DoYouEvenModBro Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 (edited) I still prefer step. Cabals is good but I prefer the vanilla style enhaneent of SRO. Im interested to see dragonsreach though. Edited June 1, 2014 by DoYouEvenModBro
EssArrBee Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 Dragonsreach, lots of rugs but it is a castle after all. Lots of wood too. HRDLC->STEP (detailed rugs and SRO I believe)->AMB ceilingWall by war roomWall by wizardWood floorwindow on second floor (part that looks over the main hall, visible windows for STEP pic)rock floor in main hall I thinkbig rugbig rug I have a few more, but I think that is enough. Missing a couple roofs in the city, maybe the inside of the shops/inn, and the trellis.
DoYouEvenModBro Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Cabals is really good and a slightly dofferent stylistic choice. I think it is very subjective. Both sro and cabal is fantastic.
Nearox Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Cabal's is the best for Dragonreach. Prefer SRO for the rest of whiterun.
hauntmedoitagain Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 I honestly can't imagine my game without these textures. Whiterun has never looked better imo.
TechAngel85 Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Cabals textures here look too "modern". Some of his choices in the brickwork and woodwork is something you'd expect to find in a more modern setting, not old world like Skyrim. Particularly the smoothness of the brick and tile here and there. Cabal's is nice; however, it's not true to the look and feel of Skyrim, imo.
namtrahj Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 I really like Cabal's overall. From these shots, though, I do have to say that I like the SRO rugs better in the last two sets of comparisons. Cabal's are a bit busy and I like the colors of the SRO rugs.
EssArrBee Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 That's detailed rugs. They are the current step rugs.
phryxolydian Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Well, as SRB has already pretty much covered Whiterun completely, here's some shots outside of Whiterun, where these textures are also used. Lakeview Manor: Outskirts of Whiterun: Complete Album Here

In the other hand wood work looks nice. A little dark but nicer. The stone wall in the last serie is awful. They have the same size stone brick in the bottom and different ones in the upper level. But the worst thing are the corners: the textures in that place don´t match and they look artificial. The stone rows with STEP looks more natural.
namtrahj Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Yeah, I have to agree about the stone walls. In that shot it looks kind of like stone-patterned wallpaper because the texture ends so suddenly at the edges. I also like the use of lighter-colored roofs and wood in STEP-- it provides a nice contrast and shows off the detailing in the woodwork. Some of that gets lost in the more monochromatic AMB.
TechAngel85 Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 My official vote on this is, no. Edit:Have not tested in-game yet.
hauntmedoitagain Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 I guess I don't get it... I find the wood and stone work to all be appropriately weathered and fitting. Also keep in mind that Whiterun is the proverbial jewel of Skyrim; it only makes sense that its citizens invest a bit more into upkeep than other cities.
