what matter to me.
