If he does not want me to help his users use his textures, he should have spent 10 seconds in the permissions tab to tell me so. Anyway, I don't mean to sound bitchy tonight, it just seems like if someone produced a superior overhaul for Whiterun tomorrow, you would just shun it and not look at it. I have said already a number of times that compatibility is something I can look into. I even asked Nazenn to have a look if I cannot. I like helping, you just have to ask me and I will try my best. Cabal's sharing ethics are totally the opposite of mine and I hate to see that personally.

Who knows if Cabal would be willing to let you alter his textures to fit your fixed meshes. Since there are not permissions say you can do thus, Nexus will assume the author has not offered that permission without asking. Therefore, you'd need to ask him first. If you just went and did it and then provided those altered files in your mod, then all Cabal would have to do is tell Nexus you didn't have permission and that would be that. You'd be asked to take them down or banned...depending on how Nexus wanted to handle the situation...which would probably depend on how upset Cabal is over it. If you want to seek permissions, please do so! I'd love to have those Whiterun textures work with your meshes. They'd be added to STEP for sure!

What I was saying though, is you kept saying there was no way it could be looked into, even when I am trying to do my best to get it sorted. It just seemed like you did not listen to what I had been saying is all. I have to say I am a bit adverse to the author's attitude myself, it seems like a superiority complex. I tried to go in and tell him my thoughts once, but it is hard due to the language barrier. I am just afraid I will not be able to bite my tongue, if I go and ask. I don't like causing trouble. Edit: I sent Cabal a PM asking. I also told him what I said here with an apology. I just saw a post of his in another mod, and he seems to have really changed. I like that. kryptopyr Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 I know I've seen more than a handful of other mods making use of Cabal's textures or using modified versions of his textures (seemingly with his permission), so he does allow others to use his textures. Obviously I can't speak for him and don't know whether he would agree or not in this case, but I wouldn't judge him too harshly for his written permissions. My own mods all have "do not use without permission from me" statements, but I don't think I've ever turned down anyone who asked me for permission to use any of my work. I just like to be asked, know where my stuff is being used, and feel like I have some say in the matter, but I'm generally happy to have people use my stuff. On the other hand, I do understand from another mod author's perspective that it can be frustrating to have to ask. I know that I generally shy away from asking permission when there is no indication that such requests are welcome (whether or not that impression is actually warranted). So I can understand both sides. I have to say that I really appreciate the openness of your permissions and want to thank you for being so generous with your work, both in sharing it and allowing others to use it.
Octopuss Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 (edited) I have installed BDS with the SMIM+legendary options, and now the mod only is 3MB/22 files compared to 22MB/77 with the previous version (before the SMIM addition). I don't hate Cabal or anything, it is probably because he is Italian and whatnot. As I said, he seems to come off in better form now, as perhaps most likely, he improved his language skills. I understand perfectly Tech and thank you krypto too (you do some great work).

Guest Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Brumbek edited his files to work with BDS. I requested vanilla versions incase people, for some reason, did not want to use SMIM.

I am on a PC tonight to look at AMB and I have installed the latest RF, but the files seem outdated. You should not be able to float behind Breezehome lol. I can sort it out with another update if it is same on your end. Edit: Have quickly looked into AMB: WR and see no problems in the NIfs. What problems with the base meshes are there? They seem compatible to me. Edit 2: No green grass option? I get a feeling you missed my file in the thread? Haha. Edited May 15, 2015 by Guest
